  • wow, i didn't realize she was that old!

  • I guess this was before she became a traitorous bitch and had her picture taken sitting on North Vietnam anti-aircraft guns.

  • @dao3rd123

The only traitors were the military-industrial assholes who lied about the Gulf Of Tonkin (it was FAKED) and then sent thousands of Americans to their deaths.

Jane was right. And you are dead wrong. Revisionist history is bullshit, so stop indulging in it. You are only ensuring that you will remain stupid and brainwashed for the rest of your life. Your real enemies are in the White House, the Pentagon and in Congress. Get that straight in your mind.

  • I like Jane

  • i never realized she was THAT old!

  • This was before her majorly stupid and misguided trip to NORTH Vietnam. Unlike Joan Baez, Fonda did not apologize to the Vietnam vets after the war. Baez admitted that she was wrong to speak favorable of the North Vietnamese and said that they were thugs and murderers which, of course, they were. LBJ lied to America to offically start the war in '64 with the fraudulent attacks on the USS Maddox and the USS Turner Joy (my ship) and McNamara testified to that fact.

  • @exenrontexas "I would like to say something, not just to Vietnam veterans in New England, but to men who were in Vietnam, who I hurt, or whose pain I caused to deepen because of things that I said or did. I was trying to help end the killing and the war, but there were times when I was thoughtless and careless about it and I'm very sorry that I hurt them. And I want to apologize to them and their families."

  • Are you best known for your work as a communist sympathizer?

  • some debate going on here me dad liked her one point lol

  • She is super beautiful.

  • @daveibukun That she is. I really enjoyed "Barefoot in the park",with Robert Redford.

  • Wow!!! this woman never seems to age.

  • Daaang! Jane fonda is old then!

  • @edia05 When she did Klute she was in her 30's; not her 20's the way it very well could have looked. She looked youthful to me.

  • this show was in the 50's, she had a career that early?

  • @okonh0wp I believe this was in 1960.

  • Jane Fonda would only go on the show if John Daly and Bennett Cerf promised to schtup her after the show was over.

  • wow jane fonda is pretty now, back then she was beautiful :O

  • what a beautfiul woman and great great actress!

  • the hatred toward jane fonda was disproportionately unfair and ignorant. the same b.s was directed toward the dixie chicks and bill maher.

i think kids serving today realize people protesting wars do it to stop violence and save lives. it has nothing to do with being unpatriotic, in fact, it is very patriotic.

meanwhile we continue our wars around the world. when is this madness going to end? and we're cutting off medicine and food to poor people to fund this stupidity.

  • @tomitstube

To protest a war country's involved in is one thing, to side with the enemy betraying US troops and mocking POWs when they were brought to see how well they were treated is another.

BS you're spreading works only on retards like yourself as nobody believes above said to be patriotic as you state. Get your facts straight and Google Jerry Driscoll pow, while at it.

  • @tomitstube

She, along with liberals like yourself did unrepairable damage to the morale of our troops.

BTW Honoring Jane Fonda as one of "100 Women of the Century" is a further slap in every Viet Nam veterans face.

  • @gyrene1966 ~ you, like the people that lied to start the vietnam war are misrepresenting the truth again. the protesters were trying to stop the war, if there was any "morale" problems with the troops it was because they were drafted into a war they knew was wrong.

if people like you had learned this lesson we wouldn't have let the same liars get us into iraq.

the question is, when are you going to admit all those people died for corporate interests?

  • @tomitstube

    You are a certified idiot!

Troops always follow orders and this is something beyond your ability to comprehend, regardless of how unpopular the conflict or war might be as in Viet Nam, they’re just caught in the loop.

You foolishly expect somehow the armed forces to start dictating policy and side with popular sentiment and do the right thing as you know it, take off your pink glasses & brace yourself 4 a shocker; all wars since day one were started because of certain interests

  • tomitstube

    There are no “kids” serving today, only great young men & women full of spirit and patriotism willing to place themselves in harm’s way so we can sleep safely in our beds and to also allow you freedom of speech, even if it means to mock & ridicule them;

But then again, that is your constitutional right…

  • @gyrene1966 ~ you seem confused, what does all your flag waving have to do with the vietnam protesters being right about a war that killed millions of people for nothing?

it's one thing to follow orders when you're in the military, but for someone to continue to support an obvious lie years later is just hopeless. your blind patriotism is killing this country.

  • @tomitstube

You’re wishy-washy all over the place but I seem confused to you; LMAO.

Main subject for this argument was traitor J Fonda I thought, siding & supporting the enemy in time of war. If according to you her actions were not only permissible but also patriotic, why did she recant and apologize some thirty years later several times in fact; 1988, 2000, 2005.

  • @gyrene1966 ~ the nazi's "followed orders", the japanese who bombed pearl harbor were "following orders", the pilots who dropped 2 atomic bombs on innocent civilians, nuking 10's of 1000s of children were "following orders", the jihadists who flew planes into the world trade center were "following orders"... isn't it funny how idiots like you always beam with pride when we murder millions of people, but when it's americans being killed it's called terrorism or evil?

  • @tomitstube Most of the deaths came in 1975 after we were gone and the communists took over.North Vietnamese,Cmere Rouge, and Ptet Lao.It was especially true in Cambodia. We were supposed to be preventing this, but that was a lie.We were never allowed to win, just like in Korea. The same behind the scenes forces invented the lie that expanded our role and that was the Gulf of Tonkin incident that never took place. These same forces also funded the anti war movement and we were caught in the middle.

  • @gyrene1966 ~ we bombed vietnam, roughly the size of italy, with 4 times the destruction of world war 2. 3 million vietnamese blown up by american bombs. we used "clean" bombs that killed life but left buildings in tact, we used "seismic" bombs that weighed 15,000 lbs. we used cluster bombs, fragmentation bombs, carpet bombs, napalm bombs, phosphorous bombs. bomb bomb bomb. just following orders. kill kill kill. nothing like killing millions of people to promote democracy eh?

  • @tomitstube

    Still refusing to discuss issue at hand cunt traitor instead, you resort to world history;

I do like this great show it's just just unfortunate she's the guest here, apologies indeed to other viewers for putting up with this crap as it's dragged on too long.

  • @gyrene1966 that is the biggest bunch of bullshit since michelle bachmann's gay husband tried converting other gays thru fucking prayer!

most of the vets in nam knew fonda was correct in her assumptions. the war was a sham & waste of time. the only people who were for it were the rich & those on the right whose children fled to college so they weren't drafted into death.

you god damn right wing "christian"republicans are the real downfall of this country with your ignorance, intolerance & hate!

  • @wntoply6 I'm not taking sides on the Vietnam issue; Just don't lecture other people about "hate" if your comments indicate you are pretty hateful yourself!

  • @kvernon1 damn, the down right gall & stupidity of your statements, they oozed of hate!

i love it when a backward, probably "christian"conservative tells everyone how not to act, all the while doing exactly what they detest in others!

but then, you can do & say what the hell YOU want, then always go to sunday meeting in your mega ampi-theather, lift your eyes to the lights, i mean your god, ask for forgiveness & get it!

shut the fuck up you god damned, lying hater, your hypocrisy makes me sick!

  • @wntoply6 You go Gal.....XXX

  • I adore Jane Fonda. Brilliant actress and lovely lady. I met her a few years ago and she was so nice. Great to see this clip, hadnt seen it before!

  • she looks like elizabeth banks here, or rather, elizabeth looks like her!

  • What a beautifulm woman!

  • I consider Jane Fonda one of the most beautiful women of all time and she's still gorgeous today! Her intelligence and idealism makes her even more appealing.

  • @abdiver12 Yes Jane looks spectacular for her age. She never looked as old as she really was.

  • Ngaww I love Jane

  • Funny how times have changed, we are American's with the RIGHT to voice our opinion, Jane did that by going against a "war" that was a military action - now days she wouldn't be called a bitch - just someone that doesn''t believe in war and yes our military kills women and children, it's just a fact of war... if you cannot admit that War is ugly (necessary sometimes) you are living a lie...

  • What a fox

  • omg she looks just like her father!!!!!

  • all these stars were on amphetamines

  • @abraxaseyes87 you are right....kept them very thin.

  • I don't agree with her polictics, although she seemed to mellow out as she got older (don't we all?) but I can't deny her beauty and talent, she's a fantastic actress.

  • So gorgeous.

  • @fran9860 stfu loser

  • Tall Story in 1960 was her first pic, I think. She was on again 3 years later promoting Sunday in New York. Once again, old Bennett identified her using the same line of questioning. She was all of 23 here. In about 8 years the hair went shag and she became known to all as Hanoi Jane. Ah, the sixties!

  • @onirannam Gorgeous in Tall Story

  • she looks like jayne meadows a bit !

  • @etrax2000 MUCH better looking...look again.

  • What a beautiful girl. She's this generations closest link to Old Hollywood and a national treasure.

  • @ccipollini1984 she's pretty much rejected her country ever since she sat on anti-aircraft gun of the Communist North Vietnamese and called her soldiers "imperialists" and "baby killers" while these same troops were being shot and tortured by the North Vietnamese.

What a detached woman, and she has refused to apologize. Worthless, arrogant, narcissistic scum. There is no thing greater than betraying one's own servicemen especially since she was a flat-out liar.

    She disgusts me, a detached

  • @beepandbop Well, many of them did kill civilians, if inadvertantly--remember My Lai?? Fonda has long since apologized--read her bio--what more do you want from the woman? Blame instead McNamara and Johnson for sending 50, 000 men to their deaths---see any apologies there? Would you have had the same opinion if Fonda had been a man?! Its a Double standard world!!!

  • @ccipollini1984 Couldn't have said it better.

  • Loved in "Cat Ballou" and "Barberella" and hated since her Vietnam BS.

  • She looks like her daughter Bridget.

  • @selatik1 niece

  • @selatik1 Bridget is actually Peter's daughter - Jane's niece

  • @selatik1 Bridget is her niece. She is the daughter of Peter Fonda--very attractive but she looks like Jane's mother Frances, nothing like Jane.

  • @calalilygirl I stand corrected. Thank you for pointing out my error. I actually already knew that Bridget Fonda is Peter's — not Jane's — daughter, but somehow I always get it turned around in my mind.

  • @selatik1 I didn't mean to sound like a know it all. I've just read so much about the Fondas, I feel I know them like the back of my hand. Bridget is pretty just like Jane though.

  • @calalilygirl No worries, mate. So, you might say that you're rather "fond o' Fonda"? :-)

What amazes me is that the panel figured out who it was in just over two minutes and only a dozen questions!

  • @selatik1 Yes Fond of their whole story really, but have always loved Jane. She is one of my very favorite actresses of all time.

  • That's right honey ! hahaha Love that woman :)

  • was this before or after she committed treason?

  • @jamsid33 according to IMDB She was the Mystery Guest 4 times 1960-1967 so I am guessing Long before.

  • she looks like the girl from the breakfast club

  • jane fonda ws a beautiful women and she still is

  • JANE FONDA.....ONE OF MY FAVORITE PEOPLE !

  • don't talk about her dad

  • When Jane Fonda's name comes up, it's always fascinating to witness my Baby Boomer brothers & sisters continuing to struggle over a war our country never learned to mourn ...

  • If the Viet people had to fight for their independence (from the French and later from the U.S.), why is that such a bad thing? They only turned to the Communist, because after WWII (where they fought with the Allies to expel the Japanese), the democratic countries fought against their struggle to become independent.

  • @hankaaron1961 US and French war against Viets was war crime.

  • Wow, completely different persona than prior appearance! Do you have the dates of each? Thanks!

  • Two down and two to go. Mr Serf your question.

Were you ever a stinking whore who sold out men rotting and tortured in communist prisons and felt really good about it?

  • @bush1tman your men did not be Gods, they were war criminals, they deserved this punishment for their war crimes on children, women

  • Blah, blah, blah. She apologized. Get over it.

  • She's hotter then anything out there today!

  • @berezin99 As much as I have despised her politics, over the years, I must agree 100 % with you about that! She is a fine actress and very beautiful. Siding with communists, however, taints her quite a bit, with me (unfortunately).

  • She didn't "side" with the communists.

I think you need your facts straight.

  • @ItBrandonSilver Then just what the HELL was she doing in NORTH VIETNAM? Selling Girl Scout cookies??? Oh, and don't tell me that marrying that COMMUNIST Tom Hayden doesn't count, either! I thnk you need to get the s*** out of your head!

  • Typical DUMBASS American.

She went to the North to protest the idiot Americans who were destroying Vietnam.

  • @ItBrandonSilver So, DUMBASS, that means that she sided with the COMMUNISTS! I noticed in your profile, btw, you list the United States as the place you live. If that is so, you must be one of those illegals in Arizona. Why don't you go back where you came from, then get in line to become a citizen the correct way.

  • @kyokogodai i was in the army fought ad i say the war was our mistake

  • @stickitupyourasteric It was "our" mistake that it wasn't fought with winning in mind. That frame of mind began in Korea, went entirely through Vietnam and continues to this day in Afghanistan. Why fight a war, if winning is not the desired outcome? Regardless of that, Jane still gave aid and comfort to the enemy, thus is a traitor the the United States of America. Because she got away with it, there are many that do the same thing, now. Shame is all they bring.

  • @ItBrandonSilver So, who destroyed your brain?

  • No one, I still have one, what happened to yours?

  • @ItBrandonSilver No, commie moron, a brainwash basin in NOT a brain

  • Hanoi Jane..the top NVA General in his autbio credited Jane with the winning of the war. DROP DEAD JANE!!!

  • Jane is 72 years old

  • I am NOT Fond Jane.... I remember VIET NAM... and her protest against OUR Troops!

  • What a doll

  • People are allowed to live and grow. Plenty of good people were critics of that war, and she later admitted that she naively allowed herself to be manipulated by the Vietcong; the incessant "she's a commie bitch" thing has gone on for too long.

Oh yes, in her prime she was hot but I've always had a thing for redheads.

  • Better seen than heard.

  • Clute

  • Incredible! She went on to win two Oscars and a good number of Oscar nominations. All well deserved to be sure!

  • She is so beautiful

    When he smiles I melt

    So bloody natrually beautiful

  • the "legitimate" stage!

  • damn she's old!

to know she was on this show during this period

  • @andeaver1937 Jane has always looked younger than her years. She's about 22 or 23 here.

  • Wow ...how cute! Adorable. Her first film is a joke though. Tony Perkins couldn't shoot a basketball or throw a baseball yet they put him in sports films. Go figure. Thank goodness for Psycho. Jane was to go on to bigger things. Klute. Coming Home. They Shoot Horses. Jane is hated by a few and loved by many. Count me among the latter.

  • The China Syndrome, still ranks as one of her best performances in my book.

  • I loved Tall Story!

  • She's so stunning, and she still is...9 to 5 was spectacular...LOL

  • Agree, gotta love Jane!

  • Beautiful and brave actress. Braver than many right-wing couch potatos who were pro-Vietnam from the safety of their home.

  • Beautifully put! Fuck 'em.

Fonda could have easily been a another blonde booby bimbo, but she chose to have a brain and stand up for her ideals..

    I applaud her.

  • Agree, love Jane she's perfect all around in my book.

  • You said it!

  • Brave. i agree well said

  • shes so prettie :]

    love her voice

  • Why are people still so threatened by this great actress and great beauty? She had convictions and felt strongly that what we were doing in Vietnam was wrong. The right wing always gets out the 'not a patriot' line when all else fails.

  • What happened in Vietnam was much more complicated than being simply right or wrong. The North Vietnamese' communist regime severely limited rights and freedoms, and to leave the South Vietnamese to the north's mercy would've been immoral.

Fonda's mistake was posing with the North Vietnamese Army, the enemy of the USA, Australia AND the South Vietnamese people, who were the real civilian casualties of the war. Posing with the NVA completely contradicted her sympathy for the South Vietnamese.

  • @chucknyc123 I completely agree with you. Jane had/has brains as well as beauty and the strength of her convictions--which we may disagree with--but its a free country.

  • Henry and Peter were both mystery guests together a few years later. Peter was plugging his first movie and his dad came alog to help.

  • Jane is too hot for this show.

  • Great comment--love it

  • And she still looks good now

  • Well, she went on to have a Fabulous career and win 2 Oscars..not bad at all.

  • Just love Jane Fonda--beautiful and talented!

  • Get. over. it.

  • You get over it, idjut..

  • she was gorgous and still is! of course I am 18 so the first movie i really saw her in was monster-in-law and i thought she was pretty but in her prime i know see she was gorgous!

  • You're very right about that----Jane was abd is phenomenal. She was an exceptional talent who I think surpassed her father who also was a great actor. She's mesmerising in anything she does. She's a real talent who should keep on acting til she dies.Such a waste she did no acting during the Ted Turner years... I said it then and now. Please, please keep acting Jane.

  • This is before her reputation was tarnished by her Vietnam War debacle. We ain't fond'a Hanoi Jane.

  • Oh no...you want to toast innocent people with napalm. And you dontlearn the lesson. Now are the Iraquis...And always a corrupt presidente doing the job. Nixon and Bush

You´ve done a great job...Dont dare to not accept such butchery

  • what year?

  • They mention her first film Tall Story, 1960

  • Love her dress. Women have more class and taste then. Today's women look like harlots.

  • Obviously in the '50s or early '60s women had great taste and grand style.I would say that today's women look like men! not only in clothes, also how women walk, and talk nowadays, they look and they behave like men!

  • so true but she took a long time to answer all the questions! she's a little slow?

  • @ConfusedSponge she was being playful...

  • @satchmola Naughty girl, eh?

  • Forget Fonda--Polly Bergen was HOT.

  • commie cunt bitch

Until it came to her selling those worthless exercise tapes. She learned how to be a capitalist real fast, didn't she?

She blamed Nixon for starting a war that Democrat Johnson started 5 years before Nixon was in office. Gulf of Tonkin resolution, Aug 2, 1964.

  • Johnson escalated Vietnam. American troops arrived in the late 50's under Eisenhower.

  • Escalated? From a few military advisers to 500,000 combat soldiers? That's liberal logic for you.

  • Johnson did not "escalate" the war? As of September 1963, there were 16,200 US troops/advisers in Vietnam, of which 82 had been killed. By 1968, troops had reached 500,000. Operation Rolling Thunder begins in March 1965. I am no fan of Johnson, but I respect Richard Nixon while still considering myself a liberal.

  • Actually, our involvement there goes back to the Eisenhauer Administration. There's plenty of blame to go around. As to Jane being a "commie", she like her "Coming Home" co-star Jon Voight, has gone through several stages of metamophasis. I don't view either one as a role model. How can they be when they keep changing?

  • Yes voice is very well known now

  • She's very beautiful

  • A very good-looking lady, no doubts. But an asshole.
