@MikeRawbertson yeah, it's called open handed playing. check out carter beauford of the dave matthews band, or simon philipps of toto. they do it too :)
Dude i absolutely love your touch! Also you know the second bass drum phase you use that hooks in with the guitar riff? Does that not occur in the first half of the verse aswell? Not a criticism at all i just don't know!
Dang you make it look so easy. I'm jealous froggy. I got no rhythm! I play saxophone, trumpet & flute, but OH how I wish I could play drums. Can't even play piano. I'm stuck in the one thing at a time syndrome, can't separate my body left from right. It's a one note at a time curse! Thanks for posting this, it' s cool to see it actually played while you listen. You are fantastic! Can you post some ELO & 70's rock?

LOL...LOVE U SCRATCHING YOUR BACK. HAHAHAHA. U CAN HOLD ON FOR SUCH A LONG TIME PLAYING THE SAME BEAT WITHOUT LOSING RHYTHM. I REALLY ADMIRE U, FROGGY.
dude your amazing... for anyone who wants a drum remix made of their favorite song or even a drum lesson on how to play it, sub me and tell me which song you want done!
Which would lead me to another question. What is the difference between the drummers that use lots of power (seemingly) and those drummers who seem to have quite an easy time when even playing the most demanding sets ?
Question then: Would training under a similar program be better than say.. another type of program? Also, I haven't seen anyone play the way you do with the right stick on the snare and not the left. Is this easier for you or more challanging?
I can't answer for him, but I play the same way. I'm left-handed and it just comes more naturally for me to do it that way. Perhaps a side-product of playing on a right-handed person's setup initially and just sticking with it that way instead of trying to move everything over to a lefty setup, but nowadays if I were to go to a left-handed setup I wouldn't be able to play it for shit.
@sooperfukker not just creating muscle, not just the neck and arms but more shoulder muscles and stronger wrists. It entails more muscle dexterity and its a great exercise especially if you play some type of heavy metal your legs create stronger glutes and thighs. Why you think that majority of drummers are skinny, no other band member from singers to guitarists can not complaint about pain while the drummer keeps the beat and some how maganes to pop his hip while playing, thats hap to me.
Yes!!! The Minnesota shirt at the end was just the icing on the cake! Great song above all, and great drumming! Do you play live anywhere in the Twin Cities? I'd be happy to bring out a group of people to catch a set any time!
