it doesnt matter where the performer comes from......music is universal & its biased assholes like some of you here that keep the hate taste in peoples mouths.....you're mostly just opinionated blowhards who probably couldnt even tune a guitar
Being both canadian and american, i have come across interesting lifestyles. the children(canadians) of the seventies grew up with many freedoms, hence freedom of emotional expressions through lyrics. where as american children grew up with a few more screwed up parents. Not to place blame, they fought a tuff few wars over the years and (american) children had restrictions on them a little more. Canada rocks!!! may the states learn from canadian morals, and get back to the basics of life.
-Denthedragon- " i so agree, lately i been listenen to some music and some canadians that stand out to me are "The Payolas" and their song Eyes of a Stranger, also the crash test dummies,. with superman's song.
I remembered when the Canucks went to the Stanley Cup Finals in 94. This was one of there Promo songs. Few yrs later it was one of my Grad songs, God I haven't heard this song since my graduation. When God created Music He said let there be Canadian Rockers that know how to Rock a Stadium, and there was, So God Created Gerry Doucette- to Rock that much harder.
@brood501 I blame Canada... for keeping North American music from completely sucking for as long as I've been alive. Probably longer, really. Thanks for getting our backs. Or tops, or whatever. ;)
i remember my buddy Jim Smith from Shoeless Joe band of Massachusetts had this album when i was about 13 yrs old...it fucking rocked! BTW...Jimmy Smith of Shoeless Joe rocked too! [i taught him his first 3 chords on guitar] :)
man this is like one of my favorit songs and i'm 15 and dont care wat u say this is like the ultimite best old song that i know lol sorry for making u guys/girls haha feel old lol ttyl!!:P:P
this is the best song Ilove it and I probably wouldn't know about it if it wern't for my dad who wanted me to make him a CD but still this is awsome know matter how lame the video is!!!
I have danced to this song over the years while out partying & love it!!! Ahhhh the memories....Been hearing this song for years. One of the classics that doesn't get enough air time on radio stations. I imagine when I'm 80 or so I'll still jump up & wanna dance to it!! Ahhhh the memories....
Doucette was good friends with my bother, they played a lot together. One new years eve he tried to give me a teaspoon of mustard to make me puke! lol Check out the Danny Tripper Tibute on my channel catch some pics of Doucette there too!
WOW! What a throw-back! I remember my friend Dave and I used to smoke a bone at another friend's house a couple of houses from Lock Haven High School then go in. That was 1978-79. My first exposure to Doucette and he's been with me ever since! I'd love to meet him.
It was 1979??!!! Wow, doesn't seem nearly that long ago. And I still love it too, and forever will. A classic! And I can't sit still either when I hear it, to this very day!
..very nice comment..extremely loving and caring..the wish for another human to commit suicide..you truly are a person of the times..what insight and upscale attitude..let's pray you wake up to your foolish mistake and retract it..like the 'man' you are..
..and another idiot joins the fray..while blaspheming the name of God's son..I guess inbreeding is more rampant than first thought..God forgive me but you re truly the epitome of "a useless piece of skin"..
I can honestly say I have not heard this song in two decades. It was a staple on KSHE in Saint Louis in the late-70's. Honestly, who cares about the video? The music is all you need!
I can't believe this is on here - thank you! We took Doucette to Myrtle Beach, SC on Spring Break in 1978. I asked my friend if she wanted a copy of Exile's greatest hits, she said, "Yes, and I'd like to find Doucette"!
