  • ewwwww schecter

  • Glad to see your face Andy :)

  • Whats the song at 4.40??? PLEASE!!!! hug!

  • how much this guitar weigh?

  • so is it a coil split or a coil tap?

  • sounds amazing

  • what song is that that starts at 5:20?

  • Hey guys, can someone please tell me what a guitar that looks just like this is, just without the top nob left hand corner?

    I need to know asap.

Thanks so much for your time in advance... :0)

  • is there a major difference between duncan designed pickups and seymour duncan pickups

  • @TheMetalhead804 Duncan Design Pickups are Seymour Duncan's asian made line of pickups which are generally used in cheaper guitars and arent available otherwise. Many people like to say that because they're made in asia they dont sound as good, but i A/Bed them with similar schecter guitars through the same amp at sam ash and the overseas ones souned pretty freaking close though.so other than being made in asia there is no difference, except a slight difference which only a gearhead could hear.

  • Finally a review where a guy can play some soulful music and not just metal! Love the coil splitting now...

  • Not sure if anyone asked this, but what songs were those when you were playing clean?

  • arch enemys guitarist mike amott uses this setup on an esp ninja v. (though hes with dean now as they pay better lol)

  • what is better for metal like Metallica, Ozzy Osbourne and Slipknot. The Schecter Damien Elite 6 or the Schecter C-1 Standard ?????

  • @FireBoa1 Elite

  • can i do modern day rock with this?

  • Do Schecter have any stockists in the UK?

  • whats the name of the song at 2:02

  • @sk8rman97 just got paid - ZZ top

  • This or an epiphone traditional les paul?

  • @RoDilllV fuck epiphone go for the schecter! I've had epis, esp, gibsons and schecter and imo ESP and Schecter are the best bang for your money

  • Liked "Just Got Paid",your 1st sample. Hoping you were copping the Travers version, which kicks ass...Some nice tones outta that bad boy....How is the neck profile on this? It'd be nice if it were a Les Paul chunky '59 profile....Most Schecter's I've played had a shallow speedy profile neck...nice demo....

  • Advice Andy or anyone who knows. I've only been playin for about 5 months on an acoustic and I think i'm ready to get an electric to expand my music a little bit. I try to play all types of music but i'm enjoying learning the blues the most, would this guitar be better or worse than the Epiphone Nighthawk that i'm planning on gettin? Thnx

  • @docB601 you'd be doing yourself a disservice by getting the Epi over this. I just got one, and I've never had a guitar that sounds better, feels better, or stays in tune better.

  • Andy may not have all the blistering licks and chops scotty has, but he makes some outstanding reviews

  • does this gutiar have a tumym cut ?

  • Has anyone tried this guitar with a bigmuff pedal? I use this sound a lot with my stoner rock band and I'd like to know if this guitar has a good fuzz sound. If anyone could answer it would help me a lot. Thank you.

  • I hate schecter. I cannot play them. They are not comfortable at all. I'm gonna stick with Ibanez...

  • @Chaz6993X Why are you watching this then?

  • @darkedgekilla He was just stating his opinion. lol

  • 2:40 - Amazing orgasm for my ears :D

    Love it ;)

  • Just got paid - ZZ top @ 2:00

  • I reconized this guy from the pedal videos!

  • Great vid. But this guitar has 24.75" scale, not 25.5. Unless Schecter's website is wrong....?

    Mitch

  • lol @ leads only your dog can hear

  • Hey PGS crew,

I was wondering if this guitar would be good for metal like avenged Sevenfold, Metallica, Megadeth, etc. Btw Amazing play andy!

    -Finn

  • @Finn867 I know im not PGS, but I can answer this. ITs not good for that. You want EMG pickups, and you want more than 22 frets. Id go with a hellraiser c1.

  • I like 3:30 to 3:40, that was very nice to my ears sir, thank you.

  • NICE review! What amp are you using???

  • what song is that at 2:03? Thanks,

    Mitch

  • @MitchRulzWorld just got paid by zztop

  • Awesome guitar..

Wonder what it would sound like with some EMG's...

  • @ZangetsuWielder try the schecter solo 6 hellraiser it has emg's

  • @ZangetsuWielder they have a version with EMG's but EMG's suck.

  • ehh i have a solo 6 but its styled like a hellraiser... i honestly have to say that i like my c-1 classic waaay better

  • as soon as i heard the first note i knew it had them cheap friggen duncan designed pickups in it. Once you get a nice guitar with good pickups you won't be able to stand these.

  • @bigtorquehemi What pickups do you prefer? If their crap why are they so popular? Why would Slash, Billy Gibbons and countless others use them if they were crap?

  • Is there a big difference wih the Solo 6 Classic or Custom ?

    Very good demo.

  • @ZeMagik there is a SH11 in the classic (SH4 here) the only difference i saw between the two descriptions.

  • i had to choose between epiphone les paul standard and this and i took this its more comfortable a little bigger price not much though but im not disapointed im playing through roland 30 watt cube and it rocks

  • do this or the solo 6 custom have a lacquer finish?

  • is it me or does he have tiny hands?....reminds me of that burger king commercial

  • Why did Schecter go with a 24.75" scale and medium frets on most of their 2010 guitars? Isn't a 25.5" scale and jumbo frets more appealling to Schecter's market?

  • @Robertspurling 24.75 scale is the gibson scale, probably why they did it that way...

  • I know, but they should have taken the les paul style and adapted it for their own market. Schecter fans are usually metal or rock fans, and I bet the majority prefer a 25.5" scale and jumbo frets. I understand if they want to expand their market, but why make ALL the standards and customs (including the C-1's) 24.75" with medium frets.

  • - Andy what were you plying this through the plexi ? you didnt mention it in the video

thanks alot for all you videos!

  • Fender DRRi

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos Will you be posting a review of the Solo Vinatge? It's the only one I can't find a review for anywhere and you guys do the best reviews!

  • Schecter guitars rule. Too bad they discontinued the Tempest Classic. That was a great guitar.

  • Sounds good! Is the flame maple a real cap or a veneer?

  • At 2:02 it is Just got Paid by ZZ Top

  • whats the song at 2:02

  • Schecter is one of the best values on the market today. I have been shopping for a 7-string and comparing many models and manufacturers, and Schecter was the best in price AND quality.

  • @tony93666 hell yes

  • @tony93666 I am actually shopping for a 2nd 7 string, preferably a Les Paul shaped one. I hate the fact that ESP doesn't make a 7 string model of the Eclipse. I would buy an Ibanez if their necks weren't so thin. Anyway I called Schecter a month ago and they said they plan on making a Schecter Solo 7 model which got me really excited. I'm not a huge fan of the shape of the Solo mainly because it's slightly slanted but whatever. I'm buying one when the 7 string comes out. But Schecter is the best

  • @tony93666 i've played lots of different Schecter guitars, and i'm now playing a Hellraiser c1 fr DAMN! it is so much better than other guitars in the same price range! Schecter will never dissapoint you!

  • Nice review Andy!

  • Review the Solo 6 Special, Andy!

  • What's he playing @ 4:10? Anyone know?

  • Dany, you are simply the best.

  • Where's the Solo 6 VINTAGE?

  • very cool I like the neck volute,like a 70'S lp

  • Hey, Andy never did say which amp you were running through? Just curious, and I've been wanting see this guitar in action thanks.

  • plexi.

  • I'm not a fan of that distorted tone at all, but the clean was really nice at least.

  • It's probably more of a dirt box/amp issue with the distortion. Most guitars that sound good clean, sound good dirty.

  • damn nice amp back there..

  • Review the gibson signitures like Bucketheads

    ...Please

  • good playing. nice licks.

  • what song is at 3:30?

  • what's he playing at 3:55 onwards? it sounds very nice. nice chord colours

  • Yeah, nicest part of the video for me.

  • @rrippp did you fint out wich song that was?

  • That's a FAT tone!!

  • great :)

    so damn ugly though

  • @MrManson94 Come on! Andy is handsome!

  • what did he play at 2:03

  • @nightslayer500 ZZ top- Just got paid

  • @pbphilip thanks :)

  • another great demo andy!

  • what type of wood body would anyone suggest for playing metal

  • mahogany, the woods not all that important though

  • @misterdyou

have you tried basswood it giveas you a really fat sound. i like mahogany and basswood those are my favorites

  • mahagony (spelling?) is my personal favorite for metal

  • cant say i like the pickups too much, sound abit to flat but then could always be the way it was recorded

  • I'm mostly a fender person but I love the look of this guitar!

  • giant knobs o.O

  • Great mids! Almost seemed a cocked wah!

  • What is the song play at 2:03? I should probably know it but I can't remember what it is.

  • I think its "Just got paid" by ZZ Top

  • yea thats just got paid

  • C1 blackjack :D

    really good guitar

  • Andy, don't let your talent and your skill go to waste... unless you are currently playing in a band. do so immediately!

On a technical note: what was the delay used? And what amp was it?

  • Yes i like hearing andy play he is mezmerizing

  • Andy, what Marshall are you playing through, if I may ask?

Schecter has really taken up some of my interest lately. I really should check one out in person!

  • @DemoColorScheme i think that he is using the vox on this video. i may be wrong though :D

  • The marshall is a 1987x I think.

  • What model exactly? Never heard of a 1987 x - to be honest.

  • @DemoColorScheme It's a reissue of the 50-watt Plexi model (1987 was the model number).

  • I see! Thanks for the explanation. That's all I asked for. Cheers for the kindness!

  • its the plexi reissue

  • @DemoColorScheme i think he's playing through that Vox AC30 he's got there

  • Hm, could be! It does sound very Marshally, to me. I'm more of a Fender / Mesa kind of guy so have never really bothered with Marshall's, until now.

(and no need to thumb me down for asking a question)

  • it really creeps me out that andy never uses an pick and still plays soooo good.

  • What's the song at 4:38?

  • schecter rockes

    and nice voice XD

  • hey do u ship to india??also what is the extra charge on the shipping to india?

    thanks alot andy

  • Andy - Technical question. I asked at the site but nobody responds. What software do you use to overlay the text ("bridge pickup".... "clean channel"...etc.... on your videos ? Is it all done in iMovie or something else?

Love the demos- check them out nightly. Thx.

  • It's all done with Sony Vegas. Thanks!

    -Andy

  • Thanks man for the reply - pls ignore the repeat question tonight. I'm never sure where these comments go or if you actually see them - they vaporize after I leave them. . Keep up the great work - maybe I'll stop out next time in the Pacific NW.

  • Wow, Schecter guitars are awesome, I would love to see you guys do a demo of a schecter tempest custom. I want one so Bad!!!

  • whatever happened to Scotty?

  • Andy you've got one of the most unique finger picked styles I've ever seen.

  • hey Andy what guitars do you use when you play live? And is there a piece of gear that you can't live without (cables don't count)?

    rock on man!

  • Comment removed

  • and I JUST GOT PAID TODAYYYYYYYYYY got me a pocket full of channnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnge

  • Love Schecter. Playability is amazing, and the stock pickups actually sound great, in my opinion.

  • the duncan designed arnt that great, they are "modeled after" a 59 set, so they arnt a 59 set and are not a high quality and sweet sounding

  • What's the song at 4:40? Great riff

  • Looks suspiciously similar to the Godin LG Signature. Same pups too.

  • Not the same pick ups....just the same pick up cover. Theres a humucker underneath the cover.

  • When you coil tap a humbucker does it display really authentic single coil tones? Does it hum?

  • coil tapping is cutting off the signal to one of the coils in the humbucker.....so it is an actual single coil when the tone knob is pulled out.

  • need more distortion AHH i mean cowbell...*hides gun*

  • Wow, you can't even joke about Andy's sweater, with all these Andy worshippers around here.

The headstock ruins it for me, on this guitar. How many thumbs down will I get for that?

  • Ya, that headstock looks awful.

  • It screams HEAVY METAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @willievega

Not sure, but I just gave you a +1

  • i have the hellraiser solo 6

  • Dude, seems like you're always wearing some kind of long sleeve sweater thing in a dark color. Don't you get hot? Don't you have a collared shirt? How 'bout a nice fuchsia?

  • its for covering his Disney tattoos!

  • maybe it's the audio quality or the amp, but it seems to sound a little strange.

  • That could easily be the microphone placing

  • Well I head a lot of midrange - probably from the Vox/Alnico Blue combination. However, Youtube's audio is SUPER compressed. The demos on the PGS website have CD quality audio. Try the videos there - there could be a difference.

    Rock on

    -TC4L

  • or the fact that he is not using a pick

  • Its funny they call it Solo, which has the less prefered neck for solo.

  • Nice. Seems very Les Paul-ish.
