@TheMetalhead804 Duncan Design Pickups are Seymour Duncan's asian made line of pickups which are generally used in cheaper guitars and arent available otherwise. Many people like to say that because they're made in asia they dont sound as good, but i A/Bed them with similar schecter guitars through the same amp at sam ash and the overseas ones souned pretty freaking close though.so other than being made in asia there is no difference, except a slight difference which only a gearhead could hear.
Liked "Just Got Paid",your 1st sample. Hoping you were copping the Travers version, which kicks ass...Some nice tones outta that bad boy....How is the neck profile on this? It'd be nice if it were a Les Paul chunky '59 profile....Most Schecter's I've played had a shallow speedy profile neck...nice demo....
Advice Andy or anyone who knows. I've only been playin for about 5 months on an acoustic and I think i'm ready to get an electric to expand my music a little bit. I try to play all types of music but i'm enjoying learning the blues the most, would this guitar be better or worse than the Epiphone Nighthawk that i'm planning on gettin? Thnx
@docB601 you'd be doing yourself a disservice by getting the Epi over this. I just got one, and I've never had a guitar that sounds better, feels better, or stays in tune better.
Has anyone tried this guitar with a bigmuff pedal? I use this sound a lot with my stoner rock band and I'd like to know if this guitar has a good fuzz sound. If anyone could answer it would help me a lot. Thank you.
@Finn867 I know im not PGS, but I can answer this. ITs not good for that. You want EMG pickups, and you want more than 22 frets. Id go with a hellraiser c1.
as soon as i heard the first note i knew it had them cheap friggen duncan designed pickups in it. Once you get a nice guitar with good pickups you won't be able to stand these.
@bigtorquehemi What pickups do you prefer? If their crap why are they so popular? Why would Slash, Billy Gibbons and countless others use them if they were crap?
i had to choose between epiphone les paul standard and this and i took this its more comfortable a little bigger price not much though but im not disapointed im playing through roland 30 watt cube and it rocks
Why did Schecter go with a 24.75" scale and medium frets on most of their 2010 guitars? Isn't a 25.5" scale and jumbo frets more appealling to Schecter's market?
I know, but they should have taken the les paul style and adapted it for their own market. Schecter fans are usually metal or rock fans, and I bet the majority prefer a 25.5" scale and jumbo frets. I understand if they want to expand their market, but why make ALL the standards and customs (including the C-1's) 24.75" with medium frets.
@ProGuitarShopDemos Will you be posting a review of the Solo Vinatge? It's the only one I can't find a review for anywhere and you guys do the best reviews!
Schecter is one of the best values on the market today. I have been shopping for a 7-string and comparing many models and manufacturers, and Schecter was the best in price AND quality.
@tony93666 I am actually shopping for a 2nd 7 string, preferably a Les Paul shaped one. I hate the fact that ESP doesn't make a 7 string model of the Eclipse. I would buy an Ibanez if their necks weren't so thin. Anyway I called Schecter a month ago and they said they plan on making a Schecter Solo 7 model which got me really excited. I'm not a huge fan of the shape of the Solo mainly because it's slightly slanted but whatever. I'm buying one when the 7 string comes out. But Schecter is the best
@tony93666 i've played lots of different Schecter guitars, and i'm now playing a Hellraiser c1 fr DAMN! it is so much better than other guitars in the same price range! Schecter will never dissapoint you!
Andy - Technical question. I asked at the site but nobody responds. What software do you use to overlay the text ("bridge pickup".... "clean channel"...etc.... on your videos ? Is it all done in iMovie or something else?
Thanks man for the reply - pls ignore the repeat question tonight. I'm never sure where these comments go or if you actually see them - they vaporize after I leave them. . Keep up the great work - maybe I'll stop out next time in the Pacific NW.
Dude, seems like you're always wearing some kind of long sleeve sweater thing in a dark color. Don't you get hot? Don't you have a collared shirt? How 'bout a nice fuchsia?
Well I head a lot of midrange - probably from the Vox/Alnico Blue combination. However, Youtube's audio is SUPER compressed. The demos on the PGS website have CD quality audio. Try the videos there - there could be a difference.

Not the same pick ups....just the same pick up cover. Theres a humucker underneath the cover.
bigtorquehemi 2 years ago
When you coil tap a humbucker does it display really authentic single coil tones? Does it hum?
kleydj13 2 years ago
coil tapping is cutting off the signal to one of the coils in the humbucker.....so it is an actual single coil when the tone knob is pulled out.
