Hehe! I got something like this from my L.violaceopes. I was disturbing her getting the water dish out. She held the threat pose 25 minutes after I was finished cleaning it and returning the dish to the cage. X-D

by it's super aggressive behaviour I was sure it was a funnel web but I checked the scientific name, it's the cobalt blue tarantula (Haplopelma lividum)

Nothing, it's about as venomous as your average bee sting (The only real danger in it's venom is if you're allergic.). But the fangs. The fangs are a different story. They can rip you to the point where you need stitches.

GET THAT CAMERA OUT OF MY FACE!!! lol your tarantula is very pretty. I want one so much, but my family says no. The prettier ones seem to have bigger attitudes...I noticed yours only did the threat display, and didn't throw hair. I worry more about that than bites. I've heard that if you breathe in those hairs it could kill you... I'm sure that's a rare occurence. Sorry for such a long comment, I just love spiders! Well...some kinds.

I'd also say, you should stick to terrestrial species in the beginning, since they are generally slower and a bit easier to care for.

Species from the Brachypelma genus (ex. Brachypelma smithi, or B. albopilosum) are good for beginners, and there's also the Chilean rose (Grammostola rosea).
