I don't think they soldout, selling out is when you make the music people want you to just so you can keep being famous and I don't think either of these bands have done that, however if you do, that's your opinion.

They sold all of their music to WMG, made a video game, made a broadway music show, signed to a major label, endoursed Converse all stars. But back in the day, Green day was still punk. it's funny how some of you try to define punk in terms of what is a sell out and what isn't. "green day is not punk"..who fucking cares!! it's music. as for punk rock, it's an ideal and you can't kill that. it's in the minds and hearts of every generation that wants a change in this world. it began with the dada movement in the 20s, the beatnicks in the 50s and for now we have punk rock...which is still around..just look a bit harder and you will still find some angry kids playing three chords.

If anything, this film will expose teenagers and youngsters to better music which they might have otherwise never learned about. Everyone needs to stop acting like they went from being a kid to listening to Crass records overnight. The point of a doc. is to educate and this film is about as objective as it gets, letting the viewer get both POVs. Just chill out, listen to what others have to say and be thankful this movie isn't the self-indulgent myth-creating hogswill that is American Hardcore.
