This was a really helpful tutorial, I used it to make not only a portal but I made the ground floor of my house out of obsidian too using this method.

Use the exact seed gimmeabreak to spawn in an npc village and the exact seed gimmieabreak to spawn in a snow biome next to huge lava pit i found the last one out myself when i misspelled the first one

Use the seed Valhalla, I spawned on top of a cliff and saw a dessert biome with a lava pit and to the far left another lava pit, and farther up ahead, a village. Keep going into the next forrest you see, there should be at least 14 wolves and a bunch of pigs.
