I have never seen this series, but I saw Gundam Wing was the original series and has the same elements as Gundam Seed, and I will tell you that Gundam Wing is pretty good so I think that Gundam Seed is also good.
Only thing bad for the GW series plot of the story is a little tricky to understand if you have not seen the earlier chapters, or if you any mercy.
