Here in Portland, there were four heroin overdoses in the Occupy camp, a firebomb was tossed at a building from one of the protesters and police had to respond to numerous assaults and a rape in camp. Not to mention the bio-hazard that existed due to lack of sanitation facilites. Yes, it was total chaos. And it was a danger to society.
