You're an idiot. Rice and blow drying it is completely okay, and in fact is probably much better than just letting it air dry, with the chance of water actually seeping down more inside the phone...You failed hard.

yea.... i pushed every button on the phone, turned it off and on like 5 times, kept taking the battery out. then I come look online and I realize I also did the worst possible thing. oh well I am trying the rice method right now so I will check it tomorrow once its been 24 hrs.

@TheStaticInc yeah i fucken tryed plugging mine into an outlet like 10 mins after i dropped it in water then tryed turning it on repeatedly for like 2 hours it just kept saying to plug it in to a charger and when i would id get the red battery sign but it wouldnt turn on i put it in rice like 30 mins after dropping it in water but i never took the sim card out because i dont have the key to the sim card port

You actually put it in a bag off rice not in the sun and don't turn it on cause it will just fry the whole system and that's it. I dropped my iPod touch in water and did this and after a week i turned it on and it was fine.
