I read the book written by Molly and her daughter, but apparently, there are many gross inaccuracies in the movie. Like they weren't kidnapped, their mother willingly gave them up. They also weren't kept in cages, they were put on a boat and given pretty dresses to wear. It's kind of frustrating when the movie gets more attention than the book that Molly ACTUALLY wrote.
@salihseyma61 Daisy and Molly successfully run away and come home but Gracie is caught again and was never seen again, died without ever seeing her family :(. Then they also told how they were re-kidnapped but came home again.
omg i remember this, back in aus, when i was a kid in primary skwl, they made us sit in a dark room and watch this (2 yrs in a row) Both times i nearly cried when they take them away from their mum but then i kinda laughed when the grandma hits her head with a rock lol but still sad.
Great movie! Its one of those movies that ppl should watch... maybe teach some kids about rascism and why its wrong...
if the story is really true then it is the worst example how disgusting and pathetic some men could be! What kind of racist belief can drive some men to do such crazy thing! Shameful act not only for themselves but for the society and country they live in.
@srisaikat it is true. the two women at the end of the movie are the real women that suffered through this. there are only two because Gracie did not return after they re-kidnapped her after they got home. its horrifying to know they could do such terrible things to children just because they are mixed. I can't imagine being taken away from my mother (im mixed)
the sad thing is they werent intentionally being 'evil' and 'sadistic'. the 'white australians' beleived that they were doing the politically correct thing, that tearing children away from their families and natural homes, sticking them in camps, making them work and raising them in an effort to stamp out the black colour was helpful.
@poupeejolie of course, we now really do acknowledge the horrible errors of our past with the stolen generation. Our Prime Minister Kevin Rudd made a formal nationwide apology to all Aboriginal families who suffered from it a couple of years ago/
dieses thema machen wir zur zeit in englisch und ich bin erschüttert dass es so etwas auf unserer welt gibt ! die armen kinder zum glück ging dass am ende gut aus aber trotzdem spitzen video !
