My dad got lyme disease a few years back on a trip to TN but luckily he didn't have any serious implications. It took awhile, but he got back to normal. God bless the people that have serious problems from Lyme, like Candice's friend Teri. :(
Sorry I know how it is. Be careful of the pesticides, esp the spray ones they are recently implicated in Parkinson's and Parkinson's Dementia. Back east they are working on installing "4-posters" with the EPA approved pesticide in rollers - rolls it on the deer as they munch on corn and keeps it out of the ground and water supply this way. 90% kill of ticks within 2 years. Would make a heck of a public service grant project! Hope you recover fully Candice - it is possible luv
I love Candice's passion for getting the message out. I've known about the disease for a long time but I've hardly heard any thing about it in the media until Candice.
Trust me we had tons of bug spray and we all used it! The point of filming her was that you always have to be vigilant. This spot is in a park in the middle of L.A. There are other spots filmed on this day that show the city in the background.
I have Lyme but I will never give up my love of the outdoors.
sorta makes me uncomfortable, her crouched in those reeds/grass. TY for bringing the devastation that is Tick-Borne disease to light. Unfortunately, the research hasn't caught up with this epidemic. People have No Idea.
Candice ... you are a rare and devoted friend who has plunged wholeheartedly into this grave cause in honor of your friend, Teri. Since you were a little girl, you were always so sweet and kind ... you're still that way as a beautiful young woman. Our family is so indebted to you. We love you very much! And I'm still crying from that amazing PSA! Love you -- Helen Raser
This brought me to tears, Candice. Thank you so much for being such a loving and supportive friend to Teri. This means more to her (and our entire family) than you'll ever know. :)
Wow... the cast of VD is so active outside the screen - look at Nina and Sara on Go-Green Campaign, Ian Somerhalder in Louisiana, and now Candice on Lyme! You guys are really caring people, luff you all :)

It also made me so sad at the end when she said something so nice like that. I really hope this PSA makes it to air on Fox 5 Atlanta.
