WHEN ARE YOU MORONS GOING TO PULL YOUR SORRY HEADS OUT OF YOUR CRUSTY HOLES AND REALIZE THAT THE PRIVATE SECTOR DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR WELL BEING, THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT PROFITS!!!
I LOVE this man!!! He is SO REFRESHING!!!! Did you see the video BEFORE this? The one where he showed us the REPUBLICAN PLAN for health care in America? 1. Don't get sick 2. If you DO get sick, DIE QUICKLY..then , the Republicans were FURIOUS with this man for saying the truth, and wanted HIM to APOLOGIZE to THEM! HOW ARROGANT CAN THESE REPUBLICANS GET? This is not about THEM, it is about HUMAN LIVES...this man is simply trying to shake things up, he is trying to send a HARSH message...KUDOS
@XcoldshadowX I care because of two reasons both of them selfish. There is a third reason that some feel is important but I don't think it need apply here because it is cheaper to pay people to collect the dead bodies and burn them than to bother with any sort of health care. Since we have a high unemployment rate, obviously we don't need the extra workers. There are lots of people in China etc that can make the things we want even if we run completely out of americans.
@XcoldshadowX - Your right, nobody cares, outside of the immediate family and friends. Of course, i doubt anybody would care if you died, because birds aren't born, they are hatched and they only cluck about all of their lives! Are you a reptilian?
@dikroxem Your right Your right Your right Your right Your right Your right Your right Your right Your right Your right Your right Your right Your right Your right Your right Your right Your right Your right Your right Your right Your right Your right Your right Your right Your right Your right Your right Your right Your right
It's the way hospitals and banks and insurance agencies manipulate choice. Its has to do with poor disclosure. It has to do with how our signatures are used without our knowledge.
What we(the libertarians) are afraid of is not public health care, though it is touchy, but rather what else was snuck into the huge bill that NO ONE READ!
@jtizz711 The health care bill was reviewed by armies of political opponents, insurance company lawyers, libertarians and legal experts. The claim that "no one read" it is just one of those lies that is used by political folks who want to spred FUD about a good bill.
Immediately I lose all respect for the credibility of anyone who compares a democratically elected US politician to Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, Mussolini, Tojo, etc. It's astounding how historically retarded so many Americans are about stuff that was going on just twenty or thirty years ago, when the Soviet Union was around.
@ebonics4everyone - If the shoe fits...Just so you know, it's not Hitler' Final Solution that draws the comparisons, but his style of governing. The left has a lot of fascism in their actions. Don't forget that "Nazi" comes from National SOCIALIST. BTW, every position in government that Hitler assumed, he did so legally.
@bobojoe1 - I'm sure every politician EVERYWHERE there are, or were, free elections has done it the same way. My point was that Hitler was elected and/or assumed his positions in Germany legally. He didn't steal any elections or assume power through a military coup or anything. We have to be alert or the same thing can happen here.
@UGalum A more expanded quote of his is "We are going to send more college graduates to teach and mentor our young. We will call on Americans to join an energy corp to conduct renewable energy and environmental clean up projects in their neighborhoods all across the country. We will enlist our veterans to to find jobs and support for other vets and be there for our military families.
@UGalum Hitler took away freedoms and had the SS paroling the streets to quell any opposition. The Nazis were not socialist, even if it was in their name. No common ownership of land = no socialism. They were closer to a fascist government, but not quite.
@bobojoe1 - Obama is taking away OUR freedoms, and he suggested a "civilian defense force" (which is unconstitutional, BTW). Don't tell me that forcing the purchase of a commodity doesn't infringe on my freedoms, in this case my freedom to decide what I wish to own. I wasn't discussing socialism in theory, but in practice. State ownership is state ownership, no matter what name you attach to it. And Socialism in practice is not one jot different than Fascism. Both nationalize industry.
@UGalum About the "civilian national security force", you were mislead by a sound bit. Search "A Call To Service steviey99" and it is the only video to come up. Wait until the end and you will see he was talking about doubling the Peace Corp and expanding AmeriCorp. He was using a metaphor for saying that the American people helping the community is our second national security force
@bobojoe1 - On July 2, 2008, in Colorado Springs ,CO Obama said the following in a speech: "We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded." There is nothing to infer from those words. He was NOT referring to Peace Corp or Americorp expansion..
@UGalum The words seem pretty obvious but please take it on the good faith that I just watched the preceding 5 minutes in a video you can find by searching "A Call To Service steviey99" (no quotes in the search).
@ebonics4everyone - We should have asked Chappaquiddick Ted about the Soviets when he was still alive. Under oath. Seems the youngest Kennedy Bro had a tight working relationship with those guys, especially when it came to furthering his own career along. A lot of the crap he pulled with Ivan we might call treason...in fact, we would be for anyone NOT named Senator Ted Kennedy, D-MA.
@bobojoe1 - Huh? As in, what are you talking about? You might want to re-read my comment about your hero, because you obviously didn't understand it the first time.
@bobojoe1 - I don't mean to offend you, but Ted Kennedy was a hypocrite to his faith, his nation, and the American people. Those in Massachusetts may appreciate what he did as their representative, but the rest of America was not served so well by him. Dead or alive, he simply doesn't deserve respect.
@UGalum He isn't saying we need a national militia. He was saying we need to come together to secure our nation by helping our neighborhoods, mentoring our young, and helping our vets. But doing this, we will secure the nation. If you watch the 3 minutes preceding the quote you said, you will see that's what he was saying. Don't take it from me, search "A Call To Service steviey99" (no quotes in the search).
Republicans today should read a book about the Cold War. From Truman to Reagan presidents from both parties stood down an aggressive USSR with nuclear warheads pointed at the heart of the USA. What a bunch of bitch pussies the Republicans of today are to claim that the democratically elected Democrats in Congress are in any way the same thing as the Soviet Union. Reagan would be ashamed of you milquetoasts.
Shut your mouth you POS. This moron lost the election because he's a sorry sack of shit.
BTW - Typical black. Support Obama only because he's black. LOL......also, must piss you off that MLK was a Republican. He stood on his own unlike the scumbags in the NAACP today.
@HokiesAndDawgs I don't judge, but you realize that is racist right? I believe you can be a good person and be racist so that wasn't a personal attack, just fact
Grayson for Pres. Social programs aren't evil. If you think they are, then you must hate libraries, public schooling, your letter carrier (postman), police officers, etc. These are all what's called 'social programs'. Are they evil? Well, if they are, then tell your local mayor to get rid of the Police, because anything socialist is evil, and let the gangs run your city.
This is one very nasty man. He will not be back, the American people have determined that liars and cheats don't fit in anymore. It's on to 2012 to rid ourselves of the other socialists in DC.
@joesphx19 So America is now the former Soviet Union? Grayson must be ... what ... Stalin? I wonder why Grayson let himself lose the election. Where are the Bolshevik thugs killing anyone who dares oppose Grayson? You, sir, are an idiot.
I am truly sorry you believe I am an idiot. I just want you to know I cried all day when I first read this. I, I never meant to hurt anyone, I am a very nice person and have a family and a dog. I even feed the squirrels that are not in my neighborhood. I am a very sensitive man. Oh btw, if the socialists/communists ever try to do what ever it is you think they should do to us, well, let's just say all that magnificent mil training my country gave me won't be wasted.
I didn't find out until about 10 min. ago, but this buffoon, Alan Grayson is planning on challenging Dan Webster in 2012. Let's hope he doesn't even make it past the primary like he did in 2008!
Aw...Alan Grayson lost. He will NOT be missed. I didn't realize that there was a an official reason called "Did Not Have Insurance" that doctors could put on Death Certificates. What kind of garbage research is this? I can't believe Harvard would allow this bullshit to be published with their name associated to it.. Then again, they let this dick-cheese attend their school. How did these "researchers" come up with their empirical data? This is total crap...and Grayson is a turd, too.
@UGalum Harvard is full of rich pricks like John Kerry and JFK. If you want objectivity go to Bob Jones University or, as we on the socialist left like to call it, BJU.
@ebonics4everyone - One thing Grayson is NOT is a rich prick. He worked his way through Hah-vahd as a janitor, among other low-on-the-food-chain jobs. HE'S a prick for so many other reasons...
Alan Grayson, we'll miss you and your tough honesty. Please come back next election! We need you even more now that the radical right is sliming back into office.
@tripleshackrecords1 Twain was right about most of what he said, especially the stuff he said about Christian morality. Unfortunately Missouri has gone from producing intellectuals like him to toad stools like Rush Limbaugh. It's actually become more conservative over the past 150 years.
The real dim bulbs were the people who didn't vote. The Republicans only won, because so many Democrats didn't think midterm elections mattered. We did the historical thing and voted Obama and then dozed off
@HokiesAndDawgs Do you know who else lost the majority during the midterm elections? Reagan and Clinton. I recall those both being two term presidents. If their asses were kicked then why do they still have the senate? Why is harry reid still is office? The Republican wave was just a ripple. The tea party movement is weak.
@bobojoe1 - Uh, you're semi-incorrect, and a little confused, about Reagan and mid-terms. He NEVER had a majority to lose in the House, and the Senate changed hands in his SECOND term, thus having no effect on his chances for re-election.
Harry Reid only had to win Nevada, which has less than a million voters. The elections are widely seen by both sides as a rejection of Obama's policies. Dems ran AWAY from him and still lost. You can comfort yourself however you'd like, though.
@bobojoe1 - Not quite. George Bush was elected in the next presidential election 2 years later. And Reagan never had a majority in the House to lose. He had a slim majority that was lost in the Senate, but as I said, he was already into his second term. The point that was being contended was that losing mid-term elections doesn't necessarily doom a president to one term. While I agree, those conditions weren't applicable to Reagan.
@UGalum We are going to grow our foreign service, open consulates that have been shuttered, and double the size of the peace corp by 2011 to renew our diplomacy. We cannot continue to rely on only our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we've set, we need a civilian security force that is just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded"
@bobojoe1 - He's talking about two distinctly different things. Yes, he wants to expand the Peace Corps, but he also fully intends on developing a civilian defense force. The words in Obama's speech are unequivocal - and Charles Rangel just introduced the legislation in the House. It calls for a uniformed civilian defense. As I said before, that is explicitly unconstitutional. The legislation won't go anywhere, but it's indicative of just how far this administration will push.
@UGalum That's like saying I support mass genocide of pigs if I say "This bacon is good, I glad we killed that pig". Context matters; You don't talk about one thing for 2:50 and make start and finish an entirely new idea with the last 10 seconds. Just looking at the last 10 seconds takes it out of its context..
If this bill is real, tell me the HR number and I'll check it out.
@bobojoe1 - I don't follow your logic, but whatever. I listened to the same video. I heard very distinct, separate ideas that were part of one larger theme. The bill is HR 5741 - the Universal National Services Act. It provides for a national defense force of, for lack of a better word, "voluntary" conscripts...to be made available when the president deems an emergency or in a state of war. It does not specify what emergencies would be included, nor how the state of war would be declared.
@UGalum Lets let govetrack dot us provide the context here "For context, Congressman Rangel has introduced this bill many times in the past. Each time, it has received very little support, and Rangel knows it has no chance of being passed." This isn't Obama's idea and has been introduced by Rangel in the past.. I can't find an Obama endorsement anywhere on the web. And you are wrong, the law makes service compulsory.
@bobojoe1 - This is NOT the same bill that Rangel introduces every 3 or so years. Those sought purely to reinstate the draft. This bill, without the draft, is claimed by Rangel himself to have administration support. He also claims that the bill was re-worked with administration assistance. Is he lying? Possibly, but the fact remains that the bill has been amended substantially this time around.
I got the conscription part right, but the voluntary part was mistaken. I stand corrected.
@UGalum Okay, I guess we have to agree to disagree. I hope we can at least say that we understand each other better now and see that the other isn't an idiot or irrational.
@bobojoe1 - it definitely beats the alternative. At heart, I don't trust politicians of any stripe, or the establishment. Our immigration problem has been willfully ignored by the GOP AND Democrats, and PC attitudes prevented us from being more active in policing Islamic terrorists under both parties, too. Nidal Hasan was being promoted the entire time that Bush was in office, plus a few years of the Clinton administration. Clinton failed to take bin Laden out a few times because of it, too.
Alan, the house has called you back in session this week...
Now clean out your desk !!!! YOUR FIRED ~~~!!!!!!!!
America wants your political career to....DIE QUICKLY !!!!!
Hlaaah...Haaaaa.....haaa...Blahhh...Haaaa......political career to....DIE QUICKLY....Hlaaaa.....HAAAAA....... Pzsttttttttttttt...... PISS ON GRAYSON.
Grayson is tough like Roosevelt.... He needs to run for president.... This guy won't weaken under pressure.... This is the tough democrat the American people need.
@funkyflights Grayson is an ignorant slob. He is so concerned about the lives of Americans, and yet he supports a government that destroys jobs, raises taxes, and lets illegal aliens get a free ride through the American education, entitlement, and health-care system. Roosevelt didn't do anything for America, just raised the debt level. The reason we came out of the depression was because Europe bought billions of dollars worth of war materials. Put that in your ignorant pipe and smoke it.
WRONG!!! de-regulation behind the right wing agenda destroyed America as we knew it.... remember back in the day MASSIVELY huge banks and corporations didn't run the country like they do now.... You can't de-regulate and expect the free market to be ok when giant corporations cross state lines and monopolize...... think about it....
@funkyflights Many people don't seem to understand that "regulation" is just the making of rules for the game. Without regulation, there really is no such thing as a market. You need contract law and courts and rules that prevent abuses to have a market that works. "Deregulation" took the rules away and we ended up with a mess. This is not a surprise.
@TheXerxes004 I suggest you go back and look at the dates. The US economy was growing nicely from late 1933 to about 1937. This was before the war in Europe. In 1937 and 1938 there was a bit of a pull back when Roosevelt suddenly tried to move to a balanced budget and the war in Europe was in fact starting. This myth about WW-2 fixing the great depression is just that, a myth, but many seem to believe it even though the fact can be easily found that show it is false.
Dem's still hold the Senate and they still hold the presidency so go fuck yourself... If you think republicans are gonna fix Washington your a fucking tool... All they side with is big corporations and supporting jobs overseas... YOU need to open your fucking eyes...
@satancouldkillyounow -Damn skippy he was an ambulance chaser. Whistleblower, my ass. I lived in Orlando when he was elected...he's always been a jackass. I was glad to move soon after Congress opened their 111th session with him. He had already established himself as one of the bigger assholes on the Hill and had only been in the House for about 3 months. I bet before his term is over he'll embarrass himself at least one more time. Good riddance to this hare-lipped prick with ears.
@bootgrayson Grayson is one of those rare instances of an honest and smart politician. He is under attack from those who just can't stand the fact that he is looking out for the people of Florida and not the corporate interests that fund so much of politics today.
Alright 44 000 Americans die every year because they don't have health insurance. Okay... so providing insurance coverage to millions of people... which will cost a couple of billion dollars should be the most efficient way to spend the money... When we could do so much more with that billions of dollars literally.
@plzhealme In fact, reforming health care is a long term money saver. We currently spend far more per person than any other country on "health care" and get second rate results. I put "health care" in quotes because a very large fraction of what we call "health care spending" is not actually going to health care. Something like 25% is taken off the top by the insurance companies. A chunk goes to paying staff to fill out lots of forms. These things don't improve health at all.
@LibPornQuig "She's a witch. Burn her! How do you know she is a witch?" The arguments about Grayson's views often remind me of that scene from Monty Python.
wake up dead!!! he s talking to you listener!!!! OMG! same motherf about MONEY what about this way: youtube.com/watch?v=Y14CHYN-9yk youtube.com/watch?v=l7zBYIsU6xo
The reason this guy got any ratings is because of all the baffoons that listen to this sick crap. This buffoon exemplifies all those who are like him. They may be few, but they are on here to eat this shit up! What a waste! I'll bet his parents are proud.
I wish more Congressmen would stand up and speak to power like Alan does. It makes me proud to hear him throttle the ones who have done the most damage....and to the dumb/blind repugnican'ts who say they will reduce spending...name a single repugnican't who has not spent his way out of office...there are none...not a single one.
Good on you Mr Grayson. Stand up to those government pricks who take and not give. They are happy to take taxes and raise interest rates, but when it comes the average Joe, they don't care. They never cared. Just take the money and run like a criminal
@Nigaromia It isn't just folks in the government that rip people off that Grayson has attacked. Back when he worked as a lawyer he took on whistle blower cases where companies were putting US troops at risk and just flat ripping off the tax payers. These were people trying to bring to light outright fraud but getting no help from the government on the cases.
Revenue - Expenses = Profit; Profit is incentive; Hard to compare America to other countries because other countries aren't the top medical research country in the world. The negative aspects of imposing a universal healthcare system on our current healthcare system are devastating. America leads we don't follow. Why should we give up on our system for a system other countries can barely keep running? When there's no profit to be had who will fund medical research?
@KurohigeStudios The comparison is done on cost & results. The health care in the US costs way more than other countries and doesn't get as good of results. Niether Canada not France have socialized health care. Both have gone with a model where the providers are still private. The system in England is the NHS. It is the one truly socialized system in this discussion. I have not been arguing that any of these are perfect only better than what we have now. To lead we must get in front.
@KurohigeStudios I call longer life with less suffering and fewer people denied care "better results". I don't consider more profit from the health care industry "better results" because although profit is the motive it ultimately is not the reason for having a healthcare system.
@knowledgemonger Pretty much everywhere a form of social healthcare is in place the common cons are running at a loss, price controls, less doctors, less new drugs, rationing, long lines, and bankruptcy. If European countries are turning towards private sectors to help settle this debt, why would you think it would be a good idea for us to start doing something similar? Why would it be better for us to start doing Medicaid on a broad scale?
@KurohigeStudios We have rationing now. If your insurance company says "no" you don't get it. The US spends far more per person that Canada or Europe. They may not have the perfect system but it is better than ours. They spend less and get better results. We spend more and get worse results. They are still working on improving their system. We are so far behind that if we just copied them we would be better off. It isn't perfect only better.
@knowledgemonger You think copying them would solve our problems? That's just ridiculous. There are factors in the United States that Canada does not have to deal with, which basically prevent us from being able to run socialized healthcare. Besides, we make more medical advancements with our profit motivated healthcare that in the big picture makes the world a better place. There are lots of Economical repercussions that idealists like to ignore for the sake of not looking like bad guys.
@KurohigeStudios I think that to copy them would make matters better. They would not be perfect merely better. We could do better but the current unwillingness to look at changes in the system means that we are stuck with a system that is costing us far more and simply not delivering the goods. If you look at where the basic research on medical matters, none of it is done by the insurance companies. It is universities that are the location of that.
@knowledgemonger Again economics, all parts of the wheel work together and what happens to one effects the other. It's not that we're unwilling to look at changes. The Democrats feel they can just throw money at the issue and become more socialist to fix the problem. The Republicans see that we need to fix other things before health care, sad but true. We're fighting for the same thing, the Republicans just actually know how to achieve it without creating more problems.
@KurohigeStudios Go take a look at the amount of debt run up vs the party that held the presidency. The only time that republicans appear to care about the deficit, is when they aren't the ones doing the spending. It was their economic theories that ran the economy into the ditch. Medicare part D was done by republicans. It is a time bomb that will explode on later generations. They did not allow the government to negotiate the prices of drugs. The republicans are worse.
@knowledgemonger You mean how Obama has already run up more debt than Bush did in eight years? Since its creation our government has run deficits in all but eight years. Debt is a necessary party of Capitalism, but the point is to keep it at manageable levels. Not to increase it to unmanageable levels during a recession with no plans to lower the deficit to manageable levels in the next 10 years. The long term economic effects of a president are always controversial.
@KurohigeStudios Take a look at Carter, Reagan, Bush-1, Clinton, and Bush-2 and you will see the pattern. You can't blame Obama for 700 Billion of the debt that appeared in 2009 because it was already in the pipe line bay that point. This sudden burst of deficit was needed to prevent another great depression. When the economy recovers, you can expect to see the deficit decrease again. I am assuming that Democrats remain in charge at that point. If not spending will increase further.
@knowledgemonger Wait wait, you're assuming Democrats will still be in charge and if not spending will increase further? Democrats are the ones increasing spending, Republicans want to cut spending and find a way to increase revenues to dig us out of this hole. And you know what they say about assuming. Check the polls, the way things are going Republicans might take control in November and that could easily pave the way for a Republican presidency in 2012.
@KurohigeStudios Debt is not the issue.corruption is.corruption is in all aspects of life.It happens in govt. (look at Cheney/Haliburton).It happens in industry.(left unregulated-how do you think this economy/country got into this mess). It happens in every day life, people cheat they're own fellow americans for a bigger piece of the pie.Voting Republicans into office will not solve some of the real problems in the United States. Stop corruption. Remember campaign finance reform, i do.
@sebsmith2002 Sanctity of marriage and waging endless wars was the solution of the Republican Party. I don't Republican or Democrats in the pocket of special interest groups, have any plan other than maintaining the status quo for america
@sebsmith2002 If you're going to point out the corruption aspect then it's good to point out there is corruption on both sides of the aisle. Corruption has to do with greed and besides changing the rules to prevent greedy people from taking advantage of the system there is no way to cure human greed or decide one party is less corrupt.
@KurohigeStudios Yes, we can decide which party is more corrupt than the other. The republicans are the more corrupt. The democrats may be bad but when it comes to outright corruption the republicans have a lock on that. Troops died because showers didn't get wired up correctly but because is was Cheney's good buddies who did it, nothing was done. The contract was still paid in full, even for the defective work and spoiled food.
@sebsmith2002 It isn't just corruption. Hiring the incompetent is also at work. Consider the cases of Monica Goodling adn "good job browny". Republicans say "government can't do anything right". To which I reply not when you purposely hire the incompetent to make sure they can't, that is for sure.
@KurohigeStudios No, as I pointed out, the only time republicans ever place a priority on cutting spending is when they are out of power. Every single time they have been in power they have spent like a bunch of drunken sailors. Go take a look at the debt since Jimmy Carter vs who was president at the time. Look at the speeches that gave about deficits not mattering when they were the ones spending. They are the ones who run up debt.
@TAMPADOC64 Again you attempt to win the argument by pointing out imperfect operation of their system. It simply won't work because the question is not whether or not their system is perfect or free. The simple fact is that it is better and lower cost. At least I got you to admit that insurance companies do take some off the top even if you claim it is only 18%. This is progress. Now lets see if we can teach you what the word "better" and the term "cost less" mean.
@knowledgemonger Again you make the most stupid arguement. You keep claiming that their system is better than ours in the face of all the evidence. Brits preffer private health care to NHS, Brits FLY here for surgery (as do people all over the world) Same with Canadians. Brits die every day because the NHS says "you cost too much to keep alive" yet you think it's better. You must be stupid or a liar.
@TAMPADOC64 That you constantly keep coming back to the same stupid argument means that I have found the limits of your knowledge on teh subject. You simply aren't willing to compare the actual costs and the actual results statistics. The US system looks very bad when you do so. Americans dies all the time because their insurance companies say "NO". We have the "death panels" you seem so worried about.
@knowledgemonger , I'm the only one that has offered evidence. You have constantly repeated the same worn out crap and have offered nothing to support you lies. The only stats that look bad are the ones made up by the liars pushing this Socialism. Everyone in the world wants to use our medical system, yet you and your Marxist gods want us to embracew what they reject. How moronic is that? You tell that mom holding her dying baby how good their system is when in our system it would have lived.
@TAMPADOC64 The real statistics show the real facts. You just can't stand the idea that the systems in other countries cost less and get better results. You have started resorting to outright lies in an attempt to prove your case. What a sorry state you are in, defending the insurance companies who really don't care about you. This is not defending democracy or the American way this is defending corporations which are not democratic and multinational. Sadly they have your fooled.
@darthvader59 I know why you don't, because you're a little British coward. I forget because most of my Brit friends are smart an gutsy, that some of them are not. I would think that you would admit that those stories I offered are true and ask your American counterpart to prove me wrong. Of course he can't, nor can you.
@TAMPADOC64 I have never argued that the other systems war perfect. The best propaganda uses a few real cases and tries to paint th whole situation with them.
@darthvader59 I have made progress. He at least now admits to 18% of the top by the insurance companies. He has got the right number but at least he now sees that there is a cost to letting them be involved. He hasn't yet looked at the overhead numbers for the NHS, the system in Canada or Medicare in the US, but that may come eventually.
@knowledgemonger What a fool you are! I'm not defending insurance companies! You just don't get it! I'm defending having a choice. Choosing my own doctor, choosing what medicine I want to take, choosing when I want to die. Not have a bunch of bureaucrats in DC make those decissions for me. It's a sorry state when an American chooses socialism over liberty. You are a poor example of an America. You have been taken in by the left and although you deserve that fate, I hope you never expierience it.
@TAMPADOC64 You don't get it. I assume you must be in good health and not really have had to deal with the existing system much if you think that you get a free choice of what doctor you get to see. Your insurance company only has a contract with a limited list of doctors in your area. You only get to choose among these.
When it comes to bureaucrats, the insurance companies can supply a nearly end less number of them.
@knowledgemonger "I assume you must be in good health and not really have had to deal with the existing system much if you think that you get a free choice of what doctor you get to see."
Funny you assumed that. You are about to embark down a road that will make a total ASS of yourself I would suggest you not go there. Everything you stated in this post would play badly on you.
@TAMPADOC64 I have never said that their system was perfect. You are acting like I said that they had zero cost or were perfect. I have never said that. They just *cost* less and get better *results*. These are the facts.
@knowledgemonger I could post some more. What you don't seem to realize is that in Socialized medicine they really do have death panels. It's real, it happens, it's all about what the government can afford. You pay more, but you pay so you can get virtually anything to stay alive. Evan our free healthcare you get virtually anything. Did you read the story about the woman who died because they drugged her on morphine instead of running test? That would NEVER happen here. Quit fooling yourself
@TAMPADOC64 The English NHS is the only socialized medicine being discussed here. The system in Canada and France both are only socialized insurance. The providers are private.
The US has death panels. They are the insurance companies. If your insurance won't pay, you die. It is real. It happens. People die int he US because the insurance company said "no". Others die because they don't have insurance and don't qualify for charity. I have never argued that the others were perfect.
@knowledgemonger Socialized insurance with government control. Again, you keep dodging this, the fastest growing industries in the UK and Canada are PRIVATE health care.
BTW, do you have a clue how our system works, About the only time insurance companies deny something is it's not an approved prctice. They don't dare deny something for fear of being sued! I've asked for this before from someone like you. Provide me an actual case where someone died because they were denied medical treatment.
@TAMPADOC64 I am not dodging the question. It is simply not relevant to the discussion of the health care as it currently is. Their system is not perfect. I have never said it was. It is not free. I have never said it was. I have just pointed out the simple facts that what they have right now is better than what we have right now and that it costs less than what we have. They are free to try to improve their system but it is already better than ours.
@knowledgemonger What you keep doing is lying, there system is horrible! That's why Brits and Canadians would rather pay out of their own pockets for private care than go to a public hospital for free. For some strange reason they are afraid they'll die in a public hospital, maybe that's because they SUCK!
@TAMPADOC64 Now you are repeating the lies you tried to make fly earlier. You must be getting paid by the insurance companies or are very very stupid. Both could be true I guess.
@knowledgemonger You're a liar and a fool. I don't get paid by the insurance industry, I just see that the government wants to replace a system that has yielded the best healthcar in the world with the model that is bankrupt and failing everywhere else and that some people for some reason, beit brainwashed, stupid or just hate Liberty, want to embrace this failing model.
@TAMPADOC64 I have observed an interestng thing with republicans, When they start yelling about gays, they always turn out to be gay. When they yell about wild spending they are busily spending. When they yell about marriage they are messing around on their wives. You suddenly started claiming I was a liar so I thought for a moment to see what lie you had just started to tell and came up with the your made up nonsense about the person from England and the clinic. I guess that is the lie.
@knowledgemonger You're pathetic! Unlike you I have no reason to lie. I've laid out many links to proof of what I have said, you have offered none. I didn't have to make up my friend from Ramsbottom, he's quite real, feeling much better (bronchial infection) thanks to the clinic. You on the other hand keep repeating the same lies with no proof at all. Show me the proof or admit your lies! For not showing the proof is proof enough of you integrity.
@TAMPADOC64 You have given all the evidence of having a reason to lie. Your ego just won't let you admit that you are wrong. You can't even admit it to yourself. You finally admitted an incorrect amount of 18% off the top for the insurance companies. Your pride just won't let you see that the other countries get better results for less money.
@knowledgemonger You can't even get that right. You said Insurance companies take 25% right off the top. I said they only take 3% right off the top. You than came back with the statement about operating cost. I agreed that operating cost is 18%. That's not the same as taking off the top which refers to profit. So do us both a favor, don't lie about that. You still have offered no proof that other countries get better results. the only proof of anything thus far was from me.
@TAMPADOC64 You claimed that they only took 3% off the top. This is wrong. You now admit that they take at least 18% off the top. The "off the top" refers to health care money. All the money that they consume is not available for health care. You are now attempting to redefine the terms of the debate once you know of your error.
@knowledgemonger You're a moron. I just explained this. When you said they take 25% off the top, which implies taking off profit. I said quite accurately that the Profit was 3%. Than you said the operating cost is 25% than I said (again quite accurately) it's 18%. Your terminology is inaccurate. Don't blame me for your inability to properly express yourself.
@TAMPADOC64 You ar trying to redefine terms. I said they take 25% "off the top" in reference to health care money. You came back trying to make that only the 3% profit. The entire money they take off the top from the health care dollar goes to nothing useful. It is clever trick by you to try to change the terms of debate, but I am not going to let you away with it. What I said was completely clear.
So Grayson got caught trying to con people and waste their vote since he's going to lose the next election. And none of you will comment about him being a scum bucket? How nice.
@TAMPADOC64 So you accuse others of groundless name calling and then engage in the exact practice you said others do. I have noticed this about republicans in general. If you want to know what crime they are committing, you just have to look at what they accuse others of.
@knowledgemonger It's hardly groundless, he is directly related to the creation of a fake TEA Party in Florida, with nobody candidates in an attempt to deceive people and divert votes. It's a real low life move but nothing that surprises me from the likes of Grayson. You should look it up before you keep protecting him, that is unless you like protecting slime.
@TAMPADOC64 Dick Armey's "Freedom Works" is almost 100% responsible for the creation of the "Tea Party". It is a fake grass roots organization that has suckered a lot of people. Fox news and some lobbyists made one so why not anybody else? There is no moral outrage in this. It just is a demonstration of how uninformed the voters are.
@knowledgemonger Are you attempting to make yourself look stupid? You doing a wonderful job. Rick Santelli on CNBC was the one who started the TEA Party. While on a rant on MSNBC he suggested that people that are sick of tax and spend send a TEA bag to Washington. Hundreds of thousands did. Then many other joined them. Dick Armey founded Freedom Works, They may have joined the TEA Party, but they sure didn't start it. Creating a fake party to drw votes is dishonest. Honest people know that.
@tampafoc u're either stupid or moron or maybe both u sound like any other republican obama hating rich fuck. " I work with people and they tell me...." fuck u and fuck those people cause they don't know they just tell u the stories and probably get their comparisons by stories told by u, but don't forget u're inconsiderate slimy greedy moron who tells about our wonderfully awesome us medical system just as I u' re defending it here now. @stasevich You funny! You make no sense at all, and like most leftist, Marxist losers you resort to name calling and vulgarity when you have no facts. I happen to have a Green Card holding British citizen in the office next to me that I read your comments to. He describe you as a bloody rhett bag, yank red neck. I think he's right. If you hate our medical system go have surgery in Cuba, I hear some nurses still wear flip-flops in surgery there.
Grayson caught acting like crooked scumbag. Alan "Democrats want you to die slowly and in pain" Grayson has been caught backing a voter con job where a fake Tea Party was created to con voters to waste their votes. Knowing that his vile lies have destroyed his and other Democrats that have voted for the government takeover of the medical industry, this attempt to lure votes astray was the last act of a desperate and despicable con man. I hope he is more successful in his next job, unemployment!
@TAMPADOC64 You are the one supporting those who are in favor of people dieing. The system we have now costs more and causes deaths. These are these are the

Who cares if uninsured Americans are dying? It's just natural selection at work.
XcoldshadowX 11 months ago
@XcoldshadowX I care because of two reasons both of them selfish. There is a third reason that some feel is important but I don't think it need apply here because it is cheaper to pay people to collect the dead bodies and burn them than to bother with any sort of health care. Since we have a high unemployment rate, obviously we don't need the extra workers. There are lots of people in China etc that can make the things we want even if we run completely out of americans.

Immediately I lose all respect for the credibility of anyone who compares a democratically elected US politician to Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, Mussolini, Tojo, etc. It's astounding how historically retarded so many Americans are about stuff that was going on just twenty or thirty years ago, when the Soviet Union was around.
ebonics4everyone 1 year ago
@ebonics4everyone - If the shoe fits...Just so you know, it's not Hitler' Final Solution that draws the comparisons, but his style of governing. The left has a lot of fascism in their actions. Don't forget that "Nazi" comes from National SOCIALIST. BTW, every position in government that Hitler assumed, he did so legally.
UGalum 1 year ago
@ebonics4everyone - Typos, typos...sorry about the mistakes...
UGalum 1 year ago
@UGalum yes Hitler was elected legally, with the help of big business.
Zajuts149 1 year ago
@Zajuts149 - And you think Obama got elected how?...
UGalum 1 year ago
@UGalum I'm pretty sure every American politician gets elected that way.
bobojoe1 1 year ago
@bobojoe1 - I'm sure every politician EVERYWHERE there are, or were, free elections has done it the same way. My point was that Hitler was elected and/or assumed his positions in Germany legally. He didn't steal any elections or assume power through a military coup or anything. We have to be alert or the same thing can happen here.
UGalum 1 year ago
@UGalum A more expanded quote of his is "We are going to send more college graduates to teach and mentor our young. We will call on Americans to join an energy corp to conduct renewable energy and environmental clean up projects in their neighborhoods all across the country. We will enlist our veterans to to find jobs and support for other vets and be there for our military families.
bobojoe1 1 year ago
@UGalum Hitler took away freedoms and had the SS paroling the streets to quell any opposition. The Nazis were not socialist, even if it was in their name. No common ownership of land = no socialism. They were closer to a fascist government, but not quite.
bobojoe1 1 year ago
@bobojoe1 - Obama is taking away OUR freedoms, and he suggested a "civilian defense force" (which is unconstitutional, BTW). Don't tell me that forcing the purchase of a commodity doesn't infringe on my freedoms, in this case my freedom to decide what I wish to own. I wasn't discussing socialism in theory, but in practice. State ownership is state ownership, no matter what name you attach to it. And Socialism in practice is not one jot different than Fascism. Both nationalize industry.
UGalum 1 year ago
@UGalum About the "civilian national security force", you were mislead by a sound bit. Search "A Call To Service steviey99" and it is the only video to come up. Wait until the end and you will see he was talking about doubling the Peace Corp and expanding AmeriCorp. He was using a metaphor for saying that the American people helping the community is our second national security force
bobojoe1 1 year ago
@bobojoe1 - On July 2, 2008, in Colorado Springs ,CO Obama said the following in a speech: "We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded." There is nothing to infer from those words. He was NOT referring to Peace Corp or Americorp expansion..

Those in Massachusetts may appreciate what he did as their representative, but the rest of America was not served so well by him. Dead or alive, he simply doesn't deserve respect.
UGalum 1 year ago
@UGalum He isn't saying we need a national militia. He was saying we need to come together to secure our nation by helping our neighborhoods, mentoring our young, and helping our vets. But doing this, we will secure the nation. If you watch the 3 minutes preceding the quote you said, you will see that's what he was saying. Don't take it from me, search "A Call To Service steviey99" (no quotes in the search).

We did the historical thing and voted Obama and then dozed off
ebonics4everyone 1 year ago
@ebonics4everyone
Only intellectuals are liberals, right? That line of thinking is why we just kicked your party's ass in the mideterm elections.
Enjoy your one term president.
HokiesAndDawgs 1 year ago
@HokiesAndDawgs Do you know who else lost the majority during the midterm elections? Reagan and Clinton. I recall those both being two term presidents. If their asses were kicked then why do they still have the senate? Why is harry reid still is office? The Republican wave was just a ripple. The tea party movement is weak.
bobojoe1 1 year ago
@bobojoe1 - Uh, you're semi-incorrect, and a little confused, about Reagan and mid-terms. He NEVER had a majority to lose in the House, and the Senate changed hands in his SECOND term, thus having no effect on his chances for re-election.
Harry Reid only had to win Nevada, which has less than a million voters. The elections are widely seen by both sides as a rejection of Obama's policies. Dems ran AWAY from him and still lost. You can comfort yourself however you'd like, though.
UGalum 1 year ago
@UGalum Well if he lost the house, doesn't that show that the country was unsatisfied with the Republicans?
bobojoe1 1 year ago
@bobojoe1 - Not quite. George Bush was elected in the next presidential election 2 years later. And Reagan never had a majority in the House to lose. He had a slim majority that was lost in the Senate, but as I said, he was already into his second term. The point that was being contended was that losing mid-term elections doesn't necessarily doom a president to one term. While I agree, those conditions weren't applicable to Reagan.
UGalum 1 year ago
@UGalum We are going to grow our foreign service, open consulates that have been shuttered, and double the size of the peace corp by 2011 to renew our diplomacy. We cannot continue to rely on only our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we've set, we need a civilian security force that is just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded"
bobojoe1 1 year ago
@bobojoe1 - He's talking about two distinctly different things. Yes, he wants to expand the Peace Corps, but he also fully intends on developing a civilian defense force. The words in Obama's speech are unequivocal - and Charles Rangel just introduced the legislation in the House. It calls for a uniformed civilian defense. As I said before, that is explicitly unconstitutional. The legislation won't go anywhere, but it's indicative of just how far this administration will push.
UGalum 1 year ago
@UGalum That's like saying I support mass genocide of pigs if I say "This bacon is good, I glad we killed that pig". Context matters; You don't talk about one thing for 2:50 and make start and finish an entirely new idea with the last 10 seconds. Just looking at the last 10 seconds takes it out of its context..
If this bill is real, tell me the HR number and I'll check it out.
bobojoe1 1 year ago
@bobojoe1 - I don't follow your logic, but whatever. I listened to the same video. I heard very distinct, separate ideas that were part of one larger theme. The bill is HR 5741 - the Universal National Services Act. It provides for a national defense force of, for lack of a better word, "voluntary" conscripts...to be made available when the president deems an emergency or in a state of war. It does not specify what emergencies would be included, nor how the state of war would be declared.
UGalum 1 year ago
@UGalum Lets let govetrack dot us provide the context here "For context, Congressman Rangel has introduced this bill many times in the past. Each time, it has received very little support, and Rangel knows it has no chance of being passed." This isn't Obama's idea and has been introduced by Rangel in the past.. I can't find an Obama endorsement anywhere on the web. And you are wrong, the law makes service compulsory.
bobojoe1 1 year ago
@bobojoe1 - This is NOT the same bill that Rangel introduces every 3 or so years. Those sought purely to reinstate the draft. This bill, without the draft, is claimed by Rangel himself to have administration support. He also claims that the bill was re-worked with administration assistance. Is he lying? Possibly, but the fact remains that the bill has been amended substantially this time around.
I got the conscription part right, but the voluntary part was mistaken. I stand corrected.
UGalum 1 year ago
@UGalum Okay, I guess we have to agree to disagree. I hope we can at least say that we understand each other better now and see that the other isn't an idiot or irrational.
bobojoe1 1 year ago
@bobojoe1 - it definitely beats the alternative. At heart, I don't trust politicians of any stripe, or the establishment. Our immigration problem has been willfully ignored by the GOP AND Democrats, and PC attitudes prevented us from being more active in policing Islamic terrorists under both parties, too. Nidal Hasan was being promoted the entire time that Bush was in office, plus a few years of the Clinton administration. Clinton failed to take bin Laden out a few times because of it, too.

funkyflights 1 year ago
@funkyflights Many people don't seem to understand that "regulation" is just the making of rules for the game. Without regulation, there really is no such thing as a market. You need contract law and courts and rules that prevent abuses to have a market that works. "Deregulation" took the rules away and we ended up with a mess. This is not a surprise.
knowledgemonger 1 year ago
@TheXerxes004 I suggest you go back and look at the dates. The US economy was growing nicely from late 1933 to about 1937. This was before the war in Europe. In 1937 and 1938 there was a bit of a pull back when Roosevelt suddenly tried to move to a balanced budget and the war in Europe was in fact starting. This myth about WW-2 fixing the great depression is just that, a myth, but many seem to believe it even though the fact can be easily found that show it is false.

Alright 44 000 Americans die every year because they don't have health insurance. Okay... so providing insurance coverage to millions of people... which will cost a couple of billion dollars should be the most efficient way to spend the money... When we could do so much more with that billions of dollars literally.
plzhealme 1 year ago
@plzhealme In fact, reforming health care is a long term money saver. We currently spend far more per person than any other country on "health care" and get second rate results. I put "health care" in quotes because a very large fraction of what we call "health care spending" is not actually going to health care. Something like 25% is taken off the top by the insurance companies. A chunk goes to paying staff to fill out lots of forms. These things don't improve health at all.

Good on you Mr Grayson. Stand up to those government pricks who take and not give. They are happy to take taxes and raise interest rates, but when it comes the average Joe, they don't care. They never cared. Just take the money and run like a criminal
Nigaromia 1 year ago 21

KurohigeStudios 1 year ago
@KurohigeStudios The comparison is done on cost & results. The health care in the US costs way more than other countries and doesn't get as good of results. Niether Canada not France have socialized health care. Both have gone with a model where the providers are still private. The system in England is the NHS. It is the one truly socialized system in this discussion. I have not been arguing that any of these are perfect only better than what we have now. To lead we must get in front.
knowledgemonger 1 year ago
@knowledgemonger That just depends on your interpretation of the data and what qualifies as "good results"
KurohigeStudios 1 year ago
@KurohigeStudios I call longer life with less suffering and fewer people denied care "better results". I don't consider more profit from the health care industry "better results" because although profit is the motive it ultimately is not the reason for having a healthcare system.
knowledgemonger 1 year ago
@knowledgemonger Pretty much everywhere a form of social healthcare is in place the common cons are running at a loss, price controls, less doctors, less new drugs, rationing, long lines, and bankruptcy. If European countries are turning towards private sectors to help settle this debt, why would you think it would be a good idea for us to start doing something similar? Why would it be better for us to start doing Medicaid on a broad scale?
KurohigeStudios 1 year ago
@KurohigeStudios We have rationing now. If your insurance company says "no" you don't get it. The US spends far more per person that Canada or Europe. They may not have the perfect system but it is better than ours. They spend less and get better results. We spend more and get worse results. They are still working on improving their system. We are so far behind that if we just copied them we would be better off. It isn't perfect only better.
knowledgemonger 1 year ago
@knowledgemonger You think copying them would solve our problems? That's just ridiculous. There are factors in the United States that Canada does not have to deal with, which basically prevent us from being able to run socialized healthcare. Besides, we make more medical advancements with our profit motivated healthcare that in the big picture makes the world a better place. There are lots of Economical repercussions that idealists like to ignore for the sake of not looking like bad guys.
KurohigeStudios 1 year ago
@KurohigeStudios I think that to copy them would make matters better. They would not be perfect merely better. We could do better but the current unwillingness to look at changes in the system means that we are stuck with a system that is costing us far more and simply not delivering the goods. If you look at where the basic research on medical matters, none of it is done by the insurance companies. It is universities that are the location of that.
knowledgemonger 1 year ago
@knowledgemonger Again economics, all parts of the wheel work together and what happens to one effects the other. It's not that we're unwilling to look at changes. The Democrats feel they can just throw money at the issue and become more socialist to fix the problem. The Republicans see that we need to fix other things before health care, sad but true. We're fighting for the same thing, the Republicans just actually know how to achieve it without creating more problems.
KurohigeStudios 1 year ago
@KurohigeStudios Go take a look at the amount of debt run up vs the party that held the presidency. The only time that republicans appear to care about the deficit, is when they aren't the ones doing the spending. It was their economic theories that ran the economy into the ditch. Medicare part D was done by republicans. It is a time bomb that will explode on later generations. They did not allow the government to negotiate the prices of drugs. The republicans are worse.
knowledgemonger 1 year ago
@knowledgemonger You mean how Obama has already run up more debt than Bush did in eight years? Since its creation our government has run deficits in all but eight years. Debt is a necessary party of Capitalism, but the point is to keep it at manageable levels. Not to increase it to unmanageable levels during a recession with no plans to lower the deficit to manageable levels in the next 10 years. The long term economic effects of a president are always controversial.
KurohigeStudios 1 year ago
@KurohigeStudios Take a look at Carter, Reagan, Bush-1, Clinton, and Bush-2 and you will see the pattern. You can't blame Obama for 700 Billion of the debt that appeared in 2009 because it was already in the pipe line bay that point. This sudden burst of deficit was needed to prevent another great depression. When the economy recovers, you can expect to see the deficit decrease again. I am assuming that Democrats remain in charge at that point. If not spending will increase further.
knowledgemonger 1 year ago
@knowledgemonger Wait wait, you're assuming Democrats will still be in charge and if not spending will increase further? Democrats are the ones increasing spending, Republicans want to cut spending and find a way to increase revenues to dig us out of this hole. And you know what they say about assuming. Check the polls, the way things are going Republicans might take control in November and that could easily pave the way for a Republican presidency in 2012.
KurohigeStudios 1 year ago
@KurohigeStudios Debt is not the issue.corruption is.corruption is in all aspects of life.It happens in govt. (look at Cheney/Haliburton).It happens in industry.(left unregulated-how do you think this economy/country got into this mess). It happens in every day life, people cheat they're own fellow americans for a bigger piece of the pie.Voting Republicans into office will not solve some of the real problems in the United States. Stop corruption. Remember campaign finance reform, i do.
sebsmith2002 1 year ago
@sebsmith2002 Sanctity of marriage and waging endless wars was the solution of the Republican Party. I don't Republican or Democrats in the pocket of special interest groups, have any plan other than maintaining the status quo for america
sebsmith2002 1 year ago
@sebsmith2002 If you're going to point out the corruption aspect then it's good to point out there is corruption on both sides of the aisle. Corruption has to do with greed and besides changing the rules to prevent greedy people from taking advantage of the system there is no way to cure human greed or decide one party is less corrupt.
KurohigeStudios 1 year ago
@KurohigeStudios Yes, we can decide which party is more corrupt than the other. The republicans are the more corrupt. The democrats may be bad but when it comes to outright corruption the republicans have a lock on that. Troops died because showers didn't get wired up correctly but because is was Cheney's good buddies who did it, nothing was done. The contract was still paid in full, even for the defective work and spoiled food.
knowledgemonger 1 year ago
@sebsmith2002 It isn't just corruption. Hiring the incompetent is also at work. Consider the cases of Monica Goodling adn "good job browny". Republicans say "government can't do anything right". To which I reply not when you purposely hire the incompetent to make sure they can't, that is for sure.
knowledgemonger 1 year ago
@KurohigeStudios No, as I pointed out, the only time republicans ever place a priority on cutting spending is when they are out of power. Every single time they have been in power they have spent like a bunch of drunken sailors. Go take a look at the debt since Jimmy Carter vs who was president at the time. Look at the speeches that gave about deficits not mattering when they were the ones spending. They are the ones who run up debt.

TAMPADOC64 1 year ago
@TAMPADOC64 Again you attempt to win the argument by pointing out imperfect operation of their system. It simply won't work because the question is not whether or not their system is perfect or free. The simple fact is that it is better and lower cost. At least I got you to admit that insurance companies do take some off the top even if you claim it is only 18%. This is progress. Now lets see if we can teach you what the word "better" and the term "cost less" mean.
knowledgemonger 1 year ago
@knowledgemonger Again you make the most stupid arguement. You keep claiming that their system is better than ours in the face of all the evidence. Brits preffer private health care to NHS, Brits FLY here for surgery (as do people all over the world) Same with Canadians. Brits die every day because the NHS says "you cost too much to keep alive" yet you think it's better. You must be stupid or a liar.
TAMPADOC64 1 year ago
@TAMPADOC64 That you constantly keep coming back to the same stupid argument means that I have found the limits of your knowledge on teh subject. You simply aren't willing to compare the actual costs and the actual results statistics. The US system looks very bad when you do so. Americans dies all the time because their insurance companies say "NO". We have the "death panels" you seem so worried about.
knowledgemonger 1 year ago
@knowledgemonger , I'm the only one that has offered evidence. You have constantly repeated the same worn out crap and have offered nothing to support you lies. The only stats that look bad are the ones made up by the liars pushing this Socialism. Everyone in the world wants to use our medical system, yet you and your Marxist gods want us to embracew what they reject. How moronic is that? You tell that mom holding her dying baby how good their system is when in our system it would have lived.
TAMPADOC64 1 year ago

TAMPADOC64 1 year ago
@TAMPADOC64 I have never argued that the other systems war perfect. The best propaganda uses a few real cases and tries to paint th whole situation with them.
knowledgemonger 1 year ago
@knowledgemonger And you can offer nothing to defend your position. Why is that?
TAMPADOC64 1 year ago
@darthvader59 I have made progress. He at least now admits to 18% of the top by the insurance companies. He has got the right number but at least he now sees that there is a cost to letting them be involved. He hasn't yet looked at the overhead numbers for the NHS, the system in Canada or Medicare in the US, but that may come eventually.
knowledgemonger 1 year ago
@knowledgemonger What a fool you are! I'm not defending insurance companies! You just don't get it! I'm defending having a choice. Choosing my own doctor, choosing what medicine I want to take, choosing when I want to die. Not have a bunch of bureaucrats in DC make those decissions for me. It's a sorry state when an American chooses socialism over liberty. You are a poor example of an America. You have been taken in by the left and although you deserve that fate, I hope you never expierience it.
TAMPADOC64 1 year ago
@TAMPADOC64 You don't get it. I assume you must be in good health and not really have had to deal with the existing system much if you think that you get a free choice of what doctor you get to see. Your insurance company only has a contract with a limited list of doctors in your area. You only get to choose among these.
When it comes to bureaucrats, the insurance companies can supply a nearly end less number of them.

TAMPADOC64 1 year ago
@TAMPADOC64 I have never said that their system was perfect. You are acting like I said that they had zero cost or were perfect. I have never said that. They just *cost* less and get better *results*. These are the facts.
knowledgemonger 1 year ago
@knowledgemonger I could post some more. What you don't seem to realize is that in Socialized medicine they really do have death panels. It's real, it happens, it's all about what the government can afford. You pay more, but you pay so you can get virtually anything to stay alive. Evan our free healthcare you get virtually anything. Did you read the story about the woman who died because they drugged her on morphine instead of running test? That would NEVER happen here. Quit fooling yourself
TAMPADOC64 1 year ago
@TAMPADOC64 The English NHS is the only socialized medicine being discussed here. The system in Canada and France both are only socialized insurance. The providers are private.
The US has death panels. They are the insurance companies. If your insurance won't pay, you die. It is real. It happens. People die int he US because the insurance company said "no". Others die because they don't have insurance and don't qualify for charity. I have never argued that the others were perfect.
knowledgemonger 1 year ago
@knowledgemonger Socialized insurance with government control. Again, you keep dodging this, the fastest growing industries in the UK and Canada are PRIVATE health care.
BTW, do you have a clue how our system works, About the only time insurance companies deny something is it's not an approved prctice. They don't dare deny something for fear of being sued! I've asked for this before from someone like you. Provide me an actual case where someone died because they were denied medical treatment.
TAMPADOC64 1 year ago
@TAMPADOC64 I am not dodging the question. It is simply not relevant to the discussion of the health care as it currently is. Their system is not perfect. I have never said it was. It is not free. I have never said it was. I have just pointed out the simple facts that what they have right now is better than what we have right now and that it costs less than what we have. They are free to try to improve their system but it is already better than ours.
knowledgemonger 1 year ago
@knowledgemonger What you keep doing is lying, there system is horrible! That's why Brits and Canadians would rather pay out of their own pockets for private care than go to a public hospital for free. For some strange reason they are afraid they'll die in a public hospital, maybe that's because they SUCK!
TAMPADOC64 1 year ago
@TAMPADOC64 Now you are repeating the lies you tried to make fly earlier. You must be getting paid by the insurance companies or are very very stupid. Both could be true I guess.
knowledgemonger 1 year ago
@knowledgemonger You're a liar and a fool. I don't get paid by the insurance industry, I just see that the government wants to replace a system that has yielded the best healthcar in the world with the model that is bankrupt and failing everywhere else and that some people for some reason, beit brainwashed, stupid or just hate Liberty, want to embrace this failing model.
TAMPADOC64 1 year ago
@TAMPADOC64 I have observed an interestng thing with republicans, When they start yelling about gays, they always turn out to be gay. When they yell about wild spending they are busily spending. When they yell about marriage they are messing around on their wives. You suddenly started claiming I was a liar so I thought for a moment to see what lie you had just started to tell and came up with the your made up nonsense about the person from England and the clinic. I guess that is the lie.
knowledgemonger 1 year ago
@knowledgemonger You're pathetic! Unlike you I have no reason to lie. I've laid out many links to proof of what I have said, you have offered none. I didn't have to make up my friend from Ramsbottom, he's quite real, feeling much better (bronchial infection) thanks to the clinic. You on the other hand keep repeating the same lies with no proof at all. Show me the proof or admit your lies! For not showing the proof is proof enough of you integrity.
TAMPADOC64 1 year ago
@TAMPADOC64 You have given all the evidence of having a reason to lie. Your ego just won't let you admit that you are wrong. You can't even admit it to yourself. You finally admitted an incorrect amount of 18% off the top for the insurance companies. Your pride just won't let you see that the other countries get better results for less money.
knowledgemonger 1 year ago
@knowledgemonger You can't even get that right. You said Insurance companies take 25% right off the top. I said they only take 3% right off the top. You than came back with the statement about operating cost. I agreed that operating cost is 18%. That's not the same as taking off the top which refers to profit. So do us both a favor, don't lie about that. You still have offered no proof that other countries get better results. the only proof of anything thus far was from me.
TAMPADOC64 1 year ago
@TAMPADOC64 You claimed that they only took 3% off the top. This is wrong. You now admit that they take at least 18% off the top. The "off the top" refers to health care money. All the money that they consume is not available for health care. You are now attempting to redefine the terms of the debate once you know of your error.
knowledgemonger 1 year ago
@knowledgemonger You're a moron. I just explained this. When you said they take 25% off the top, which implies taking off profit. I said quite accurately that the Profit was 3%. Than you said the operating cost is 25% than I said (again quite accurately) it's 18%. Your terminology is inaccurate. Don't blame me for your inability to properly express yourself.
TAMPADOC64 1 year ago
@TAMPADOC64 You ar trying to redefine terms. I said they take 25% "off the top" in reference to health care money. You came back trying to make that only the 3% profit. The entire money they take off the top from the health care dollar goes to nothing useful. It is clever trick by you to try to change the terms of debate, but I am not going to let you away with it. What I said was completely clear.
