FYI, everyone. A piano IS a percussion instrument as well as a string instrument. The string is struck with a mallet attached to the key that YOU press. Corea's a already a percussionist.

I get what you're saying technically, I just don't think the comparison is useful in any way. Being able to play the piano no more helps you play the drums than being able to play guitar or clarinet.
