  • Comment removed

  • She was possessed by the demon, Pazuzu, not the the devil himself.

  • I need to watch this again as it got rated as one of the scariest films of all time. THere's also a lot of theories about bad things happening to th actors in real life and stuff

  • SHUT THE FUCK UP PUNK

  • EXORCIST III is my favorite. I don't care what anyone else thinks. It's MY opinion.

  • @freddy3911 ...no exorcist..1 n two is best...its my opinion..

  • *sigh, this is what happens when I leave the house without my makeup on... :(

  • Exorcist (1) Amazing

Exorcist 2 Never seen it and from the few scenes not appealing, but will eventually watch it

Exorcist 3 Also havent completely watched it, however it is a much better film. I enjoyed the parts that I watched.

  • the girl in exorsist 2 is kind of hot

  • the voice was done by Mercedes McCambridge, and she had to sue to get credit for it

  • LIKE FUCK EXORSIST 2 SUCKS ASS!!!!!!!!!!!

  • NO SHIT DOG!!!!!

  • wtf wear is part 2?

  • So thats the girl on scary maze game

  • I'VE SEEN IT SO MANY TIMES I COULD PLAY ALL THE PARTS...LOL

  • u talk about the story really well

  • re exorcist 3......at 4:49 you see the conclusion of a very long scene in the movie (in the business I believe they call this type of scene where they make you wait for ages to build up tension, then scare the hell out of you a "bus stop" scene (from the movie "cat people" 1942 which had the original bus stop scene)

this scene scared the bejaysus out of me

It is a great movie and very under-rated...the elderly cawling at speed along ceilings rocks

  • No she wasnt posessed by the devil she was posessed by pazuzu a demon

  • 5:42 THE NURSE HAS A BULGE!!! HAHAHAH

  • OH SHIT1!!11!!!!one!1!!! Now wonder I'm so traumatized by the exorcist in the computer pop-outs! This is the picture they get the face from...

  • omg this is crazy

  • xenu saves

  • SICK MUSIC ON BACKGROUND !!!

  • No exorcism film has never come close. Its dated now and not as shocking to todays standards but i dout there will ever be a possession film like it.

  • This movie is based on a true story . It happens in Switzerland in 1960

  • @praetorianus72 that´s not true. it´s based on the stoty of anneliese michels, which died in 1972.

  • @NorskRebel No, the Exorcist is first based on some facts that happened in 1949, in Montrainier, Maryland USA. Then on some facts that happened in Switzerland.

You are confusing with the film The Exorcism of Emily Rose, which is the story of Anneliese Michel

  • were is that what the fuck!? BUM!!! from? i saw it many times, but dont know from which movie

  • Mercedes McCambridge was the lady that did the Demon voice. She did an amazing job, look her up. She talks about how she did the voice. Her name was never shown at the end in the credits until she pointed that out and after they did.

  • imagine, that during the movie there where paramedics outside of the theater to help anyone that might get a seizure or something!

  • that part where she turns her head...if i were the priest i would have gotten up fast, held on to her head, gotten a newspaper and hit her saying "NO, you dont do that!" BAM, BAM, BAM!! just like i do with my cat

  • Anyone notice he uses the same exact phrases as cinemassacre (jamesnintendonerd) at the beginning?

  • I recently went to see this film at a movie theater as a special presentation. Although I have watched it many times I never applied much criticism to it. This time though I tried to seat ( Not literally) next to the Director. OMG! that's it! this movie is not scary just because the special effects but because of the mother's performance. She is the one that projects the terror to the viewer. She is the one that make us feel it's really happening and can happen to you.

  • does he have any idea what he's talking about?

  • this movie has to be seen on the big screen, i was 15 when i first saw it and i shit my pants

  • very good

  • this is the most teriffying movie ever !!!

  • does anybody know that exorcist was based on a true story?

  • not to be mean but ur talking like the fedex man

  • Nice review:) Thanks for posting.

  • true that for 1973 this movie is still 1 of my favourites.

  • Who is this little girl narrating this...she has the voice of a fucking canary..if its a boy..he will never grow testicles...bien sur mon anis.

    wanker punk...

    Gem

  • @repelghosts dude, who cares, he was trying very hard, and the review itself was well done. I hate it when people hate on reviews and lp's because of voice.

  • She doesn't get possessed by the devil himself, she was possessed by Pazuzu an ancient demon. Get your facts right.

  • yeah maybe hes 12 , or FAGGOT

  • @kokomono fuck off and die homophobe

  • Comment removed

  • In 3, the scenes where Brad Dourif just ranted made the movie for me. He was so good.

  • I loved the first one! The Heretic is my faviort idk why but I just Love it! Legion was ok but I think that they got off track focusing on all the police stuff and not what the series is suppose to be about which is Demons. But all in all I Love every exorcist movie!

  • pretty good review... but he was wrong... Mercedes McCambridge did the "evil raspy" VOICE... not Linda Blair- in the first movie I know... not sure about the rest.

  • nice review dude

  • the voice was from mercedes MC cambrige! she smoked cigar after cigar and it was very rough and she forced her self tu vominating mixture of raw eggs and croushed apples... so i red on one CRO. blog

  • muito bizarro!!!

  • dude you stole lines from the AVGN in this almost word for word

  • @shadow6543 how avgn did a 2mim of a review and this is 10mim

  • @shadow6543 guess im not the only one to notice that he totally is stealing some lines and they are the best lines in the entire review lol

  • @shadow6543 Not just that, he stole the footage. You watch the reviews back to back and they use the exact same compilation of clips, edited exactly the same. He just cut the audio from James' version.

  • @VenomShock lol ino, i got that after like the second line

  • 3:50 LOL

  • Regan is possessed by a demon, not the devil.

  • Rosemarys baby sucked, its way overrated.

  • you dumb fuck you cant even speak and you havent even hit puberty yet

  • at 1:44 when he opens the door it looks like freddy krueger is there

  • when is part 2 of the review coming out its been 2 years since you uploaded this vidio

  • This kid sounds like 'sexman'.

  • actually it wasn't her not dubbing, she actually said everything when filming, it was all of the makeup that caused her to not move her mouth as well, look at the scene where she says The sow is mine! (I think) that was good dubbing, to prove my point search: The exorcist with linda blairs voice.

  • exorcist 1 is my favorite movie of all time i quit the series after 2

  • i lol'd when he said "ide get my account baned for the 2ND time"

  • Must you start with the foul language, young man? If I were your mother, I'd wash your mouth out with soap.

  • whens part 2?

  • the voice of demon isnt played by linda blair its played b by mercedes mccambriidge

  • Doesn't anyone wonder why the first 12 minutes of the movie take place in Iraq with a priest?

This movie is making a point about society seeing things in a limited way:

    1) The one-eyed Muslim man who stares at the priest

    2) The "Devil" statue that is a mirror image of the priest standing before it = Man is the Devil, he is seeing himself.

    3) The Iraqi man who says to the priest "Evil against evil"

    4) The "Madonna" medallion that the priest says "It's not from the same period" is also at the end

  • THIS MOVIE IS ABOUT SEXUAL ABUSE, NOT "THE DEVIL".

    1) Burke Dennings, the drunk movie producer family friend is the abuser and gives many hints.

    2) Dennings voice is the same as the "possession" voice (listen to it).

    3) The only two characters who use sexually graphic language are Regan and Mr. Dennings ("fucking cunt")

    4) Dennings says random sexual things: "There seems to be a pubic hair in my gin." and "I've NEVER seen it before in my life."

    5) The hip thrusting, references to "cunt" = abuse

  • 6) The opening archeology "Devil" scene shows the priest as a "mirror" of "The Devil" statue = Man is the Devil in this world, the evil he sees is himself.

    7) The adults all refuse to consider sexual abuse as the cause of Regan's weird behavior (they consider everything else).

    8) The adults see "possession" because they refuse to see the sexual abuse. They blame the victim in a way.

    9) The "possession" goes away when the priest finally abandons his bullshit Catholic faith

    10) The one eyed man

  • @JesusManson323 9) No, the possession goes away when Karras sacrifices himself to force the demon into himself, then takes his own life to drive the demon out. This is a validation of his Catholic faith, not a rejection of it.

  • @JesusManson323 Your'e seing things in the movie that just are not there. The movie is about demonic possession based on a book about demonic possession. It doen't matter what the viewer belives in. I have never heard of a sexual abuse case where the victim can turn their head around or levitate off a bed. The scene where she talks in Burk's voice(you know what she did your'e cunting daughter) the demon was admitting to killing him to horrify regan's mother.

  • @MrGhod I'm not talking about the book. This is a cinematic interpretation. When Burk says "There seems to be a pubic hair in my drink...never seen her before in my life", is he possessed, too?

You're missing the point. This is a movie interpretation, not the book. I know you want to believe in Santa Claus, too, but sometimes the magic is really human projection. Sorry I took this "supernatural magic" away from you. But the clues are all over the movie.

  • @JesusManson323 The "demon possession" is what adults like you want to see. Emphasis on the term WANT. Maybe the term "crave" is more appropriate.

  • @JesusManson323 Your'e the one who seems to crave the sexual abuse angle. That in itself is scary. Regan when possessed also speaks in the voice of Father Karras' dead mother. Did she also sexual abuse her? When she spoke in Burke's voice she turned her head facing backwards. That is exactly the way he died. The demon is making a mockery of his death(that the demon caused). You can't take the supernatural out of a movie that is about it. PS good debate.

  • @MrGhod There are too many sexual references: 1) the pubic hair comment by Burk, 2) the "get your goddam hands out of my cunt" comment by the girl, 3) the crucifix being used sexually by the "possessed" girl saying "Let Jesus fuck you!", 4) voice of Burk screaming "You bitch!" as the mom & priest run upstairs, 5) the "bird beak" on the vagina of the defaced Virgin Mary statue.

But it's the first 10 mins that is The Message: the one-eyed Iraqi man staring straight at the priest. Limited vision.

  • @JesusManson323 The "you bitch" part was not the voice of Burke in that scene. William Blatty stated in an intervew about the crucifix masterbation scene that he reached a point where he had to make something so shocking as to make Regans mother who dosen't have faith seek an exorsist. There are many sexual aspects in the movie/book that are degrading and vulgar to show how evil this demon is. About Burke's pubic hair comment he was drunk and seeking attention he also said the butler was a natzi

  • @JesusManson323 I understand that but The author of the book worked with the director in adapting it to film. Do I have to belive in Darth Vader to watch Star Wars? Can only books be based on the supernatural and not movies? Have you ever seen the dvd and watched the extras or listened to the commentary? Just because a character sais something vulgar in a film does that make him a pedophile? Why do I want to believe in Santa Clause?

  • @JesusManson323 1) Director, not producer, and no, Dennings does not give "hints" that he abused Regan. There is nothing about this in the novel. 2) No, the voice of the demon is Mercedes McCambridge, while Dennings was played by Jack McGowran. 3) Incorrect, Chris uses foul language on the phone with the operator and also with Karras. She's even more graphic in the novel. 4) Yes, he does, which gives us reason to doubt that Regan's possession is real, which is the plot of the movie. 5) No.

  • @Vortigern99 Ok, I can see you want soooo badly to believe in goblins, demons, possessions. You go right ahead and cling to your superstitions. The rest of us Adults will discuss "movie subtexts" and other big words that you find offensive because they do not fit into your Junior High vocabulary.

  • @JesusManson323 I note you didn't address any of my points, only offered insult and derision -- the refuge of the uninspired. I don't "believe" in goblins, demons, gods, etc., and I don't understand why you think I do, except that you're clearly prone to drawing false conclusions from little or no evidence. Movie subtext is an engaging area of study, but none of the "subtext" you imagine is in the novel, subtextually or literally, nor is it in the movie, nor was it Blatty's intent. In short: NO.

  • Do the second video now!: )

  • Linda Blair did not do the voice of the devil. They had another actress by the name of Mercedes McCambridge doing it. Mercedes was in the movie Giant (1956) with Elizabeth Taylor, Rock Hudson and James Dean.

  • i dont really like the Exorcist seris i like more of the halloween seris

  • @bugsquish71

No it was Pazuzu. Yes he says "there is only one demon" and he also says it was "the noonday devil", but devil can refer to any demon and I'm pretty sure noonday has a definition. It doesn't mean THE Devil.

  • ur review is good

  • My dad sed a guy died from a heart attack in the theater when he went to see it

  • lol "the devil HIMself"

  • Exorcist 1 Scary as hell. Exorcist 2 was Godawefull. Exorcist 3 loved it. Never saw the others.

  • very insightful ,thoughtful review. I, though would give #2 MAYBE 1/5. It would make a fair TV movie, but not a worthy successor to the original. With the 1st, it works with your belief system.

  • thats so creepY!

  • what thats for music?

  • band again lolz

  • yea why do horrors never horrify people anymore? this was the 2nd tht ever scared me

  • @90seffectssuck

    wich movie was the first?

  • yh every modern zombie film i see today is meant to be scary but im sitting there on my couch laughing my ass of, this film is scary

  • dude, did you know that Linda Blair and her mother BOTH got back injuries in the first EXORCIST?

  • Good review,kid

  • @CaptPreston this kid has alot more balls then me he actually watched the exercist

  • In fact after the movie came out Mercedes Cambridge wanted to sue the producers because after all that she went through to do the voice they did not include her in the credits! They finally included her in the credits!

  • You said you weren't sure how they did Linda Blair's voice! The famous actress, Mercedes Cambridge, recorded her voice which was dubbed in for Linda Blairs. The producer Friedkin made her chain smoke and gargle with egg whites to produce the eerie voice!

  • u can honestly say....... WHAT THE FUUUUUUCK!!

  • I must admit two things. 1) I am so sick and tired of looking at YouTube videos and then checking out comments posted by people like grandtheftauto5555. If you are going to make a comment, use proper grammar! Is it that hard? If I were you I would be embarassed to ever say/write anything ever again. 2) Nice review, I loved it.

  • stop chating and let me now i dont cair about ur information

  • Read the novel and compare with the film. The film has none of the nuance or building of suspense of the novel (except for the scene where Chris walks through the house with the lights flickering on and off). Other than that the film is one big collection of cheap gimmicks. For example, characters in long dialogue scenes speak in ever decreasing cadences followed by some loud bang or other. And the film makers touting (then and now) the "seriousness" of the subject ad nauseum.

  • They should never have done the follow up "Version you never saw". It dumbed down and watered down the original cut. So obvious that the "spider walk" girl isn't even Linda Blair. Today THE EXORCIST is one great big BORE. Mercedes McCambridge did the voice of the demon and often sounds like the comic PHYLLIS DILLER. The DICK SMITH make up is the greatest aspect of the original.

  • stop talk and let us watch!

  • can you stop talking and show the flim!!!

  • I don't mean to be critical but I'd like to clarify a bit. First of all in the first one she was possessed by pazuzu not "the Devil himself". That's made clear in the book and the commentary and second, the "evil raspy" voice of the demon was not produced by Linda Blair. The scenes near the end where she appeared to be speaking in a demon voice was actually a woman who had been chain smoking, and eating raw eggs for three weeks dubbing over her. Also his last name is Karras not "Harras".

  • @drbigglebum No its the Devil ,the kid is right. The book only talks about merrin seeing a statue of pazuzu thats it. In the directors commentary, william fredkin clearly says"There is only 1 demon and thats the Noonday Devil."Fredkin states this after Merrin tells Karras there is only 1.

  • weres part 2? nice review

  • cinemassacre rip off you rip him, off word for word and you seem like you rush it, (and i bet youre going to remove this coment and it you do youre not only riping of james rolfe youre not even going to admit it)

  • Excellent work, audio especially.

  • no check out the cinemassacre review it's like this but he (cinemassacre) posted his first! and he does more horror reviews

  • this review is epic XD do for war of the worlds or cloverfield :]

  • datz scary oooooooohh!
