That Was a Fantastic Tutorial, This is an Example That Working Within You DAWs Signal Processing Is Enough To Make Great Sounding Music, Instead of Adding 3rd Party Plugins. Good Job.
hey ya, thansk again for all this help.. i do appreciate it .. i got a not very expensive sure microphone, a dynamic one. but drivers wise ..i dotn know what you mean ..im a total novice at this im afraid lol.. also i tried using each input of the prefrences tab but i only have two to choose from, my reltek wave or direct one.. and the wave dont work at all. sooo confused what im doing wrong.. i bet its something really basic
Hey eevryone, is there anyone who can help me as an Ableton novice..every time i try to record my vocals using a microphone over the top of my ready mde backing track , for some reason it also reocrds the backing track on the new audio microphone track EVEN THO i use earpphones ..plsss help ..cant record vocals at all on finished tracks Stephen x
@StephenDeadToLife does the backing track on the vocal track sound exactly like the backing track? or just kind of in the background as if it was recorded by a mic? in the last case it could mean that your headphones are too loud so it 'bleeds' into the microphone. however in the first case it would mean that your inputs and outputs are not properly set up in ableton itself.
hey there, firstly thank you so much for this replty asd its still an issue.. yer i tried to turn down my earphones to barely hearing it myself with em in! lol.. and still it happens.. its like an exact copy of the backing track if i try to do vocals.. . i have the mike right into the pc front pannel or thru my amp and yet it always does it.. im guessing your right about the inputs.. i got zero idea on how to set it up tho :-( can you help me? thank you sooooo much
@StephenDeadToLife go to Options> Preferences and go to the Audio tab and then check what it says in the Audio Input Device. if it's copying exactly what it's playing then it could be your Ableton that is recording it's own output, if you get what I'm saying. make sure that you have just your microphone selected there
@comemisscoma hey again, thanks for your help again.. i checked outt the pref tab as you said, i have a reltek HD sound card and it says for input "reltek HD Audio Input DX " and for output it says Rel tek HD Output DX" i cant see any options for selecting the individual microphone thing.. im so confused but im def sure it is re recrding its own output as you say..im a lso sure its somthoing to do with the set up .. any ideas?
@StephenDeadToLife try out every input you can choose from the drop-down menu. also, what kind of microphone do you have, have you got the latest drivers?
Great tutorial!!! Is an exciter usually applied after EQ, Reverb and other effects? Or should it come first? Or in parallel? I was just wondering where in the effects chain it is usually placed.
i like how the closed caption reads out kilohertz as "kill hurts"

can you send individual chains out of the drum rack to the main returns? if so, how?

wow, i did not expect this, to change the sound so much, when you turned the return track up! thanks, awesome tip! :)
