@lustar3232 If you are thinking along the lines of Fritos® as the prototypical corn chip, then you do indeed have a point. But remember that tortillas are made of corn.
@emmfc Wasn't putting down your video or anything like that, I was just really craving the Frito Corn Chips and didn't want to leave my house to get them and I thought i would find a YT video to show me how and instead found many videos like yours, lol.
@lustar3232 Never for a moment did I think you were putting me down. No offense taken at all. Not at all. I wonder if DIY Fritos can be found on a clone site like Top Secret Recipes... I was just looking at some copies of the ever so sophisticated New Yorker Magazine from back in the 1940s. There's ads for Fritos in there! They are way popular!
That disgusted me for some reason would of been a better ending in silence, only thing that should of been making noise was the chips and music IMO anyway thanks for showing me how to make corn chops.
@cipher2 "How do you make the tortillas and the bag?" By getting out into the real world, applying for a job. Getting said job. Earning $1.50 then going to a food store and buying the fucking things. Capish?
@emmfc, The video says homemade tortilla chips, not store bought and cooked, sooooooo I just wanted a recipe to make them, I know how to buy things cause I live in america. Oh yeah, "Getting said job." what does that even mean?!?...tardwipe. I'll go out and buy the bloody tortillas if you go and get yourself an elementary education, k.
@cipher2 Tortilla rage? Holy shit. Okay, I will spell it out: HOMEMADE CORN CHIPS it says, not chips from homemade tortillas. HOMEMADE CORN CHIPS Not Homemade tortilla chips. Christ on a fucking crutch, get a goddamn sack of masa de harina and make your own tortillas for all I care. I just said I would show how to make the chips.
@Shmaynoria That is a distinction without a difference. Tortillas are so idiotically labor intensive and you can get 2 pounds ready-made for a buck. So why bother? But I'll tell you what, I will make my own tortillas next time and then you can say it is not from scratch because I did not grow the corn myself. Thanks for the comment. See you at the Atlantic City Nit-Picker Convention next year...
I never thought I would ever be able to make corn chips in my lifetime but here we have it. simple easy corn chips. How do they taste? and would you recommend any other seasoning apart from salt??
@jarmen2 Whatever you like! Garlic salt, onion powder, even Cajun seasoning for some heat. The main thing is to add it while the chips are hot so it sticks. Let me know how it works.
@MilesB1975 Thanks for the concern! What you don't see here are pegs on the bottom of the board which secure it firmly in place. So it was not really balanced. That said, the pegs are worn down now and, alas, I am no longer able to use my little corner. And as you so rightly note, I will never be able to count to 10 if I continue anyway.
again not from scratch, but at least it didn;t claim to be. I want to see corn chips being made from corn, using corn, maybe you'd use a blender to chop the corn up into a soft gel and then youd fry portions of them until they were crispy crackers called corn chips!
@theno1katzman The best way to go from near scratch is to buy Masa Harina and make your own tortillas. But that is so labor intensive and tortillas are sooooo inexpensive that I find this is the way to go.
Fritos are so salty and oily that I get stomach aches from them so I don't eat them anymore, at least when you make your own you can control that part of it. Homemade food is so much better for you anyhow. Good stuff, I want some of that!
These are tortilla chips

Please don't cut them balancing on the edge of the sink, You need all your fingers to dip in the salsa!
