this not dumb. It's the base technic used in the job "kinesiologist". Just go to one of these, ask him a personal question and see if he can tell you what's the answer.
For exemple : you choose a number between 1 and 100. You ask him to do this technic in you. And he can find your number !
Exemple : You chosed 35. He test by saying - it's between 50 and 100 => fingers open => no - it's between 30 and 50 => fingers hold on => yes - etc...
A similar test is to interlink index fingers and thumb together of both right and left hands and then try to pull them apart. Look up kinesiology muscle testing as well.
This is a joke right? A controlled experiment based on arbitrary muscle control? In the hope that you can do something exactly the same every time and not being biased? At the very least this only exposes the inner bias toward the "energy field" in question. In other words you will only respond how you want to no matter what. It's suggestive power.
So ya, this may be an actual technique pasted down from ancient times. But i do not see the human body as being able to carry out such a repeditive controled act. Of course people are going to believe this works if they have practiced it for a few days, they have committed something of their own (time and energy) into this belief. It is a natural human reaction to believe in something if you have devoted something to it. @dannyrambo1 Thanks for your reply. Take a look at my video The Religion of Science. Then look for other videos about kinesiology. There is a ton of evidence for these sorts of extraordinary things. The problem is that we can't yet reduce it to mathematical equations... but then we can't to that for a unified field theory either. My undergraduate experience focused on both physics and psychology... so I get the conventional scientific approach. Still I have seen things that don't fit into that.

I captured the images from both tests and overlayed them. The bottle that appears in both tests is exactly the same, it hasn't moved, it has exactly the same level of liquid and the reflections on the glass are exactly the same. It's impossible to distinguish betweent the two.

@spoddie Thanks for your comments. As you can see in the video, the bottles were shot against a green screen background with studio lighting. The bottles were exactly the same kind and size of sample bottle and were placed on the same spot marked by tape on the green screen background. So, it's not that unusual that they would have the same appearance in the video. In any case, this was an instructional video and not a scientific experiment, so even if it was the same bottle it wouldn't matter.

@spoddie There are plenty of other videos about "muscle testing" or kinesiology on YouTube. Check them out. You can also check out my videos for other examples of reading energy fields. Honestly, I can't explain how these techniques work, but as you can see by watching the hundreds of videos on these subjects, they do seem to produce real results. For example, energetic techniques are amazingly effective for allergies. Placebo effect? Maybe, but the sufferer doesn't care.
@rmorfen I agree with spoddie that this "test" was very suspicious and totally unreliable due to the simplicity of it and the possibility of suggestion, bias and cheating. What would be reliable is a single-blind, or a double-blind test. I'll make up a very simple and secure test that would convince me if it worked.
@rmorfen Randomly let a person fill 15 bottles, some with water and some with something very poisonous. Then let an outsider rearrange the bottles without anyones knowledge of how. Then let a person, who believe that this technique you are showing works, test it in front of every bottle. He or she is almost bound to guess right on 2 or 3 bottles statistically, but if he or she objectively guess right on 12 of 15 bottles, or more, then there is compelling evidence to start taking this seriously.
@rmorfen Such a test would be reliable. You can also do the test repeatedly, with different test subjects, and different amounts of "good" and "bad" bottles. Similar tests have been made regarding mesmerism, animal magnetism and so forth, astrology, tarot, water dowsing, etc. and they have turned out negative. If reliable tests would prove to show positive results, then there's really no reason not to believe it, but until then, as of today, it can be regarded as wishful thinking, really.
@rmorfen One more thing I'd like to point out. I'm not convinced that energetic techniques are effective for allergies at all. Theres a lot of bunk science out there with weak reliability. But even if it was effective against allergies through placebo, placebo is not very good against water poisoning, right? So in this case it is important to actually find out if it works or not, before anyone relies on it.
@SensualLeopardDesign I can only say that I have used energetic techniques to treat a lot of people for allergies. It doesn't work 100% of the time (what does?), but it has definitely provided major relief to the vast majority of people I have treated. The majority of work was for pollen and allergies to animals. Perhaps it was placebo, but that didn't matter to the people who were able to breathe.

Yes but there is a way to use a lot of energy at once.You can control how much energy you release.You can absorb energy in the form of electricity. I had a Kinesiologist test me for Ross River Virus. Certain parts of my body were weak when he had the virus near it. He said I was positive in those areas. But if I had the virus in those areas, wouldn't my body like it and be stronger rather than weaker according to the test shown in the video?

I really doubt the validity of this "muscle test." It could easily be modified by subconscious impulses and change the strength without knowing it. Personally I believe that the only things that are going to modify strength ability is nutrition, daily muscle usage, and the mental ability to break limitations that keep us from hurting ourselves.
Precisely... the subconscious stuff is exactly what is going on here. Go to an experienced chiropractor who does kinesiology. You will be amazed at how you are stong and one minute and weak at another. I don't begin to explain the full mechanism for the phenomena. I just note that it works.

@rmorfen I experience fluctuations in strenght all the time. I'm only 145lbs @ 5'10. Most of the time I can support and lift about 165 lbs. Other times, less often I can hardly lift 100.

This is a joke right? A controlled experiment based on arbitrary muscle control? In the hope that you can do something exactly the same every time and not being biased? At the very least this only exposes the inner bias toward the "energy field" in question. In other words you will only respond how you want to no matter what. It's suggestive power.

So ya, this may be an actual technique pasted down from ancient times. But i do not see the human body as being able to carry out such a repeditive controled act. Just as in the term 'no ones perfict' This sort of test would have to be preformed by a machine in this point of our evolution. Just my opinion..but like i said Iv never really gotten into the lower forms of training. I just do what is needed when its needed. lol

But dont get me wrong im in no way trying to put you down. How your abilities work is entirly based upon how you percive them to work. But these type of physical testings can not be...i dont even know how to word it. lol But ya..I do however remember when I was very young, when sleeping, if my left ring finger would get to close to one of my top eye teeth it would create a constant pulsating electric spark. You could atually see it at night sometimes. Finger and tooth would hurt the next day.

@dannyrambo1 Thanks for your reply. Take a look at my video The Religion of Science. Then look for other videos about kinesiology. There is a ton of evidence for these sorts of extraordinary things. The problem is that we can't yet reduce it to mathematical equations... but then we can't to that for a unified field theory either. My undergraduate experience focused on both physics and psychology... so I get the conventional scientific approach. Still I have seen things that don't fit into that.

I guess this was just a "simulated" test.
I captured the images from both tests and overlayed them. The bottle that appears in both tests is exactly the same, it hasn't moved, it has exactly the same level of liquid and the reflections on the glass are exactly the same. It's impossible to distinguish betweent the two.
Quite simply you are a fraud and you've been called on it.

@spoddie Thanks for your comments. As you can see in the video, the bottles were shot against a green screen background with studio lighting. The bottles were exactly the same kind and size of sample bottle and were placed on the same spot marked by tape on the green screen background. So, it's not that unusual that they would have the same appearance in the video. In any case, this was an instructional video and not a scientific experiment, so even if it was the same bottle it wouldn't matter.

@spoddie There are plenty of other videos about "muscle testing" or kinesiology on YouTube. Check them out. You can also check out my videos for other examples of reading energy fields. Honestly, I can't explain how these techniques work, but as you can see by watching the hundreds of videos on these subjects, they do seem to produce real results. For example, energetic techniques are amazingly effective for allergies. Placebo effect? Maybe, but the sufferer doesn't care.

@rmorfen I agree with spoddie that this "test" was very suspicious and totally unreliable due to the simplicity of it and the possibility of suggestion, bias and cheating. What would be reliable is a single-blind, or a double-blind test. I'll make up a very simple and secure test that would convince me if it worked.

Then let a person, who believe that this technique you are showing works, test it in front of every bottle. He or she is almost bound to guess right on 2 or 3 bottles statistically, but if he or she objectively guess right on 12 of 15 bottles, or more, then there is compelling evidence to start taking this seriously.

@rmorfen Such a test would be reliable. You can also do the test repeatedly, with different test subjects, and different amounts of "good" and "bad" bottles. Similar tests have been made regarding mesmerism, animal magnetism and so forth, astrology, tarot, water dowsing, etc. and they have turned out negative. If reliable tests would prove to show positive results, then there's really no reason not to believe it, but until then, as of today, it can be regarded as wishful thinking, really.

@rmorfen One more thing I'd like to point out. I'm not convinced that energetic techniques are effective for allergies at all. Theres a lot of bunk science out there with weak reliability. But even if it was effective against allergies through placebo, placebo is not very good against water poisoning, right? So in this case it is important to actually find out if it works or not, before anyone relies on it.

@SensualLeopardDesign I can only say that I have used energetic techniques to treat a lot of people for allergies. It doesn't work 100% of the time (what does?), but it has definitely provided major relief to the vast majority of people I have treated. The majority of work was for pollen and allergies to animals. Perhaps it was placebo, but that didn't matter to the people who were able to breathe.

I really doubt the validity of this "muscle test." It could easily be modified by subconscious impulses and change the strength without knowing it. Personally I believe that the only things that are going to modify strength ability is nutrition, daily muscle usage, and the mental ability to break limitations that keep us from hurting ourselves.

Precisely... the subconscious stuff is exactly what is going on here. Go to an experienced chiropractor who does kinesiology. You will be amazed at how you are stong and one minute and weak at another. I don't begin to explain the full mechanism for the phenomena. I just note that it works.

@rmorfen But what is the use for that? You cannot even get "new information from your subconscious", because the outcome of the test is just what you expected! And if you say to yourself "I am not expecting anything right now", it is still the same, because you cannot expect nothing. Think about that.

@rmorfen I experience fluctuations in strenght all the time. I'm only 145lbs @ 5'10. Most of the time I can support and lift about 165 lbs. Other times, less often I can hardly lift 100.

@JaysonSR not just that....there are things you'll never understand about "strength" untill you've practised a martial art for too long
