Ok...the best part about music is if the lyrics remind you of something you're going through, then you can take it how you want to take it. You can listen to it for the reason you like it. Even if Red did in fact write the song about god, when I hear this, I think of my ex. If you know the majority of red's songs, and have watched their videos, you'll see that obviously there was a girl in the singers life that he lost and wants back. the song can have a double meaning
