@88douchebag This sounds good but how does one then know right from wrong and whether this is the right path? Where would teaching about right and wrong come into it? it has no place, you just have to FIND your will. Up until that point do I don whatever?

Exactly how does one go about doing what one wilt? It sounds good, but how many people can actually go around doing whatever they want all the time? Those that can, don't really need to be encouraged to do it, they're going to do it anyway. Maybe I'm just misunderstanding "do what thou wilt" Maybe there's actually more to it that just doing whatever you want all the time. It looks pretty cool inscribed on the Led Zeppelin III trail off wax.

The is no good & evil just consequences, but if you cant get your mind around that just think about this, light only ever can existences with in darkness and dont forgot who the bringer of light was/is. then try this if Lucifer is evil then light must be evil then if that is so maybe darkness is true freedom or Lucifer is not evil and this is the best bit if Lucifer is not evil then what would that make our so called God/s. If I save my money, the consequence is that I will have money but it comes from me saving it in the first place. Consequence is not it a vacuum, it is caused by an action.
There is good and evil, for sure.
What would you call a man throwing a baby into alligator alley because he is upset with the childs mother? is that just a consequence.

the consequences is the baby will die by being eating or just from the fall those are the facts or consequences but its is only our opinion that its evil the the man will face consequences for doing this judgment, hate, guilt (if sane), and its is my opinion thats is "good" ( or a good consequence) that he will be ass raped in jail for doing such an act, But some would say that is evil (or evil consequence) fundamental flour is that good & evil is only an opinion but consequences happen anyway

@ElTronW Good and evil is an opinion????? Good and evil is determined by law. In other words, law dictates right and wrong. It is not based upon personal ideals or concepts, but a universal law, which comes from God and not man. Everthing in exsistence is governed by law, whether it be the laws of physics, or natural law. Our daily conduct is also under the same restraints, if you break the law then you deal with the consequences.

@rmaynard626 Sorry dude law is a idea too, hell most of what we know about god is an idea. the concept of law is a man made idea physics an all that only exists in our mind i.e even as good as physics are they still are theory and subjugated to interpretation. Man made the law of gravity but the consequences of what we call gravity happened before man made that law and will happen after. consequences happen so man trys to make rules and laws ect to explain and justifier them.

@MrSluggo666 well If Christ is real then any teaching that opposes it would be evil, in that you are correct, nothing else is needed.
The sad part is that his teaching did not even lead to a good end for himself. A world of sex and drug indulgence will lead to no good for anyone. So his teachings by way of his life were a failure and will lead to nothing but folly if followed.
Man is not God, man cannot attain truth in and of himself and when man believes that you will get chaos.

The OTO is a complex subject. It didn't split up so much as having issues with succession. There are several groups that claim legitimacy, with the one most people are aware of being claimed by Carl Germer.
I would say the cosmological ideas in Thelema are Crowley's, the morality is more of a refining.

Leary actually got it wrong. it isn't that one is to do it under love, but in fact, Thelema-which is the system of magick and paganism he founded-celebrates the will to the point of it being stated in his axiom: Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law. Love is the law, love under will. that is, even love is to be subject to one's will. Thelema is the worship and exaltation of man's will.

@HermitintheRain sin in the most exalted work of Crowley-The Book of the Law/Liber 418-is measured as anything that prevents one from fulfilling and achieving their will. therefore, in short, as it is stated in Liber 418, sin is restriction-referring to anything that resticts the free excercise of your will-even if it is love that is doing the restricting.

The influence of Crowley on modern society of paganism, humanism, and hedonism cannot be over-estimated. I spent some 20 years deceived and deluded by the world of Crowley. Eventually, the Lord in his mercy delivered me from my delusion in rebellion.

@HermitintheRain Surprisingly, at least to me, when I came out of the semi-secret world of Thelema and the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn and the OTO, when I first found myself in a local church, I was appalled at the clear and present influences of Thelemic influences in the church, seminary and local southern baptist college.

@HermitintheRain It didn't take me long to see how this influence found its way into the church. There is a chain of influences that have occured to bring this about: starting with a name well known in the world of psychology-Carl Jung-a member of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. Incorporated the symbolisms and idealogies of it and transformed it into more sterile/scientific language.

@HermitintheRain Through the works of Carl Jung finding acceptance into the psychology departments of most christian universities, the idealogy began to take root. Over time, this idealogy has been indoctrinated and adopted by those being trained for ministry. A couple generations later, with further adjustments of the language to fit/sound more 'biblical' has allowed its influence to take precedence in most church committees.

@HermitintheRain to the point, that as we see today, most churched, if you removed the language of christianity and the bible used in them, would find that what they teach, what they stand for, is nothing different than what is found in the basic teachings of Crowley's works. The most influencial of which is not in the Book of the Law, but in his more philosophical treatises, and short story parables in the larger works known as the Equinox.

@HermitintheRain many churches as a result are nothing short of the synagogues of satan, where from the pulpit to the pews, what is found in them is a collection of goats parading around as sheep, with wolves disguised as ministers of righteousness to deceive those who want to be deceived. I use to get discouraged by what I have been made to witness.

@HermitintheRain But he Lord has reminded me through many passages, but none so powerfully as in John 10 regarding his sheep. They hear his voice, and a stranger will they not give heed to. Through it all, the Lord has shown me, effectually, how he is saving his people, without fail. To my brethren, be you found, or yet to be found, hear his voice, cling to it. Be truly baptised/immersed in him-in his word. As the days grow darker, the need for greater light becomes ever more urgent.
