I saw Abjeez years ago at a Persian festival in Rotterdam which I attended with my ex-fiancé. I bought their demo for 10 Euro and was the best demo I've ever heard!!
These girls have real talent, as does the rest of the band. They are no slouches on their instruments. I wish them the best in their success and feel honored to have seen them let alone buy a demo right from their hands and I still have it!!

I guess the original intention of the band was to write an anti-war song, but the result sounds like a fake imitation.
Its a great idea to write and perform songs to convey a social/ political message, but it requires a bit of talent and creativity, which is lacking in this case. Poor lyrics, poor music

I think couple of examples may solve the problem. Lets compare this song with The Sound of Silence or The Strange Fruit. They criticize Social/Political Containment in two different periods in American history by the use of allegory, metaphor, symbolism and tone.

Oh, also there can be a difference between the middle east and greater middle east, but most listings I know of still consider pakistan and afghanistan to be in the middle east. Though going back and looking now it is about half and half

The last time you checked a map Iran was in the middle east? I hate to break it to you but Iran isn't in the middle east. It's in Asia. Maybe to us in America it's the same thing, but it's an important distinction to some people.
Anything east of the gulf isn't considered the middle east.

You are absolutely right. except Iran isn't east of the "Persian" gulf. It's north of it and has the largest coast line with the gulf than all the other countries with a coast line put together. Iran is in not only in the middle east but arguably the most important country (strategically). But to your point afghanistan, pakistan, tajikistan, uzbekistan, etc are all in central asia.

FYI: These girls (Melody Safavi and Safoura Safavi) are Iranian. Last I checked a map Iran was still a located in the Middle East. They also live in Sweden and US not London! Last but not least, this is a reggae style song ... The Clash is punk and completely on the opposite side of Reggae genre.

The Clash were hugely influenced by reggae. Mikey Dread produced songs by them and even sung on 'Bank Robber'. Yep, they played dub basslines..
I've been hunting for Iranian reggae for long time, unsuccessfully it seems, well til now.
but yeah, punk & Reggae co-exist with one another, long history there. Johnny Rotton did vocals on a Creation Rebel lp. Bad Brains. Don Letts. PIL. On-U Sound, the list goes on....

Abjeez expressed in this video that people should not be bombed into submission, which is what our military is used for frequently. We kill a lot of non-militants and it is damning to our reputation as liberators. It doesn't matter if we don't do this deliberately; we do it. The Iraq war brought a new kind of terror: ours.

It totally depends how we define innovation and creativity. Maybe you are right and I dont see the literary devices used in this song. Dont get me wrong, I am not a brain washed republican pro-Bush, but this does not mean that I call anything against him and his policies cool and innovative. Anyways, I do have a respect to you and people like you, assuming that this is the maximum level of literal and musical complexity you guys can analyze.

I guess the original intention of the band was to write an anti-war song, but the result sounds like a fake imitation.
Its a great idea to write and perform songs to convey a social/ political message, but it requires a bit of talent and creativity, which is lacking in this case. Poor lyrics, poor music

These guys are not only cool and innovative, but they are also extremely brave to have the guts to touch such a sensitive issue at that difficult time. This video was made during the era of the despotic Bush administration. You only see a small part of their cruelty on the media today.

I think couple of examples may solve the problem. Lets compare this song with The Sound of Silence or The Strange Fruit. They criticize Social/Political Containment in two different periods in American history by the use of allegory, metaphor, symbolism and tone.
BTW, I do respect you as well, regardless of your messed up grammar.

you don't need to invade Saudi Arabia if you read a little bit more in your life you will understand that all the oil supply in the middle east are connected to each other. The Saudi Arabia is the main producer but that doesn't mean they have more oil than the others once you invade one country in the middle east you can pump up the entire oil.
