I love Blind Guardian's references to different literature and movies. This song is based on the end of The Dark Tower series by Stephen King, and is about the characters Roland the Gunslinger and Jake Chambers.

Another song by Blind Guardian which is also based on that book series is Somewhere Far Beyond, released in an album of the same name.
