PER tracks overall play (pts, assists, rebs, blocks, FG% etc.), while Win Shares tracks (from a offensive & defensive standpoint) who's responsible for the MOST WINS for the team!
It's Gasol who's led LA in +/- (positive vs negative) on-court production the last 3 seasons, while kobe consistently finishes 3 (he finished 5th this season), but he's supposed to be the leader?!!
That means that individually, Gasol & those 4 other guys did a BETTER job at contributing MORE positive production to the team's output than kobe LOL!!
LA missed the playoffs in '05 and were eliminated in the 1st Rd by PHX TWICE in '06 & '07.
B4 Gasol's arrival in '08, LA was 29-16 and LOSERS of 4 of their last 6 games. After he arrives, they go 28-9 down the stretch, and made 3 straight finals & U wanna get rid of him?!!
