Our Goffins loves people food too lol, they're omnivorous (since they eat insects too)
Did you know one of the reasons they like people food is simply BECAUSE it's people food? They learn off seeing humans eating something that's it's an ok thing to eat.
Is steak his favourite thing to eat over anything? Our Goffin's likes orange best
@FurubaAddict We've watched Jake grow from being leery of certain things to realizing that it's ok & he can have some without fear of it 'killing' him. LOL It's very cute when we show him something & he's nervous of it but as soon as we start eating it he realizes it's food & it's ok. If we're eating it, it must be ok. LOL
He'll eat pretty much anything. He's not too picky but like people, he wants what he wants when he wants it or is in the mood for it. He gets cravings just like we do.
Thanks for sharing that. I was aware of it but it's a good reminder for readers. :) He's a little piggy & loves all kinds of food. He enjoys his steak but we do limit his intake of it.
The both like eating chicken & turkey meat & the bones but he especially loves his steak for some reason. He gets super excited after eating steak though & bounces all over the place hooting & hollering. LOL :)
Very cute little goffins you have there! You may already know this but just incase...
steak contains high levels of iron which can lead to Hemochromatosis (iron storage disease) and high cholesterol and blood pressure in companion parrots and softbills. If you guy really likes meat you may want to try offering him chicken or turkey instead and they typically adore eating and playing with the bones!
