I dont want to be rude or anything really, but you should have played metal of any genre with the the modern and high gain settings of the lead channel.... with no reverb since metal doesnt use it in riffs :D something in drop D or even C, anyway nice review. I do own one, I just wanted to see pleople playing metal on it.
@TheBlakem Yeah and they're pretty hard to compare because the ht 5 is a tube amp.. But i really don't know witch one to buy (im just gonna use it as a practise amp at home)
@iGuessiLikeIt I do know that the Bandit sounds REALLY REALLY close to a tube amp, it also has different wattage settings, so it's great for home and for gigging... Id go with the bandit.. its a powerhouse and it sounds great without tube worry.
@smurfjimpan i believe the older ones do not have the power setting switch on them.. but they do have the Trans Tube technology and are made in America. The old old ones do not have the trans tube technology and do not sound nearly as good.
My reply is more than 500 characters, but the first generation (1995) and second generation (2000-2004) will do the same thing with two exceptions, the clean channel warm voicing and speaker sim output are new options for the new 2006-? bandits. Also the new ones have a redesigned transtube section. I will send you some more info.
hey man, I forgot to ask: 'cause of all those option switches for modern, classic etc, and on the back I saw 4 different switches as I recall for all sorts of different amp options - is it reliable? Did you experience any problems, 'cause I'm skeptic when it comes to too much "gadgets" on an amp and the effect amps... ???
And to think I actually considered paying 440 Euros for a Marshall MG102FX, sheesh... dude, thank you, this amp is for me! I will only need a good delay pedal and for starters - I'm all set :) thanks again mate, excellent review!
How is this amp handling Judas Priest stuff? I think i am gonna buy it. It's realy great. :) \m/

Thank you for some great reviews, man! But there is one thing, and I don't think you will be able to answer, but what the hell. :)
Here goes.. What is the difference between the "old" bandit and the 2008 bandit?
I know a guy that's gonna sell hit older version of it, but should I buy a new one instead?

-i love your review of this amp, the only thing that is disapointing me, is that you don´t play metal, while testing the metal tone.

what i really love about this amp is if you put in the low gain input you get a REALLY vintage sound AKA "the sound of awesomnes" :)

I will try that! thanks :)
