@StarSpawn06 zerg are a carbon copy of tyranids during the time when starcraft came out (and no, the bugs from starship troopers are nothing like tyranids) and the space marines from starcraft are just a watered down, more cliche version of space marines from warhammer...and theres definitely eldar influence in the protoss
@StarSpawn06 you are truly going to sit there and deny that starcraft didn't get any inspiration from 40k? really? I'm not asking you to admit that they outright copied games workshop, but if you seriously try to deny that blizzard didn't take any ideas from 40k you have lost any and all credibility
Zerg = Tyranids (Biotic savage aliens that don't use any particular technology that isn't fully biotic. Consumes worlds, is controlled by one supreme "Hive Mind" Claws, Spines, Acid)
Protoss = Eldar (Super-tech aliens with psychic mind powers, energy shields, cloaking capabilities)
FYI the HEV mark 4 round has the power to eliminate the toughest zerg opponent including the dreaded ultralisk. the name stands for High Explosive Velocity round. the round weighs 4.21 pounds. it has the ability to pass through multiple targets and is very accurate. it was commonly used by the arclite mark 2, before it was replaced by the mark 3 (starcraft) which was replaced by the Crucio tank (starcraft 2).
@frostblade62 yeah I was actually just trying to troll, and being an avid warhammer 40k fan I felt that trying to demonstrate to you the superiority of imperial space marines over those from starcraft would make you angry, but alas it didn't work
@starhawks1 The big difference between 40k marines and starcraft marines is that starcraft marines are foot soldiers, more akin to the imperial guard than the Adeptus Astartes. Of course, since everything in 40k is so insanely powerful, they'd still annihilate starcraft, mass effect, star wars, star trek, pretty much any other sci fi series I've watched short of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann (which, incidentally, the only work of fiction I've heard of that's more over the top than 40k)
out of all of the cinematics, this is its most definitely my favorite (yes i have the game) Just so epic. Epic sniper bullets. So heavy they break the ground...plus an epic banshee attack = pure epicness
i was able 2 record 1 of the cutscenes in SC2 (the first one with Tycus) and it was fine, and then every other time i try doing the other 1s its always sped up real fast, ne suggestions?
the HEV mark 4 zerg elimination canister is prepped for use in all weather and climates, and it's armor piercing capabilities can bring down an ultralisk.

Warfield was probably referring to the firestorms.

too bad they can't be space marines from warhammer 40k..you know, real ones...because then they could take care of the zerg in a day or two
starhawks1 7 months ago
@starhawks1
in the pre-release version of SC1, Terran soldiers were called "Marauders", after the ORIGINAL "space marines", from Starship Troopers ( 1959 ).
This name reappears in SC2 for the Terran heavy infantry anti-armour unit.
StarSpawn06 4 months ago
@StarSpawn06 I was trying to bring to light the fact that starcraft ripped off warhammer 40k. You over-evaluated my comment
starhawks1 4 months ago
@starhawks1
And I was trying to bring to light the fact that SC DID NOT "rip off" WH40K.
what do you mean by "over-evaluated" ?
StarSpawn06 4 months ago
@StarSpawn06 you brought up irrelevant information is what I meant by over-evaluated...and yes, starcraft blatantly ripped off warhammer
starhawks1 4 months ago
@starhawks1
You ignored my proof, but have given none for yourself.
What part of SC links it more closely to WH40K, than, say, Starship Troopers or Aliens, which SC clearly references ?

@starhawks1
You need to show me specific concepts in SC which clearly reference WH40K and nothing else.
How clear is clear ? like this:
In 40K: ... navigators, lasguns, etc from the Dune novels; symbol and function of Chaos from Moorcock's Multiverse.
In SC: ... marauders, spore cannons etc from Starship Troopers; some quotes and scenes lifted from Aliens.
I see no such significant link between SC and 40K.
Rather, there are many clear differences. I'll list them if you want.

@starhawks1
Strawman. I never denied that SC took some inspiration from 40K. All we have are the developers' own story. If they say so, it is so.
Besides, Blizzard took inspiration from all over sci-fi. Same can be said of GW.
What I am disproving is your earlier stand that SC is a just a bad imitation of 40K, which you based on mere rough impression.
And now that you've modified your stand, my work is done ( ... or do you still need that list of diffs ? )
Go enjoy the game, bro. GLHF :)

@StarSpawn06
Terran = Imperium (Power armored super-soldiers)
Zerg = Tyranids (Biotic savage aliens that don't use any particular technology that isn't fully biotic. Consumes worlds, is controlled by one supreme "Hive Mind" Claws, Spines, Acid)
Protoss = Eldar (Super-tech aliens with psychic mind powers, energy shields, cloaking capabilities)
Same can go for Halo, being,
Terran = Imperium = UNSC
Zerg = Tyranids = Flood
Protoss = Eldar = Covenant
Izula 3 months ago
@Izula
they overlap, but they are not identical.
The Imperium & UNSC do not have nuke missiles that fly *from one world to another*. ( afaik )
The nids have little emotion or personality. The Flood ( as seen in the games ) cannot travel through space by their own power.
the Eldar are not photosynthetic. The Covenant's goal and background is completely different from that of the Eldar or Protoss.
etc etc
StarSpawn06 3 months ago
@StarSpawn06 The UNSCg ranges (I think a NOVA class destroyed half a Covenant Fleet, but that wasn't fired, just set off)
Otherwise, they're just similar concepts, if they were the exact same, it'd be copyright infringement.

@starhawks1 warhammer and sc both just have stuff from the movies aliens , predator, and star wars.
