Guys, this song is incredible. And I also think that albums like "Ixnay..." or "Smash" have created the history of punk rock.

But I also think that works like "Splinter" or "Rise and Fall" are still great proofs of their capacity.

I give all my respect to this band, my favorite one, absolutely!

The band have said in interviews that they've mellowed out over the past 20 years and have opened up to a lot of new music so perhaps they're experimenting on the newer albums like many bands do.

It's off of their Self Titled debut. It was only released on Vinyl at first. But it's available through Nitro Records now, they're Dexter Holland's record company and pretty small, so it might be hard to get.

SOME of punk rock was born as political statement (not anti-political. Anti-politician maybe) But a lot of it was about making music independant of the big labels. And it was about having fun. Da Hui is just a fun song, about tough guy surfers who don't take kindly to wannabes in their waves. But of course, you are entitled to think it's stupid. Again, not all punk songs have to be political.
