@subzero92MK nope , i am saying that daewoo get license from opel :) and all i can say about daewoo is that they did great job in facelifting last nexia... but Nexia N150 (2008) is also a nice car (from UZ-Daewoo)
@subzero92MK only half true. in some countries around russia are nexia cars still sold as daewoo. Maybe from march not because GM discontinued Daewoo brand. But there were some Daewoo Nexia cars. check uzdaewoo(dot)ru :)
@subzero92MK for sure... they biggest mistake was, when they bought Ssangyong (or whatever it was named :D) in 1998 when was asian financial crysis... they should be still here ...
The "international marketing" story on these gets even stranger:
Holden were building the engines for this model, and yes, it did start life as an Opel built under licence. Daewoos came to Australia under their own badge, but because of their overly generous warranties and poor build quality, the company tanked. Somehow they refinanced. Holden imports Daewoos, but to their specs, with Holden badges. Pretty sure Chevrolet does too/
they wwere launched in the uk but were rebranded as mercury you can by deawoos as chevys here and you can by the deawoo matiz as the karin CQ in china
@daewooparts in the UK they had deawoo electronics since 1979 since it was recognized brand they didn't want Brits to think WTF when they launched the nexia so they re badged it as mercury nexia
it was for good. They cars had been troubling for all users and the fact that their quality inside and out was below marginal! It's good to know that Hyundai and KIA are not into daewoo's cursed path to bankruptcy!
this is not daewo o lemans, this is opel kadett
