no this is not just another flash1 chip, this is a USB JTAG Programmer, it has no on-board flash.
the other end of the blue wire got soldered to it's proper place, if I remember correctly that point is on the devo chip itself, for further clarification, check the actual install instructions...

kazuya, the problem is in the IDStorage, it sounds like you used a 1.5 dump from a different PSP, this would cause a conflict in the IDStorage area. there is a great deal more to this and there are ways to fix this as long as you dumped the NAND from the PSP you are trying to downgrade, I don't have enough time to explain it here, but try checking out MaxConsole's U.P. forum, there is an extensive amount of related information there.
to get buttons fixed, either attempt it yourself if you have some experience in fixing PSPs or send it to an authorized repair center, or send it to Sony for repairs...
Pros should be able to install the chip in about an hour (if using the suggested install method using epoxy to hold the FPC in place, and having some prior experience in installing the Devolution) but I can't honestly give you anything other than a rough guess...
I used sticky-tac (that's what I've always known it as anyway, it probably has another name but I'm not sure what it is, I'll find it and post it later) adhesive, it's removable and not permanent (unlike epoxy). It held pretty well, just know that once the chips get warm it will come undone a little, but that didn't bother me I just didn't want to use something as permanent and potentially damaging as epoxy...
Sounds like that was Daft's Around the World colliding with Rollin'& Scratching.
LoL Horrible mix. I know cause i mix these songs 3-4 tiems a week. Try 2 different songs that are not on the same album then try with 2 different artists. Then try without your fingers in your ears.
I took out the motherboard, sanded the soldermask off, tinned the traces, soldered the FPC (flexible printed circuit) to the main traces, soldered the grounds and power wires in place, soldered the USB wires in place, and rewired a USB cable to work with it. Pretty much everything that is in the installation instructions that are on the main PSP-Devolution site...
In other words, I installed the new PSP "modchip" (actually a USB JTAG Programmer) PSP-Devolution in a PSP.
"Devolution" and "Undiluted Platinum" modchips require very expertise soldering skillz. Devolution a little less then UP (Undiluted Platinum).
He posted this video to show you the step by step process. This is not a guide video this is simply for people who read the guide and may be confused on proper methods to go about installing this chip.
Good work JR, Quick and solid work, Like the music and the way you presented the video with the white noise/color lines, gotta get one of them chips to try out for myself :)
This comment has received too many negative votes show
mod chips are pointless...its called custom firmware stupid

Hello.
Because English is difficult, it is equal to 0 percent to be able to find information in the
forum of Maconsole.
I manage it if I understand which area there is information in.

It is an installation image.
Formal UPDATA doesn't move after it writes it with the program
software.
This system cannot updated.
The update data is not applicable for this system.
It is displayed.

I installed Devolution in PSP of Fw1.5.
The installation succeeded. And I took out 1.5 Fw with DEVOLUTION_FLASHER_2200.
And I did UPDATE of PSP to version 3.5.
I wrote in 1.5 Fw which I took out some time ago, but a UMD drive does not read a UMD disk afterwards.
Is there the person whom the same symptom was given to?
The Devolution substrate was installed in TA-079.

Really? Wow... It's a mod chip. It allows you to unbrick a PSP, and other stuff. Good for making custom firmwares/downgraders.
