I see nothing wrong with a pinch of arrogance here and there.
For example, I am not very well read on the theory of evolution, and certainly not as well read as I would like to be. But I can usually tell when my ignorance is being exploited, and I will call their bluff every because I'm arrogant like that.
Perhaps things would be different if I refused to learn why something is wrong, but I usually buy a book on the subject of something that eludes my full understanding as soon as possible.

False "confidence" and dogma are in fact, arrogance- Sometimes ones opinion is regarded to self as fact but false, and is often defended with dogma. = unwarranted arrogance-
@shotsxxx Yet Phil could quote the bible better then most christians can. He is not ignorant whatsoever about the issue. And in terms of evidentiary requirements, all religions are shit.
@shkotay My dad can quote most of the Bible word for word. He has no clue what it means though, because he is completely ignorant. It doesn't mean a person is smart because they can remember something. Where do you get that logic from? In terms of evidentiary requirements, evolution is shit- But it's still OK to express your opinion.
@shotsxxx I get that logic from the fact that a number of ppl accuse phil of not knowing what hes talking about when he cites contradictions in the bible. He knows his enemy, as should you. It pays to read the context of what you are going to post on. And if you are a creationist as it seems, then reading stuff out of context is the only way you have to make your arguments stand anyways so I am not surprised if you think evolution has problems in terms of evidence lol!
@shkotay You could take everything you posted to me and apply it to your position as well. I know my enemy very well. You are all deceptive liars- Most of the ramblings posted by atheists have absolutely no context at all. Pretty much the same as the very post in which you responded to me- Maybe you should make effort to understand the context- If you think the theory of evolution is air-tight, then you are truly a fool-
@shotsxxx The only context we need is: who has evidence to supprt their view, and who explains the unknown with GOD DID IT instead of "well thats unknown to me but I am gonna study it n find out"? Dont cheat yourself by looking at the gaps in knowledge and pop in a supernatural explanation where no supprting evidence presently exists. The TOE is NOT air tight but close to it and improves every day and also has one hell of a lot more substantiation the a god nobody has ever yet seen ;) Lol fool.
@shotsxxx ...another strength science/TOE has over creationism is it can explain everything it does know to a large or even total degree, and more importantly will show you HOW its done AND provide applications you can SEE and USE. Creationism wants to force a place for god, all good. But you have to show who god is, where god came fom, how he produces and interacts with matter, why he chose nucleosynthesis and so forth. Science will openly show you everything and be tested. Your god cannot.
@dennis3380 Seriously. Just exactly how could technology possibly "kill religion"? That doesn't even make sense. Are you saying when the new windows 8 hits the market, people will worship their computers simply because it is much faster than windows 7? Hahahahahahaha Technology has nothing to do with God and has no barring on religion. What kind of make-believe, fairy tale world do you live in anyway? Do you realize how much of a silly goose you sound like?
What do all you atheists think about the Luciferians guiding the destiny of this planet? These are the same people that have enslaved us and are responsible for the way you think about religion. Now most of you atheists will call me full of shit but for you to understand what is occurring on this planet you cannot be atheist akin to someone that is color blind. Christ never preached organized religion. Either you believe in the teachings of Christ or you do not. Good luck to you if you don't.
@Meathead36 Your first bit about luciferians guiding the planet's destiny, is quite laughable, but I am interested in your last assertion about the dilemma of either believing in Christ's teaching or not.
In order to answer this excellent question, I ask that you tell me what you consider to be Christ's teachings.
@LetReasonPrevail1 Yes he is correct. Zeitgeist is Luciferian based- they are attempting to bring zeitgeist revolution to the world where only that religion will be allowed- Please research this. I have a video on my channel that proves zeitgeist are Luciferians.
I look at this guy and I wanna laugh. When I here his cocky voice, I wanna laugh. When I read or here his videos or arguments in someone else's voice, blog, or video, I wanna laugh. Because this guy is my natural God. I really love this guy. And that fact he's British, is a nice touch, but this guy is amazing. In fact, he's an amazing atheist.
no abstract creator argument (of which only the fine tuning problem seems worthy of attention) can say anything of the nature of that creator, and will definitely not prove any anthropomorphic crap religions can offer.
There is many people like this. They appear very stable untill religion is mentioned, then the facial contortions start. You can see the anger well up from deep inside them. This is one of the many proofs there is a spiritual battle going on here on earth. If God was non existent, why would one be so obsessed with the non existence? The spiritual battle has already been won 2000 years ago, but yet we still can choose what side we are on. We never get any opportunities like this in our life. †
@virtualguitarist "If God was non existent, why would one be so obsessed with the non existence?" God does exist, as a concept in people's minds, a delusion passed on over countless generations. Many take those imposed ideas they grew up with for real and simply are not able to see through it. Those people reinforce the delusion on each other, as if it were real.
@SeltsamerAttraktor Many unbelievers fail to see the evidence of God because they cannot see him. Most unbelievers would still not believe even if Jesus appeared to them. Turning our backs on Jesus and claiming he does not exist, does not make him go away, he is still reality weither you choose to beleive or not.
@virtualguitarist I never saw any hint of hard, testable evidence that could support the claim of any god's existence, in particular that Christian one. And, that has to be said, I'm a hardcore science nerd who absorbs every bit of information about this universe that he can get. "Knowing"/"feeling" that something like this does exist is not evidence. The same is true for visions, hallucinations and other kinds of weird experiences because both our senses and our mind are by far not reliable.
@SeltsamerAttraktor I can understand why you and many others see no evidence. If we can't see, hear, taste, smell, or touch something, its not there right? I used to think the same way when i was a young explorer.
@virtualguitarist Well, there are a lot of things that cannot be seen, heard, tasted, smelled or touched, but nonetheless they DO exist. But their existence is well supported by tons of measurements, indirect observations, theoretical connections, etc. All believers failed to deliver the smallest piece of evidence, yet they "know". Their god seems to be outside of this world, not connected to anything, left no trace, as if he only existed in people's minds.
A thought on the yesteryears of you lying at school... so are you saying that I got played like a violin while watching one of the videos on Coughlin666Archive yesterday? He looked like he had been crying. I felt bad for him as I did understand to an extent what he was talking about. Pardon me as I pause and go lay my face down on the desk in disbelief at myself. Or maybe he was sincere. Heh heh.
dude im tryin to get his thought started...the universe is god it created itself from nothing because nothing is unstable. and that can be scientifically proven. But any man made god is bs the whole lot of em.
@philhellenes I have a very serious question, do you believe that we have been visited by extraterrestrial life? I have no idea what to believe this day in age I cannot believe government but I have seen UFOs myself, and I can understand it might be our technology, but why would they be hovering there and watching a festival at the harbor? And by the way I was only about 6-7 and I pointed it out and nobody mentioned it before I saw it. It moved and stopped on dimes at super sonic speeds.
Dam....that was excelent, .loved it dude!! I laughed so much, but sooooo much!!! This might seem rude....but i have loads of fun "disarming " every religious character that crosses my way saying something to me like "Do you know that God is hapiness and you can be part of that?"... Of course, like i was just waiting for that moment to know, finally, what hapiness is! Good luck with ur posts - from Portugal!
daym! Awesome onece again! honesty comes through with rawness! Subtle with an intent to explode! I can see you easily in the big screen. You should be an actor! Great vid, thanks!
LOL! Most people will believe anything! You hit it on point. People are really good at exaggerating things. Also for all the people trying to say you had a "real" Ouija board moment or whatever you want to call it, you sound like the people .... "They stink of comple ignorance" ( 6:33 ) . Stop wanting people to believe your BS.
Invent a "Religion" purely for the purpose of making money and adulation for yourself!
As you say people will believe if it you lie with enough conviction, it worked for him and it worked for the older Religions (though their motives may have been different).
I can assure you that it worked for ME, I'm a natural born skeptic, I see every thing as a scam it drives people nuts but I tried the Ouija and it was absolutely amazing.
@coffee396 If you can prove in simple tests that ouija-boards work, the the *James Randi Foundation* will pay you one million dollars! They'll pay that for proving anything supernatural at all, every claim like that that science dismisses. Wouldn't one million dollars be nice? Hehe, it's a shame that ouija is just self-delusion, isn't it? (By the way, check out *James Randi Foundation's* YouTube-channel! They have hundreds of funny debunkings of "supernatural" claims there. : )
First off all, read the conditions for the James Randi money, it's not that easy. Also people that don't understand something and say "god did it" and people that don't understand something and say : "you're delusional" (like you) are the same people.
@coffee396 Oh, there are many other skeptic's societies with similar prizes and simpler rules/paper-work. "Seek, and you shall find", haha! But you or anybody else will never manage any hocus-pocus anyway, because that damned reality and those damned laws of physics stand in the way for you, haha. (By the way, one other guy with million-dollar prizes is Criss Angel....you could maybe try getting busted and exposed as a delusional fool by him instead? Or one of the many other realists.. : )
When I was 17 or 18 years old, me and some friends played with the ouija, we were about 10 of us and I didn't know if the glass was moving by itself or if someone was pushing the glass. So I had an idea, I went in an other room and noted down a series of numbers on a piece of paper, I than asked them to ask what number I wrote, it worked the glass moved to each number correctly ! I wasn't participating and nobody could've seen me write those numbers.
@coffee396 Excuse me..but that's complete bollocks/bullshit. The glass moves because you move it, it never moves by itself, and the number story is exaggerated, you just happened to hit with a few, or sometimes many, like everybody does according to the laws of probability. There's no need to re-write the laws of physics and give you the Nobel prize. By the way, how drunk were you when these "spoooky" things "occured"? Hehe, next case for debunking, please...who's next in line here? Hehe! : )
They don't work, the mechanics of how they "work" has been well known for a long time.
If they worked, you'd be able to "operate" it alone and without even touching the glass or whatever vessel they use the "channel the spirit"s - or micro movements as they actually are.
Interesting comments yes more people have great shit detectors these days and the question of weather the universe was created or not by some one or some thing is interesting and different then weather they give a rats ass if we worship them or they care about us at all its all interesting great vid
You're not arrogant with a razor either :-P Wouldn't it be nice if the fundies could laugh at themselves while presenting their views too? Or would that be pride and they'd go to hell?
I'm a Christian and it may suprise you to that I actually agree with you that religion is well, what you say it is!
But, to take a stand, I must say that Jesus isn't religion. He is far above all that, because He is God. The Great I Am, the Holy One, The Alpha and the Omega, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Son of Man, the Wonderful Counselor. My Savior.
If you figure this out, you realize that religion is man's ways to reach God. Jesus is God's way of reaching man.
Ok, to take a stand, just so you GET it: GODS are bullshit. JESUS is one more little turd in an acient PILE of bullshit. You know how you feel about all the OTHER gods men have worshiped over the centuries? Atheists feel the same way about this last god you're clinging to.
Relish the same feeling of righteous ignorance that the believers in Baal had. Close your eyes, stick your fingers in your ears, and convince yourself that YOUR god is real, but all the thousands of others? Why, people were BLIND FOOLS to believe in THEM! Pathetic.
Sometimes yes. I agree. But as we celebrate Christmas in my home this year, I'm reminded yet again of how beautiful the season really is, and how powerful Jesus Christ has moved in my life and family.
I'd say that God is involved everywhere in mine and I (usually) have no problem letting him have not only my mind, but my heart as well.
Peace on earth and goodwill toward man I say, and have yourself a very Merry Christmas.
If it's involved everywhere, it's because you put it there. Christmas is a good example for this. Assuming Jesus was more than a fictional figure based on the Egyptian stories of Horus, the zodiac, and rebirth, and was instead an actual figure who was born, by Luke's account in the bible that date is August 22, 3BC. Way to usurp Mithra. Merry winter solstice to you too.
Admittedly I don't know much about Horus or Mithra. I don't feel I need to either. I can understand a skeptic not ready to accept the claims of Christ, transceding Himself to not only God-like status but God Himself, but to ignore the historical evidence for the man's earthly presence is absolutely astonishing. Archeoligical, physical artifact and liturgical evidences will be hard to shrug off, and much of which come from sources non-Christian.
I'm not denying there was ever such a man, but it's not a belief I can hold because I haven't had an extra-biblical case for it presented.
I do know that when Christianity invaded and conquered the Norse, they chopped down Odin's tree and stole the winter solstice holiday. The entire Christmas tradition is a plagiarism, much like the properties ascribed to Jesus were stolen from Horus of Egypt who predates Christianity by some three thousand years. They made the whole thing up to get followers.
I'm always amazed that cults even attract followers. I don't know how it happens, I'm certainly not that naieve. and would even doubt Christianity were it not for my experiences. Christmas is derived from 2 greek words. The symbol X, is the early Greek abbreviation for Christ. The Greek word "mas" is merely "festival". "Festival of Christ" would be another accurate name for Christmas.
I think the connections you are making between Christ and Horus are a considerable stretch.
Please allow me. If you trust zeitgeist and the rantings of Gerald Massey over the time tested teachings of the Bible, than you indeed will be a hard case. This "new age" zeitgeist stuff will too fade, just like every other of the never ending antichrist claims. But the Bible is very old. much older than Massey's "poetry", if you can even call it that, and is bought and paid for by the blood of Christ and his followers.
Tell me, do you understand what is unique to Christ?
The writings of Plato on the greek gods are far older than the bible. Does that not mean that the Greek Gods are more real than yours?
You are committing a logic fallacy - appeal to antiquity. The older it is, the more right it is. That is complete nonsense. By that logic, I can claim that the gods of Egypt are more correct than yours, simply because they are older.
You have taken my comment out of context. I was merely making a point with rkyeun. Logical fallacies are committed by all people, of all faiths (or lack thereof), all the time. It's human nature.
You are committing one now. You are appealing to me that the gods of Egypt are false, with which I'd agree, implying that must mean Jesus is false, with which I'd disagree, meaning there is no god at all if all if YOU discount everyone of them.
You have committed an error. My argument was not an appeal. In pointing out the fallacy in your logic via example, I have invalidated the argument. Thus it is up to you to repair the argument else abandon it as a means of support for your faith. nothing of what you said provides any cause, context or reason for the age of the bible to be considered to be more valid that the poetry of some nut. The point you made is non-existent and irrelevant as a result.
Mild humor aside, I am an atheist. I do not believe in any of those fairy tales, in the same way that I do not believe a child that tells me that the Boogyman is in their closet. There is no rational reason to accept any of those stories. No gods, no devils, no heavens, no hells. There is just a vast universe (with life who knows where) with a small blue planet that managed to grow an ape that realizes it's alive. Nothing besides that remains.
Bold statement? Not at all. There has never been any proof in any form of anything supernatural existing. Ever. That is not a claim, that is simple fact. Testimony is not evidence, a book written by bronze age primitives is not evidence, knowing in your *heart* is not evidence. All are claims by men over a system they created. Religion is as man-made as my watch or my computer, only my computer and my watch actually work. We are completely mortal - we live, we die and nothing remains.
How do I know that? Again, there is no evidence that it is different than that. We are our brains - there is nothing about us that is ethereal. Damage to the brain is damage to the personality of the person. That would not and could not be if we were "souls". No souls and no duality of mind/body. When it stops, you stop. Terrifying? Yep, but it is the simple truth of the matter. Deal with it and enjoy the time you have now because you are not getting an eternity afterward. :)
Tell me, Azmo. What is keeping you from all the proof you need? I don't mess around with people's souls, I cut to the chase. Christianity is less about religion and so much more about the power of Jesus Christ. Have you ever asked HIm to reveal Himself to you? No? Why not?
What are you so afraid of? What have you got to lose? When and if you do, you'll see all of it...all of it my friend.
The same canard as always. "Ask Jebus to reveal himself to you and you will have all the proof you need." The most asinine of reasoning because it is not reason at all. There is no jesus to ask. When you asked, your own mind told you something to convince itself for it's own happiness. Nothing wrong with that, but it is not proof. It is, as I said before, a delusion.
What do I fear? In regards to yours and everyone elses gods? Nothing. One does not fear the imaginary. Like the boogyman in the closet or the monster under your bed, the invisible sky wizard is nothing to fear. I give it no more thought that I give unicorns. Face the fact - there is nothing that proves that any of it is real. What's more - there is nothing that you can say that will convince another to share your delusion.
Quote me some scripture from a 2,000 year old book written by primitive people - give me the other canard of "only a fool would deny god" or "the devil believes in you" or threaten me with eternal hell. Doesn't matter. None of it is real.
If I may be so bold and but in into that conversation, but the Bible is a proof only of a fallacy of its clamis and the reason for it is the fact most of it is a plagiarism from other older cultures like Egyptian, Babylonian, Persian, Sumerian, even most of the Jesus's wisdoms were literally copied word by word from the code of Hammurabi, who lived around 1500 B.C.
Its a quite well known fact, but not in a believers environment. :)
A lot of them are just playing along but I think there are also many people, in places like the bible belt, who are really afraid to admit, even to an anonymous poll taker, that they think the idea is a crock. In places like that your life can be ruined if they find out you are an atheist so they just play along.
I can't possibly believe that 85-90% of Americans are that fucking stupid. They have to be playing along. That must be it; they just don't want to be a spoil sport.
It is true that a lot of people are just credulous tards but then there are a lot of people who just like to play along. You know when you are a little kid and you and your frind pretend there is a vampire in the basement and some other kid will be like "vampire's aren't real" and it pisses you off because they are being no fun.
They say about 10-15% of Americans do not believe in god but I think the real number is higher; there are a lot of people who are just playing along.
this guy is so great , he should get his own tv station , so he could reach more peeps worldwide , and hopefully more peeps wil see how it is in the world , lol , ;-)
It is amusing when religious types accuse me of being stroppy or stubborn and defiant about believing in these fables. Until I saw this video I had no idea how I would present my rationale. This is brilliant.
thank god he is on the side of atheism, he sounds like he could have been a wicked preacher.

Dont cheat yourself by looking at the gaps in knowledge and pop in a supernatural explanation where no supprting evidence presently exists. The TOE is NOT air tight but close to it and improves every day and also has one hell of a lot more substantiation the a god nobody has ever yet seen ;) Lol fool.
shkotay 9 months ago

Meathead36 1 year ago
@Meathead36 Your first bit about luciferians guiding the planet's destiny, is quite laughable, but I am interested in your last assertion about the dilemma of either believing in Christ's teaching or not.
In order to answer this excellent question, I ask that you tell me what you consider to be Christ's teachings.
I hope to hear back.
Cheers

There is many people like this. They appear very stable untill religion is mentioned, then the facial contortions start. You can see the anger well up from deep inside them. This is one of the many proofs there is a spiritual battle going on here on earth. If God was non existent, why would one be so obsessed with the non existence? The spiritual battle has already been won 2000 years ago, but yet we still can choose what side we are on. We never get any opportunities like this in our life. †

musli4brekkies 1 year ago
@virtualguitarist "If God was non existent, why would one be so obsessed with the non existence?" God does exist, as a concept in people's minds, a delusion passed on over countless generations. Many take those imposed ideas they grew up with for real and simply are not able to see through it. Those people reinforce the delusion on each other, as if it were real.
SeltsamerAttraktor 1 year ago
@SeltsamerAttraktor Many unbelievers fail to see the evidence of God because they cannot see him. Most unbelievers would still not believe even if Jesus appeared to them. Turning our backs on Jesus and claiming he does not exist, does not make him go away, he is still reality weither you choose to beleive or not.
virtualguitarist 1 year ago
@virtualguitarist I never saw any hint of hard, testable evidence that could support the claim of any god's existence, in particular that Christian one. And, that has to be said, I'm a hardcore science nerd who absorbs every bit of information about this universe that he can get. "Knowing"/"feeling" that something like this does exist is not evidence. The same is true for visions, hallucinations and other kinds of weird experiences because both our senses and our mind are by far not reliable.
SeltsamerAttraktor 1 year ago
@SeltsamerAttraktor I can understand why you and many others see no evidence. If we can't see, hear, taste, smell, or touch something, its not there right? I used to think the same way when i was a young explorer.
virtualguitarist 1 year ago
@virtualguitarist Well, there are a lot of things that cannot be seen, heard, tasted, smelled or touched, but nonetheless they DO exist. But their existence is well supported by tons of measurements, indirect observations, theoretical connections, etc. All believers failed to deliver the smallest piece of evidence, yet they "know". Their god seems to be outside of this world, not connected to anything, left no trace, as if he only existed in people's minds.

coffee396 2 years ago
@coffee396 If you can prove in simple tests that ouija-boards work, the the *James Randi Foundation* will pay you one million dollars! They'll pay that for proving anything supernatural at all, every claim like that that science dismisses. Wouldn't one million dollars be nice? Hehe, it's a shame that ouija is just self-delusion, isn't it? (By the way, check out *James Randi Foundation's* YouTube-channel! They have hundreds of funny debunkings of "supernatural" claims there. : )
winterstellar 2 years ago
First off all, read the conditions for the James Randi money, it's not that easy. Also people that don't understand something and say "god did it" and people that don't understand something and say : "you're delusional" (like you) are the same people.

I wasn't participating and nobody could've seen me write those numbers.
coffee396 2 years ago

Peace.

Religion is man's way to reach other man's pockets and control their minds. There's no god involved anywhere.
rkyeun 2 years ago
Sometimes yes. I agree. But as we celebrate Christmas in my home this year, I'm reminded yet again of how beautiful the season really is, and how powerful Jesus Christ has moved in my life and family.
I'd say that God is involved everywhere in mine and I (usually) have no problem letting him have not only my mind, but my heart as well.
Peace on earth and goodwill toward man I say, and have yourself a very Merry Christmas.
121jigawatts 2 years ago
If it's involved everywhere, it's because you put it there. Christmas is a good example for this. Assuming Jesus was more than a fictional figure based on the Egyptian stories of Horus, the zodiac, and rebirth, and was instead an actual figure who was born, by Luke's account in the bible that date is August 22, 3BC. Way to usurp Mithra. Merry winter solstice to you too.
rkyeun 2 years ago
Admittedly I don't know much about Horus or Mithra. I don't feel I need to either. I can understand a skeptic not ready to accept the claims of Christ, transceding Himself to not only God-like status but God Himself, but to ignore the historical evidence for the man's earthly presence is absolutely astonishing. Archeoligical, physical artifact and liturgical evidences will be hard to shrug off, and much of which come from sources non-Christian.
This I cannot and will not understand, ever.
121jigawatts 2 years ago
I'm not denying there was ever such a man, but it's not a belief I can hold because I haven't had an extra-biblical case for it presented.
I do know that when Christianity invaded and conquered the Norse, they chopped down Odin's tree and stole the winter solstice holiday. The entire Christmas tradition is a plagiarism, much like the properties ascribed to Jesus were stolen from Horus of Egypt who predates Christianity by some three thousand years. They made the whole thing up to get followers.
rkyeun 2 years ago
I'm always amazed that cults even attract followers. I don't know how it happens, I'm certainly not that naieve. and would even doubt Christianity were it not for my experiences. Christmas is derived from 2 greek words. The symbol X, is the early Greek abbreviation for Christ. The Greek word "mas" is merely "festival". "Festival of Christ" would be another accurate name for Christmas.
I think the connections you are making between Christ and Horus are a considerable stretch.
121jigawatts 2 years ago
Please allow me. If you trust zeitgeist and the rantings of Gerald Massey over the time tested teachings of the Bible, than you indeed will be a hard case. This "new age" zeitgeist stuff will too fade, just like every other of the never ending antichrist claims. But the Bible is very old. much older than Massey's "poetry", if you can even call it that, and is bought and paid for by the blood of Christ and his followers.
Tell me, do you understand what is unique to Christ?
121jigawatts 2 years ago
Nope, don't trust zeitgeist. Never heard of Gerald Massey.

121jigawatts 2 years ago

rkyeun 2 years ago
The writings of Plato on the greek gods are far older than the bible. Does that not mean that the Greek Gods are more real than yours?
You are committing a logic fallacy - appeal to antiquity. The older it is, the more right it is. That is complete nonsense. By that logic, I can claim that the gods of Egypt are more correct than yours, simply because they are older.
AzmodanKijur 2 years ago
You have taken my comment out of context. I was merely making a point with rkyeun. Logical fallacies are committed by all people, of all faiths (or lack thereof), all the time. It's human nature.
You are committing one now. You are appealing to me that the gods of Egypt are false, with which I'd agree, implying that must mean Jesus is false, with which I'd disagree, meaning there is no god at all if all if YOU discount everyone of them.
In the end, my faith is diminished none.
121jigawatts 2 years ago
You have committed an error. My argument was not an appeal. In pointing out the fallacy in your logic via example, I have invalidated the argument. Thus it is up to you to repair the argument else abandon it as a means of support for your faith. nothing of what you said provides any cause, context or reason for the age of the bible to be considered to be more valid that the poetry of some nut. The point you made is non-existent and irrelevant as a result.
AzmodanKijur 2 years ago
Emmm....ok. Do you believe in God at all?
121jigawatts 2 years ago
Which one?
Mild humor aside, I am an atheist. I do not believe in any of those fairy tales, in the same way that I do not believe a child that tells me that the Boogyman is in their closet. There is no rational reason to accept any of those stories. No gods, no devils, no heavens, no hells. There is just a vast universe (with life who knows where) with a small blue planet that managed to grow an ape that realizes it's alive. Nothing besides that remains.
AzmodanKijur 2 years ago 3
Bold statement? Not at all. There has never been any proof in any form of anything supernatural existing. Ever. That is not a claim, that is simple fact. Testimony is not evidence, a book written by bronze age primitives is not evidence, knowing in your *heart* is not evidence. All are claims by men over a system they created. Religion is as man-made as my watch or my computer, only my computer and my watch actually work. We are completely mortal - we live, we die and nothing remains.
AzmodanKijur 2 years ago 2
How do I know that? Again, there is no evidence that it is different than that. We are our brains - there is nothing about us that is ethereal. Damage to the brain is damage to the personality of the person. That would not and could not be if we were "souls". No souls and no duality of mind/body. When it stops, you stop. Terrifying? Yep, but it is the simple truth of the matter. Deal with it and enjoy the time you have now because you are not getting an eternity afterward. :)
AzmodanKijur 2 years ago 2
Well, we will have to agree to disagree.
Merry Christmas! :)
121jigawatts 2 years ago
The same canard as always. "Ask Jebus to reveal himself to you and you will have all the proof you need." The most asinine of reasoning because it is not reason at all. There is no jesus to ask. When you asked, your own mind told you something to convince itself for it's own happiness. Nothing wrong with that, but it is not proof. It is, as I said before, a delusion.
AzmodanKijur 2 years ago
What do I fear? In regards to yours and everyone elses gods? Nothing. One does not fear the imaginary. Like the boogyman in the closet or the monster under your bed, the invisible sky wizard is nothing to fear. I give it no more thought that I give unicorns. Face the fact - there is nothing that proves that any of it is real. What's more - there is nothing that you can say that will convince another to share your delusion.
AzmodanKijur 2 years ago
Quote me some scripture from a 2,000 year old book written by primitive people - give me the other canard of "only a fool would deny god" or "the devil believes in you" or threaten me with eternal hell. Doesn't matter. None of it is real.
Happy Pagan Tree Day. :)

PS. I'll drink to that Tree Day. :D
