The secret to getting him fast is using the semi active air to air missiles, as long as you keep him in the radar circle, your missiles won't miss.

it took me about 4 tries before I downed pasternek. The time it took me was about a min. I hit him w/ my vulcan on our first merge, that broght him diwn to about 25% health then unloaded SAAM and missiles at him when I caught up to him again.

@FigureProductions1 best way to deal with Pasternak is to evade like hell until he starts trying to ESM. When he's providing ESM for his drones, not only does he become visible on radar, but he's also a lot less mobile, almost standing still compared to he does normally. When he does this, chase him down and unload with everything: machineguns, missiles, anti air SPs, allied attack, Shamrock...
