  • Comment removed

  • Dude....NICE. This is much appreciated.

  • rhythms*

  • XD my teacher was teaching me those chords and different rythems but not those...and i think he was trying to teach me this song. now that i think about it he did mention green day :3

  • thank you very much for this video, it's very useful!!

  • is it dduudu ?

  • Dr. house ? omg ...... this guy owns !

thumbs up if you are amazed how he randomly looks left and right while playing

  • i watch a lot of you guitar tutorials :)

  • you'Re playing incredibly good!

  • this is great. thanks. almost got the strummng sussed

  • I remember watching this a long time ago, thinking I`d never be able to play anything. But Im so much better and more comfortable with the guitar. For you guys that are begginers, dont give up. You`ll get the hang of it, I know its not easy at first but keep trying. This was my first song I learned on the guitar, and I still play it.

  • Holy shit, it's Dr. House!

  • YOU ARE TTHE KING!!!!!!!!!

  • mmmmkay

  • nice work!

  • awsome i really enjoyed that !!!!!!!

  • thank you I learned so fast with your lesson!! I hope you come up with new lessons!

  • i think this is the best time of your life vid on youtube

  • fuck man strumming is so hard to get the hang of

  • @khdude2000

Practice man, I thought it was hard hard at first too. Tried all sorts of different techniques. I just learned to keep a firm to lose grip on my pick (I use .73 Tortex Picks, So I can be a bit lose with them. Great control and grip)

You'll get it in no time. Also, if you find controling your pinky is hard, start working with it more, doing some excercises like 4-3-4-2-4-1 pinky being on the 4th fret. After a couple of days I found significant change.

    Keep rockin :)

  • @khdude2000

Make sure you're using a Pick that suits you :) If its an acoustic, I find a .38 is best for me.

  • somehow this man remind me of adam sandler

  • What guitar is that?

  • @Ebeet0FAN its a yamaha, think it might be a apx 700 ?

  • You make it look so easy! Thank you!

  • I was looking for sth like that :) You're great. Thanx. Could you make more videos with Green Day's music?

  • awesome! thanks! =]

  • actually there are 5 whole chords.

the one you said and a normal 'C' chord, played when Billie starts playing full chords instead of arpeggios.

  • ouh yes :D

In course of this video i learnd to play guitar...4 years ago :D

Now i can live from making music...

    This guy is Great!

  • thanks alot man u are a really good chording teacher...ur a hero in my heart ahah

  • mmmmkay

  • Thanks so much for the lesson....

  • What you can't see is just out the picture to the left, there is a squirrel with a flick knife!

  • hey can u do a guitar lesson on "My Paper Heart by The All American Rejects"?

  • David is legend.

  • Is your guitar in # tune or something?

It doesn't sounds the same when I play it.

    Please anwserr.

  • @kmylicious95 Green Day is out of tune in the actual song, and I think he's using the same tuning. I'm not sure how off it is though. Maybe 40 cents sharp?

  • i belive he is playin trougha amp

  • You're awesome. Thanks!

  • Dude theres more views on this, then there is on the music video!!! LOL. Great song tho

  • you rock man ! :D

  • i play it D,D,D,U,D,U,U,D,D,U,D,U and then do it all over again

  • can you like follow up with a nother vid, plz? I leanrd a lot here, but how do you actually do that complicated strumming like he does in the real version??

  • Your videos are fantastic! Thanks :-)

  • my bad i did it wrond i mean down,down,down,up,down,up,up,down,down,up, down,up

  • umm im takeing guitar lessons and i told my teacher how to play it and he herd the song and said the struming is down, down, down,up,down,up,up,down,up,down

  • Thank you that's helped..

  • @Wireless Hacker a C9 or Cadd9 chord is One finger on the A string, 3rd fret and another finger on the D string, 2nd fret and another finger on the B string, 3rd fret then lastly another finger on the High E string, 3rd fret. The order I use my fingers is 2(middle finger)-1(pointer finger)-3(ring finger)-4(pinky)

  • Great vid exactly how i learned it... Im trying to find the strum pattern after the second verse because when i listen to the recorded version it sounds to me like it changes from D/DU/UDU to something else but idk what that is... any help?

  • U ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111

  • if you are a begginer this video its sucks because you cant see the chorps .i made the same video for the same song and its much better for begginers

  • @haris22ful

Yeah so I went and watched your videos and they're a fucking embarrassment. I've been playing the guitar for all of 3 days now and I could make a better instructional video than you could buddy. It's 4 chords and you can't even get that straight...

  • @haris22ful , wow, you video is horrible. You dont talk, your 'showing' the chords is horrible and a pain to try to figure out. Here he tells you the chords and hopefully you have enough brains to know how to play the basic chords, and even if not, its not hard to find out. Your instructional video is just all guesswork and you dont even go far enough into the song in yours to play the e echord. I'd rather watch this guy.

  • dude. u rok. this vid roks. so EZ!!

  • Whoops my bad.. What am I thinking! haha its Cadd9 I mean.

  • @8DDDDDDDDDDD - because that is a G9 chord. You don't play a normal G major.

  • thank you! it was sooo much help!

  • why does it look like you're playing your 3rd finger on the 3rd fret 2nd string for G? isn't it supposed to be 3rd fret 1st string?

  • wow thats so helpful :)

  • son ur not g

  • Hey,

what Guitar do you use for this lesson?

  • Can you make a animals by nickelback video?

  • can you play flogging molly--"If i ever leave this world alive"!!!

  • great help thanks buddy!

  • Thanks for help with the tempo. I'll keep practicing!!

  • Thank u that REALLY helped!!! Rock on =)

  • are you going to do a second vid with the arpeggiating

  • @swboarder90 this is not the real profile...

  • Great Teacher!

  • dude thanks for the vid it helped alot

  • David is such a good teacher, but why did you copy his video?

  • i want to lerron to play the guitar. this is the 1st song i want to play

  • thank you~ =)

  • @b3nzSx thank you, i was looking to that chord too :D

  • thank you this is great help! (:

  • the recording also uses a C chord

  • this was the second song i learned a fwe months ago <3... thanks you so much... now i recorded me playing this song ^^ ... i posted it as a video response !

  • How to play the major C add 9 please?

    I can't find it :-(

  • from 6th to 1st note:

    x 3 2 0 3 3

sometimes it could be used as

    x 3 2 x 3 3

  • you just take the 2 finger you used on the G and move both down

  • @Greguyse

its just G major , but you put the first and second finger all down 1 string ;)

  • Cadd9 is just like the G major u only move ur index and middle finger one string down from where they would be during a G major chord. Move ur middle fnger from the 6th to the 5th string in the 3rd fret and the index finger from the 5th to the 4th finger also in the 3rd fret. Hope this helps :P

  • thanks that was so helpful, ive learnt my first song thanks 2 u!

  • wow, you r a fantastic teacher u explain it very good and in an easely understandable way very good job

  • Thank you. Subscription hah. you make it easier to start out, to actually be able to understand. xD THANK YOU. :D

  • thx

you helped me a lot :D

  • Hi, What guitar are you using - the sound is great. Looks like a yamaha APX 500?

  • your lessons is fuc*ing great!!!! YOURE MY GOD!! :)

  • du siehst aus wie dr. house xD sau cool^^

  • @Assassine88 I think he looks more like a combination of Ben Stiller and Hugh Laurie. So cool :)

  • your so helpfullll

  • Very good thanks ;)

  • im learning this song. Quiet a bit of help :D

  • Not everyone is awesome like you man. Some of us are just starting out. Dick!!

  • ah thanks guys..!

  • Comment removed

  • 1st, 3rd fret

  • thanks alot! i need to practise this damn often will i ever play it flawless like you :s

  • troppo bello ! è facile !

  • 3:02 Rock onnn! :D

    Thanks - great jobb

  • Really good job....It's a very good lesson for us beginners. Lessons like these keep me from getting frustrated with my "natural-lack-of-guitar playing ability" and make learning the guitar fun.

  • i am new to guitar this is the second song i am learning now is there a trick at all to stop my ring finger leaving the 2nd string when i go from c to d? i just cant seem to get that very frustrating!

  • much easier if u just use the g, d, c and e minor but its kwl

  • Nice work, I've watched several of your videos and I like the way you work and get things across. I take exception with your cadd9 in the Em run, it should be Em, D, C, G. The add9 is a nice change to hang onto the time but it just doesnt seem to work. Either way I give you an excellent rating and nice job. Enjoyed it.

  • this is relly good

  • very good

  • You should zoom in like your other videos. It be bter for peopels to see. But good video though

  • Another great lesson from you - thanks. I really appreciate you going over the strum pattern in all your lessons.

  • very cool

    thank you a lot :)

  • best instruction for this song by far

  • Thanks man, all of your vids are great:)

  • I really want to play this song, but I'm having a hard time switing between the G chord and the Cadd9 cord. Any suggestions for different fingerings?

  • You just move your index and middle fingers down a string

  • just like adam said. Thats a really easy transition. move your index and middle finger down one! good luck! its not as bad as an F to a C =)

  • Thanks to both of you. I had originally looked up the fingering to Cadd9 online and they gave me a really weird fingering, instead of the one that you all mentioned. :D

  • its good too if ye just play G C D Em

    hope dis helped!

  • thanks a lot, you rock.

  • thanks dude

  • This was the first song I used to learn strumming pattern, and that was like a year back. Now I able to pick up strummings easily and also pick by ear.

So I just wanted to thank you for this lesson and teaching me how to strum.

  • NICHOLAS CAGE :D

  • LOLOLOL!!!! i never made the connection. i see it now hahaha. i think it's his groovy backwards hat. my dad does things like this when he tries to be cool and fit in with me and my friends.

  • OMG thanks alot!

  • good lesson

  • aw i love this guy lmao

  • What kind of guitar is that?

    Sounds really good

  • That should be a Yamaha electric acoustic guitar

    probably apx series

  • hey thnx, this helped alot. this is a really easy song to play

  • is the cadd9, a c chord?

  • yeah its c chord but there a small mistake at this chords first you play G,cadd9,D.....and the same again but later you strum Em,D,C,G the cadd9 is wrong billie joe isn't playing cadd9 at this point but C (C major) thats right :)

  • i would love it if you could put a link to the tab in the info box =]

  • awesome. I got that immediately. 5/5 and sub

  • errr.. fav.

  • great lesson 5/5

  • thanks man

  • esa cancion esta la mondaa

  • wats cadd9?!:S

  • c add 9 is your pointer on the second fret 3rd string from the top/

middle finger on 3rd fret second string from the top/

ring finger on 3rd fret second string from the bottom/

and pinky on third fret very bottom string.

    HOPE THAT HELPED :)

  • tanks a million didnt tink any1 wud actualy reply lol. that helped alot:)

  • or you could just use your pointer and your middle on the second fret of 5 n 6 like it shows in the video

  • You're ab amazing teacher! Thankyou so much.. way better than that whole "expert village" thing! :D

  • 5/5 best training

  • tnx man but plz will you upload a video that contains the arpegio?????

  • nice

  • thx redsoxfan713 i didnt kno how 2 do the cadd9 :)

can some one give me the explanation of the chords?

  • google them :)

  • TNX BUT i dont understand what chords he said so can you write me the chords and i will google them?

  • G - 320033

    Cadd9 - x32033

    D - xx0232

    Em - 022000

they're pretty straightforward; hold them so your fingers are comfortable

  • omg thanks a million (=

  • Check out my acoustic cover of this :D With arpegiates and strumming :)

  • does it work on electric too?

  • yes. i'm playing it on acoustic and electric. the good part about electric is that you can add some effects if you have a processor.

  • good people
