  • Excellent explanation, much better then reading any manual. thanks!

  • Thanks for the helpful video! You taught me what dual rates are :P!!

  • AWESOME VIDEO, EXPLAINED IN A WAY NEW GUYS LIKE ME CAN UNDERSTAND!!

  • Agreed with all the others.. super-helpful video. Very informative for noobs like myself.

  • Awesome man. I just got into planes and bought a T-28 UM. I'm primarily a heli guy, so I'm so green with how to set up controls for planes. Appreciate the help!

  • Dude, I am SOOO happy I found your vid. This is the best explanation of D/R and Expo I've seen. I had a basic understanding of D/R (in that I knew you could set two rates) but this really helped fill in the gaps and furthered my understanding of when and why it would be used. This vid is top notch and REALLY helped!! Thanks a ton..

  • This video was really helpful. Now, I can start programming my own radio instead always having to have someone do it for me.

  • Thanks man! i had my DX6i for about 2 years now. but i hardly fly coz of the strong winds here in vegas plus i never played with the setting much. but now i know thanks anyways for the dual rates.ill check out the rest of your videos about this radio.

  • MANY thanks for this! I will be getting my DX6i soon and this will come in quite handy!

  • excellent video

  • Thanks for putting this stuff in layman's terms for those of us who are just learning to fly and master our tx's.

I really appreciate your effort and sincerity in helping all of us n00bs!

  • @KMac1972 You are welcome, and thanks for the nice comment! Also, I don't believe you are a n00b, you are an expert-in-training, like me :)

  • @KMac1972 you're not a n00b. you're a king ... the King of all Kings!

  • That was a huge help - thanks; the Spektrum manual is crap on this!

  • @waswhatwer Thank you very much! Good flying to you!

  • That really helped

    Thx a lot buddy

    Greetings from Belgium

    Erik

  • @RikkieRc Greetings back to you from USA, Erik! It's nice to meet you and I am very glad to know my video helped. Thanks for your post, and happy flying!

  • @pheralcat Nice meeting you too man. I'm setting up my dual rates right now.

    It helps a looooot. :-)

Greetings and i'l talk to you later

    Erik

  • Nice video this is what I needed! I had a guy at the field explain this and I was way confused. Now its simple!

  • @devno9904 Thanks. Yea, I like things simple too. It's already hard, why make things harder, right? LOL! Glad the video helped. Happy flying!

  • Thank you very much

    real nice work

  • veryyy good :D

  • Great video. So much to learn with this hobby. Keep up the vids.

  • @krtex56 Thank you very much!

  • Damm dude, you are good thanks, that helped me a lot, i just got me a p-51d with a dx6i, and i was wondering how to do that, tnx.

  • @antoniovski You are welcome! I know you must be enjoying the P-61 wth DX6i as much as I do. My buddy is a career Learjet/Cessna Citation pilot with Netjets, and he likes it so much he is getting one soon too :)

  • sweeet..i love you man!!!! ive been stuck on this since i got my dx6i...awwww man thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @badgolf1 - You are very welcome. Once I figured this out, I had to share it with the world :D

  • @pheralcat hahaha..thanks again

  • This is the best video on the topic!

I am thinking that I am going to set mine at 50% though. On my ParkZone Corsair, when I changed the aileron's control horns to the innermost position, it was so sensitive I couldn't land it... I changed it to low rate, but it wasn't low enough. I think a 50% reduction to start, but I'll be testing it to come up with the perfect rate for the plane.

  • @CarlosMerighe Thank you Carlos. Glad I could help. When you get your reductions where you want them, post back and tell us what you came up with.

  • thanks

  • @DoNotuseEbid ...UW :)

  • Thanks man, great vid!

  • @jesknow You are kind to say so, thank you - glad it helped!

  • Go too the DR/Combi and you can program your Fmode switch too turn ON/OFF all 3 at Once...:0)

Good run down on the how too Though

  • @eastcoast78 Excellent tip! I appreciate you pointing this out. I may try to incorporate this into the video! My buddy Startazz mentioned this once too. Thing is, once you get a little stick time and get proficient, you really don't need dual rates (on an airplane) nearly as much. At least that has been so in my case. Would you agree? TTYL!

  • i like how you did this session. i understand dual rates now. can you do differential thrusts? or can the spektrum dx 6i do differential thrusts?

  • @boywaimea Hi! so glad I helped you a little. Dual rate the throttle, hmm - never tried with an airplane as you would usually want full power available to you. However on HELI mode, you can set the IDLE up to give more RPM sooner, but you still can not exceed 100 % - just perhaps get max power sooner liek the 3D guys prefer. Not sure how you would translate that over to airplane mode though... If you ever figure it out, please post back!

  • Great explanation. Now I realize what those doggone switches are for. Between you and IEATSRT I am more informed on this DX6i device.

  • great vid. im a newbie to air and the tutorial on programing was reall helpfull

  • Awesome video. I have got a new plane but it only uses 2 servos to control the ailorines and the elevator. One servo on one side the other servo on the other. I got it working apart from the ailorines come up the wrong ways. Any help?

  • Hmm, I don't have any planes that need mixing like yours so I don't feel qualified to say.

It sounds like you need to leave dual-rates out of the picture until you are sure everything works properly stock. Once that is working as it was out of the box, then introduce Dual-Rates. However you may not even need Dual-rates, so don't sweat it if this doesn't work for you. Enjoy your flight!

  • nice vid, i was watchin other vidsand they were talking about D/R and i was like WUUUUT????? then this vid was great and summed it up

  • Hey got it working now anyway :) it wasnt actually anythink to do with the dual rates but the elevon mixing as im new to this. All my other models worked out the box! Thanks mate :)

  • Great video man...

    very informative.

  • Very informative! Thanks for taking the time to make this video!

  • You are welcome, thank you for commenting!

  • Great video my friend but when i use my D/R i use the D/R combi switch assignment, that way you only have to use one switch rather than say using two or three, and you can pick what switch you want to control the D/R on,i think it's page 45 or 46 in the DX6I manual Ken and i think it's a lot easyer that way mate but we all use are TX's different i suppose ;-) but great info for the new pilot=5*

  • Yep, still a great vid. 5*
