  • whats the best camera around $2000

  • does this adapter increase the quality at all? of is this just straight normal camera quality

  • PLEASE HELP!!!

I am a 18 year old, serious about film and going to college soon for film school, i want a HD professional camera for under $2,000, what would you suggest?

Im thinking about the NEX-VG10, any other ideas?

  • @PIOxYy

I would suggest the HXR-MC50U, great quality small enough to be portable, but big enough to be taken seriously by a client.

  • @PIOxYy The xa10: good low light, manuals controls, xlr inputs, 64gb internal memory, avchd. around 2k. The hfg10: about the same as the xa10, but without the xlr inputs, only 32gb internal memory, around 1.5k.

Go see on bhphotovideo . com

  • I have a question if someone can please answer. Why is this video in such high quality? I'm considering buying this camera but in other videos I have watched with this camera the quality is crap. I understand you have a special kind of lens or something like that? How much will all this cost and was this footage modified or are these the results I would getting if I purchase this item?

  • @accomplishedjoe94 Dont buy this camera. The video is good because the cam is doing well in good light situation + deep of field of the SGBlade 35 mm KIT. I have also played a little bit with the color but not too much AND i never ever record with automatic settings WB, shutter speed, aperture.

However the quality of this camera is not crap if you take into consideration the price and functionality. Of course with a higher budget, buy a PMW-EX1r, HDR-XN5 or HDR-FX1000.

  • @teflux I agree

  • The Hdr Fx7 looks awesome in good outside daylight, as you can see above. But it's horrible in low light situations. Plus there's a serious lack of audio control on this camera, no XLR's and you can't isolate channels.

  • @JPULVideo I agree

  • what export settings did you use for this?

  • This is very inspiring. Thank you.

  • What do you think about this camera...is good? i go to bay??

    THANKS A LOT

  • can u have a fish eye lense on this camera>

  • @lolvids2 Yes, you can plug any kind of 35 mm lenses using the DOF adapter SG Pro

  • @SteezzyLeezzy I'm using a DOF 35mm adapter

  • you look like a CIA ghost or something

  • Wow this looks fantastic! I have an FX7 and I'm dying to be able to get shots that look as good as these do. Did you do any post production stuff to get this look? Any tips for a beginner on how to achieve this?

  • looks more like the mark II from canon xD

  • @ANTHONY25012010 YES about the DOF ;) But without the rolling shutter problem ;)

  • What's the thing in the upper left corner at 0:37 ??

  • This is the rotorazor. This is a disc used to reflect the image from the 35mm lens. It was just not correctly configurated.

  • What file size was this video? how large is 10 seconds of footage?

  • Format: Apple ProRes 422 (HQ), 1440 x 1080 (1888 x 1062), Millions

    IPS: 23,98

  • I'm picking up a DVX100B soon, any 35mm adapters you know of that won't cost me a leg?

  • Good cam ;) I dont know if you can flip the image recorded on the cam directly. In this case you can buy the DOF adapter witthout the flip module. About 1500 $ and you can find chiper old NIKON lens. Google SGPRO or REDRock micro

  • Thanks, that was quick haha. I'll look into that. One more question, I was actually stuck between the DVX100b and the HDR-FX7. I was leaning towards the DVX because of it's 3CCD chipset, and it's pro features. The FX7 is still in the back of my mind because of it's obvious HD quality. I will be making the occasional indie film/short film, but will also be filming events. Can I get a good film look out of this? Also, does the CMOS look any worse than the 3CCD?

  • 3CMOS or 3CCD is not a big deal. The size of the captor is a bid deal !! For 1/2 it will be more expensive and i will not speak bout 2/3 captors :(

For pro features. You're wright. But at the end, i'm not recording audio when using the cam for a short movie so i dont care about XLR. And I use a follow focus with the 35mm kit, I have also all the information about aperture of focus on the SLR lens directly,

  • by using prime lens I have also a good idea of how would be the frame with a 24mm, 50mm, 100mm...

BUT, there is a but, for filming events you need to go fast, you cannot have a take2, so 35mm KIT sucks in this case or you need an assistant for the focus pulling and a good one :)

  • which camera do you think is better? a fx7 or a fx1?

  • The FX1, better sensitivity and 1/3 captor, but for the price I will preffer the FX1000 ;) to have 24p

  • wow, this really looks impressive. i do have to ask though, are you able to get this great quality with out the the SGPRO 35mm kit with a CANON EOS 28mm 1.8 lens? I have been searching for videos with this camera and looks like most others are just using the basic package. it is a decent quality, but no where near to what you have posted. not too sure if its because there were no bells and whistles used or the other people were just new to the settings & not using it to its full potential.

  • Hey thank you. I have another video online, recorded without the 35mm kit seach teflux. I used outdoor white balance.

The ROTORAZOR and the lens (aperture, deep of field) improve a lot the overall quality.

The ROTOrazor Imaging Element is designed for use with the SGblade 35mm Image Converter. This element is made of glass and has been designed with low lightloss and a very fine grain structure allowing the 35mm lens to be stopped down without grain appearing in the image!

  • nice car and nice camera how much is that 25mm kit?

  • Thanx, 35mm kit or also called DOF adapter. About 1500 euro (2000 USD) for a redrock or sgpro.

  • BTW, car is a porshe boxter 987 Boxter S. 0 to 100 in 5.4 s waouw waouw dude ;)

  • How much is the lense/sgpro kit?

    Thats amazing quality!!

  • About 2000 USD without the lenses. In this case you need prime lens to loose the less light as possible.

  • maaaaaddd good quality man, im planning on getting this, do you have any info that i should know of? i know the price already of the HDR-FX7 but anything else bout it would help

  • search for redrock, sgpro, brevis or letus on the web ;)

  • Do not hesitate to ask me any question ;) always a pleasure to share technical knowledge and experiences !
