Hey! Ithe 8800gt is capable of higher resolutions - i play it on Full HD 1900x1080 High Quality with Vsync forced within Nvidia Control Panel. My spec: Amd Opteron 2.3ghz OC'd, 2GB DDR.
I bought this game yesterday.. I have almost the same pc like you. i have Amd Athlon X2 4400 2 GB RAM DDR 400 8800GT windows xp sp3. I play it on max graphics 1280x1024 with vsync on and runs perfect!!
I had same CPU as you :P , Still using the 8800gt , the 4200+ its k. :) It may be able to play this on low-medium. Now I have a new system HUGEE increase. 0 lag now on any games. :D
Well, games always look the best if you put it on the same resolution as your screen (it's more demanding on your comp, though). So if you have a 1680x1050, use that resolution! It'll look a hell lot nicer.
the reason why he's getting only 38fps is because the V-Sync is activated, i got 38 to 40 V-Sync on but when i disable it i get 120 and above, even sometimes it reaches 195 fps, I'm using an 880GT as well.
