According to Michael Symon himself, he was only a temporary replacement, and that Irvine was never fired, but asked to take a leave of absence. Guess FN realized that they had a good thing going, and that this wasn't some game show which had a prize at the end of the day. It's an entertainment show, and the veractiy of the host is secondary to his ability to provide great Tv entertainment, which he does in spades. The shows since Robert's return have been the best things on the FN.
So he padded his resume. He's an awesome host and, most importantly, HE PROVED HIMSELF IN THE KITCHEN! Everyone lies. Not saying that's not a bad thing (it is), but everyone deserves a second chance if they can prove themselves.

Yeah, everyone lies you are right, but they are levels to lie, he is the master, the pro, the god of lying. Can you imagine? Saying he cooked for the queen? And served in the White House? HAving a University Degree in Cooking? Also elaborating a delicate and fine cake for Lady Di? Come on dude!! Also shame on foodnetwork, every resume is subject to verification so WTF? He always seemed to me like an asshole, yealling at ppl in live shows, making them feel like crap.
Everyone deserves a second chance? Yes!! You are right, but before the true comes up of course, he let himself sink in glory with degress and stories he never achieved much less dream of.
There is NEVER a second chance for a first impression.
The beauty lies in the eye of the beholder, from what angle are you looking at it?
ummm he did more than just pad his resume. he scammed multiple people out of hundreds of thousands of dollars, he made elaborate promises he couln't keep... on top og that he comes across as a delusional egocentric narcissist.
Oh well, I didn't know about it, but you know different angles to see different situations, that network I assume and strongly believe would have their own judgement on how and why to start a new season with him. But to me, nothing changes, he is the same person.
best show on food network way to go robert

Dude they hired him back because the show was going in the toilet without him. DO you have any stinking idea how many people pad thier resume's?

Do you have any stinking idea how easy is to review one and check it? Foodnetwork's fault as well.
