  • Just a Wonderful Band, especially in the Early Years!

  • didn't see Calvert much, without would have been NO hawkwind

  • The true nature of reality is a paradox. Wonderful music.

  • I will love Hawkwind till the day i die ( + beyond .....

    ALWAYS AND FOREVER HAWKWIND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • love hawkwind,nothin like it

  • Heh, at the 1:25 mark Dave Brock is wearing a Blue Öyster Cult T-Shirt. Appropriate.

  • Download the audio from this video at speedyconversion doht cohm.

  • lol 0:35 ... the third guy from above is fucking lemmy ! :))

  • @doom696mented He was in Hawkwind before Motorhead you know...,,

  • Thanks Floydyboy69 for the great pictures Been a fan since 72?

Shit how time flies!! As RodrogerAu says, if they were as accessible then as they are now. They would have been HUGE!!

So much ahead of their time!! But then that is the nature of Space Rock. :(

  • Followed this band since their first Album, I am now going on 54 years of age, and countless Albums later ........they are still the Best..........What a journey........:Thanks Hawkwind for the Fantastic Ride.................)

  • @RodrogerAu

I've followed them since the start also, I'm 55, if only they were as accessible in the old days as they are now !

I like Nick Turners band Space Ritual because they play the older stuff. I never liked the period with Arthur Brown in the Hawkwind though.

  • band that cared about music not money, memories flooding back top top band

  • out here on alpha centauri we still spin the hawkwind Lp.s

  • Great pictures ! A thoroughly favourite album and I forget the heights of the past unti l certain reminders

  • A fantastic album: for me, it was their very best, most complete and inspired work. I really love it. Noone brings back this famous unique decade of rock music: but we were lucky enough to be a part of it ...

  • So who is Hawkwind ...? Is it one of these pics ..? is it fuck ! It's a spirit not a trademark !!!!!!!

  • @alshell123

    Nice sentiments alshell

But all the people in the pictures have been members of Hawkwind and have contributed to that spirit

hawkwind is a state of mind

  • So many years ago it feels like it never was. As my life changed and I moved on the sounds and memories of summers listening to Hawlwind have not left me. memories of people and places no longer visible to any one but me.

  • Definitely one of the best Hawkwind Tracks of all time. Many versions since but the original is stll the best. Great photos and a real history of the band that has produced some of the best and most underated performers of our time.

  • this is a realy great hawkwind track

    checkout dave brocks solo stuff

    checkout spacebandits too

    spacebandits myspace

  • Great comments, never forget all the good times, they are as real as now, time is not really linear.

  • great song...thanks for uploading

  • This song has moved me in ways I can't explain ever since I first heard it over 30 years ago, amazing song and some excellent pics, thanks floydyboy.

  • Brings forth tears of joy and sadness...

memories of a better, simpler time

    and a lost innocence.

God I wish I could go back!

  • Fantastic video to a truly brilliant song.I went to see them in 1973 and was completely blown away by this space rock. Some good memories come back watching this.I was 15 then and 50 now and still love Hawkwind. If anyone fancies a bit of later Hawkwind try and watch the Moonglum video posted on youtube and Elric The Enchanter in that order.Dave Brock for PM.

  • couldnt agree more even down to the age thing why the fuck am i fifty??? what went and when

  • I heard this album about 35 years ago and haven't returned to this planet since. Fortunately, the delta quadrant picks up youtube.

  • I can´t stop listening to this song! Simply perfect!

  • from my first hawkwind album and favourite of all time and always will be. gerald/headwind.

  • yeah hmmmm like it

  • Lovely....

  • Reminds me of being a kid lost in the space rock daze! :)

  • Reminds me of driving to north Devon to go surfing from south Devon. One such day in 81. After a surf i saw a sign that said festival I followed the signs to a place called Snapper. I went parked the car next to a large white estate and ther was captain Brock sat inside. Casually i walked up and said what time you on. They played old stuff. Magnu, Assault and Battery etc etc. Oh Mother gong played to.

  • One of the most beautifully powerful rock songs of all time. When you hear the beginning guitar riff, you know you're in for a hell of a song. And the last few minutes where they just totally rock out is pure musical bliss. Such frantic and powerful drumming and an incredible guitar solo. Such a beautiful melody.

  • I met them..I was there,,Front row..Kissed Stacia the best days of my life.

    Psychedelic Eric.

    Lost Boy.......

  • My Favorite Hawkwind song as it just drifts you off to space--Great photos also

  • Hawkeye 54 .`always yours.

  • I agree with many of the comments here. Paradox should've been more famous!

    Brilliant song!

    LONG LIVE THE FECKIN' HAWKS!

  • In answer to your questions;

Between Stacia and Lemmy is Alan Powell (drums) Hawkwind had two drummers (on & off) during the 74-76 period the other being Simon King whom Powell replaced originally and then King returned to the fold.

Between Lemmy and Brock is Simon House (Violin/Keyboards) 74-79 + during the late 80's and early 90's he played with Hawkwind at various times.

  • I've seen this video at least a hundred times... It always makes me feel better... :D

  • I know what you mean.

It's like, one of those... refreshing songs, and the accompanying video is just like, perfecting it.

  • ABsoLUTELY ONE of THE BEST of ALL TIME.

  • Great song. I wonder why it didn't get more famous.

  • Who is that woman?

  • stacia, the band´s official dancer

  • it makes me sad that while we were tripping on love, others were sewing seeds of destruction the fruit that is now coming to reap upon us all

  • hippy

  • Good Video. A song needn't be famous to be good.

  • great tune. makes me wanna track down my mates from 20 years ago and drink mushy tea all over again.

  • this song was recorded live at edmonton sundown 23/01/74, I was 16 years old and had just won a hawkwind competition, the prize was to go on the full european tour with them,it was called the ridiculas roadshow, and another part of the rize was to sing backing vocals on stage with the band, this is the song i,m singing backing vocals to, just my little claim to fame.. enjoy..EDDY.
