Bravo! Bravo!.. Without a doubt, one of the greatest baseball movies ever... I loved it as a kid and now at 50, still love it.. Thanks for sharing this with us.
@jrjr8619 Steven is a rare case, only about 10% of those afflicted live more than ten years. Generally 70% live only 3 years after onset, and 20% 5 years. And don't forget the level of medical tech back then.
Thanks so much for posting this video. I saw it for the first time a few years back, and now I've seen it for the second time; once again I got choked up.
Thanks for sharing. I've always wanted to see this picture and what a movie it is! One of the best film biographies. I didn't notice that 2 hours have passed and I wanted more. Cooper and Wright are perfect in their respective roles.
I've seen this movie many times and each viewing brings out much emotion.
A couple of pieces of trivia-
1. Gary Cooper was a fine choice in terms of personality but the real Gehrig was slightly shorter and much more muscular. Cooper was a righty who was not comfortable swinging like a lefty so they let him bat righty and then reversed the film!
2. In thosey days, the players wore uniform numbers that matched their position in the batting lineup- Ruth wore 3 and Gehrig wore 4.
thankyou for postinf this ...they don't make ballplayers like this anymore and movies like this anymore....These were real ballplayers in every sense of word
I feel like such a pussy after I watch this movie
