I disagree with your assessment in using that quote against the EU. Think of a democracy as a sort of 'social contract system' (After Thomas Hobbes' Leviathan), the people give up some of their autonomy to their government in allowing them to run the country on their behalf. In a democracy, the government is chosen by free elections which act as this declaration. Where the EU is falty, is that you cannot vote out the people running the show!

Where do you get this idea that a coloured leader or higher majority of black people in any industry or service is indicative of equality?
