There's something strange about the closing to the earliest (1968-1970) episodes. Usually when the show ends, Johnny Costa would lead the house band in an upbeat almost nightclub-style jazz piano/drum/percussion/bass fiddle (or in the 1975 episodes, a rock bass) improvisation of either "Tomorrow", "Good Feeling", any of the opera songs or, only in #1658, "I Like Someone, Do You Know Who?" and usually the celesta's not heard until near the end.
Wowie lol...I remember that ending song vividly...thats why I tended to favor his old brown neighborhood setting :) there needs to be more kids' shows like this; kids TV today has lost all innocence for sure.
This ending was from the only season NOT to be filmed in color; the first one. 100 episodes in total were made for the original first season (1968-69). And the reason why the ending song was changed to "Such a Good Feeling" was because "Tomorrow" was still partially copyrighted to an earlier show that he worked on called "The Children's Corner"; though a lyric was changed to avoid total infringement. (continued in next comment)
@Usagi1992 Yeah according to a "Mister Rogers" record album I've had for years Josie Carey, Mister Rogers co-host on "The Children's Corner wrote "Tomorrow". However before they made "Good Feeling" the end song, they used another song called "I'll Be Back".
I guess they changed from the Tomorrow song to Good Feeling because the Tomorrow song started to sound old and out-dated since it was played in the key of D each ending. Most old classic songs are in key of D.
@Sodahpop96 The first national season was in black and white. But starting with the second season, it was taped in color and even when they did reruns, they tended to stick with the color shows since color TVs became commonplace in the 1970s.
by the time I was born they were out moding the black and white episodes though on slim occasions one did air. I don't see it on anymore, and you are very lucky if it was a 70's episode if it does come on since the ones from 1986 are pretty dominant.
Thanks for posting this! Somewhere along the line, Mr. Rogers discontinued using this catchy song as his closing number and started using the "It's Such a Good Feeling" song. I always loved the "Tomorrow" song and couldn't find it anywhere on YouTube until now. Thanks again!!
@dave11061 I always liked this song better too. I loved the other one, but felt this was more fitting for a closing song, as his other one was more along the lines of "It's you I like" or "You are special" to use during the show.

Can we please see some colorized endings with this song? Growing up, I hardly saw the early eps cuz they were rarely aired :)

The lyric change occurred in the middle part. It originally went "I know tomorrow will be haaaaapy/ And so, tomorrow, make it snaaaapy!"
Just thought I'd let you wonderful folks know this little tidbit of information. :)

Anyone know where I could find the audio alone for this if I were to put in on a cd? I've searched and had no luck up until now.
