I miss the time Before the word Glam/Hair Metal it was just metal one show would have GnR Metallica Winger Dokken Scorpions Skid Row Bon Jovi Whitesnake and Judas Priest. And it wasnt the Heavy glam thrash show it was THE METAL CONCERT! I think most of this segregation crap came from Metallica's self righteous Crap. all they ever said was how much they hated the rest of metal and how much better they were and how great they were compared to the rest. and everything is false metal but them.
I agree with you on gnr but theyre plently of amazing hair bands. like firehouse, cinderella, Van Halen was one in the mid-eighties. and Btw, its Motley Crue. and Skid Row..

I wish I lived back in the 80s too because we just called it metal and didn't have all these extra BS terminology thrown on it. We listened to what we liked.
The one thing I CAN say about the modern christian rock bands is that they had the balls to be original and not be some holier than thou imitation copy of some other "worldly" band. And this is all I'm going to say on the subject.
I find this ironic. Christian "grunge" didn't hit until after '92 when Nirvana and the grunge scene hit from California. Then, when we began to see the shorter hair, gotees, and more styled hair in Christian music, we can again chalk it up to the change first in secular music. How about "take five" or "jump five" in Christian music of course it was after Back street boys, and the other little boy bands. It appears, unfortunately, that Christian music has followed secular music genres/styles.
But yes I agree with you Christian Metal was supposed to give all those christians who were listening to secular metal something to listen to and actually admit in public since secular metal was often hit with the satanic stamp from so many christian groups.
Sorry 'bout the Seattle, I knew that, I just faux pas'd. I do like the music from the
80's, just not 99% of the lyrics. I just would rather that as Christians we would be those who are leaders, rather than followers many times. Thanks for your reply.
Actually, I posted it once, and it appeared twice. I've seen several other double responses on other videos, especially lately; not sure why. I'm not on drugs, either, butthead.
"Christian metal bands" were like cheap jean knock-offs of other bands and no originality at all and pushing religion like the carnival televangelists are still doing today. Especially with album and song titles like "to hell with the devil" which was even more cheesey and inane. The one thing I can say the REAL spiuritually intelligent bands like POD and others is that they're not pushing the fairy tale superstitious fear based garbage.
In any case, any self-respecting "80's Tribute Video" would have to include a shot or two of Stryper, being that they were one of the most prominent bands at the time, along with their similarly cheesy counterparts. I believe their time in the spotlight was a tad longer than POD's. As far as being "fear-based", I always found Stryper's music to be "welcoming and friendly", but, people don't always know how to deal with that sort of thing. That's it from me.

ok, its a great vid but seriously, what is with the random girls dancing, it has nothing to do with hair bands/glam metal (looks like it is more recent)
This is your best of these videos, man! It perfectly captures the spirit of the era. The imagery, the swagger, the pyro, the women, hittin' the highway, set to kick-ass rock-n-roll music...Great job!

its going to come back...time repeats itself, rap is complete shit and its dying, alot of bands are doing 70's rock kind of stuff like wolfmother. British bands are starting to come to america as well just like the NWOBHM in the late 70s early 80's....then after that, hopefully a whole nother golden age of metal! well i wish it was like that..
nrj2002 tnx a lot from italy for this spectacular video.....i'm 31 and i will never forget this music, this band and all the feelings i prove also today when see this images!!!
thanks for the loads of comments. This is something i enjoy (stress reliever) and hey..it's always nice to remember the good times. Doesn't matter if you were a teen during this time or born at the end of it...real rockers are always welcomed into the fold. Rock on people! See the new one if you got time ya'll!
i wish i grew up in those times the 80's was the greatest music era of all time unfortunatly i wasnt born till '89 but hey least im still a piece of the 80's. its sad cuz most of today's metal is crap
Senior Vice President/General Manager Caroline Music Group/EMI adds:
"Sebastian Bach has recorded a fantastic new album and Caroline Music is thrilled to be working with Merovingian on its release. Sebastian is the real deal and "Angel Down" will be the rock comeback story of the year."
I have to tell you....I love that people still remember the impact that the 80s metal bands had on music....I grew up in the 80s and remember seeing most of these guys in concert...What a great time it was to be alive...long live the real rock.....
i want 80s metal back!! i play guitar and i want to get in a band that wants to play 80s metal style music. IM GOING TO GET RID OF PUNK AND RAP AND IM GONNA MAKE 80S METAL POPULAR AGAIN!!!! if i cant do it in america then im gonna move to europe and do it.
Punk is already dead-look for ex. MCR who started playing a more hair and heavy rock music,Rap is in the top of fashion and its musicians have a lot of time to stay in this top-like rockstar bans in the beginning of 80s and late 70s,so wait for 10 years and next is alternative, after alternative prog.metal and classic rock and next is hair metal.HISTORY IS REPEATED and by then you will be 50-55.
fuck yeah man. born in 89 too, im always trying to make my friends listen to 80s metal. But there into the new shit . My uncles got me into 80 metal and im happy they did. man i wish i was a teen during that time...
fuck yeah , same here man . i met firehouse the band singing the song in this video . saw poison , ratt , dokken , and great white first row this summer it was awesome , and it would of definatley been fuckin sweet to be a teenager back then . and whats with all the worthless fuckers these days into that new gay rock
This is an EXCELLENT piece of work!! The song's story as told from many different angles.... Fantastic job! great memories from this one! You have a talent nrj2002! perfect timing with the video and audio. This video took awhile to put together. Thank You!
awesome...just awesome...child of the 80's!!! I think I have seen every band in this video in concert. Met Cinderella and Poison and knew firehouse guys!
Metal in the mainstream died out when the record execs realized you could more easily sell untalented young artists for huge profits if you force it on every radio station and MTV simultaneously.
But in early 90s many youngsters were bored of the cliche of the hair metal bands(I was 3 years then) and bands like Nirvana took advantage of this and peoples weariness to hear the same and same-You must admitt the change was and still is necessary for a bigger future comeback.
That is BS. MTV and radio just stopped playing it and what the youngsters got was what they saw and heard. None of them phoned in and said hey stop playing that. MTV when from an actual music outlet to a regular cable channel with less video and metal overall suffered because of that.
Someone thought Rap would be the new metal of the 90s so they flooded white suburbia with it. Grunge lost out to that as well not to mention the boy bands of the 90s.
Cool video pic with metal bands of the 80's.did not know this song was by fire house though!Man I miss the 80's,I'am only 22 but i still remember hearing these bands on the radio.I wish mtv was still the way it was in the 80's and not have on these lame as reality t.v.shows .I want to see more!todays'rap and rock sucks bring back the 80's mtv!80's forever! grunge would not became popular if it was not for people like kurtcrobain taking about his feelings!
Im far from gay but this music gives me the biggest rock hard erection

i want 80s metal back!! i play guitar and i want to get in a band that wants to play 80s metal style music. IM GOING TO GET RID OF PUNK AND RAP AND IM GONNA MAKE 80S METAL POPULAR AGAIN!!!! if i cant do it in america then im gonna move to europe and do it.
moremetal4U 4 years ago
Punk is already dead-look for ex. MCR who started playing a more hair and heavy rock music,Rap is in the top of fashion and its musicians have a lot of time to stay in this top-like rockstar bans in the beginning of 80s and late 70s,so wait for 10 years and next is alternative, after alternative prog.metal and classic rock and next is hair metal.HISTORY IS REPEATED and by then you will be 50-55.

Metal in the mainstream died out when the record execs realized you could more easily sell untalented young artists for huge profits if you force it on every radio station and MTV simultaneously.
TheElectricHeat 4 years ago
But in early 90s many youngsters were bored of the cliche of the hair metal bands(I was 3 years then) and bands like Nirvana took advantage of this and peoples weariness to hear the same and same-You must admitt the change was and still is necessary for a bigger future comeback.
IHHBD 4 years ago
DevinMacGregor 3 years ago
I wouldnt consider GNR a glam band...i did enhoy seeing Poison and Cinderella though. Great vid!
