Sorry, I like Bobby Vee but this cover of the song really isn't that great at all. Even Tab Hunter, who wasn't really a singer did a better job with it.
OK this vid keeps appearing as suggested on every BOYS NOIZE vid I saw (psych trance house music, sometimes no vocals - one with the words PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE over & over (which is actually very cool) I know Bobby Vee (almost 50 myself) but cannot for any reason understand why he's recommended or why I see 5 different weird trance videos suggested for THIS video? (;O yeah I'm confused. Not many ppl R like ME & listen to BOTH!! EXPLAIN !! do I have dementia or early alzheimers?
@jpcolts The original version was by Ric Cartey, but it didn't chart. The next version was by Sonny James followed by the one by Tab Hunter followed by the one by the Crew-Cuts. Those three all made the charts. Almost every new song competed with several other versions in the '20's, '30's, '40's and '50's.
@danrtopp .. yikes. i think Sonny James version is the Worst of the 6 i have heard! The best was done by the guy who WROTE the song. His name was Rick Cartey. He wrote and recorded the song, and then the corrupt music company GAVE the song to Sonny. They stole the song. Rick Cartey sang it with true love and emotion, actually. The song/45 that rick cartey made wasnt pushed. So, did not become popular. The only person, besides rick, who really did a GREAT adaption was Tab Hunter.
@havisham3 i gotta agree with you on this but i really like take good care of my baby.i guess it kind of goes with some young memories and thats what tunes are all about.

On the reverse of our version of Sonny James' "Young Love" was "The cat came back" which at least was a mad song.....

@danrtopp It's very plain to see that your so desperate for attention. Just what the world needs, another amature music critic, LOL!

@danrtopp I honestly believe no one on the net would be interested in adding you to anything. Now, let's get back into enjoying this great tune!
