  • Does anyone who lived in Darwin remember the song that was played when the station closed at night?.

  • Lost so many good shows when the wankers down south decided to ditch channel 8. Had to wait years for 10 to come back before half decent shows came back on, either that or pay for Austar.

  • @TomTelevision actually at 0:09 it says eight. I can clearly see channel eig - which indicates eight not nine

  • The intro music sounds way too tribal to be used in any of the southern states.

  • The Music during the line up sounds calming. I wonder if Channel 9 in Sydney, Melbourne or Queensland used it?

  • No, only in Darwin was this music used.

  • It says "channel eight" from 0:09-0:10....

  • Yes, combined programming up until Jan 1, 2003 when the station was renamed Channel Nine. It also had some Seven programming pre-1998 until Seven Darwin was formed in '98. Reemeber this has been PBL owned since the late 80's, hence the Nine feel to it ever since.

  • And so it happens....the last surviving independent TV station in Australia is starting to merge with 9-Imparja. Funny seeing the 9 dots in the promo, but the old NTD-8 at the end.... Complete with National NINE News,, instead of Eight National News.... NTD-8....we miss you.

  • yeh so wud i but in fact thats sydney broadcasting and if u watch the whole news they have an insert news from darwin
