  • Yes indeed. Thank you for your posting.

  • sicilian =greeks, greeks=sicilian, sicilian=greeks! ...history does not lie!!!

  • Yes, and a lot more invading countries ... the Greeks were among the first.

  • @Aldimarvp wrong! greeks never invaded south italy ,or sicily ,.....they actually colonized the area peacefully ,introducing greek civilization, big thanks to the greek city states in south italy and sicily.....that later Rome discover arts, science,e.t.c. and became an empire.....which they romanize italy. to me south italians are romanized brother greeks!..

  • Thanks for the correction. I should have done my homework a little better. Perhaps this is why we like Sicily and southern Italy best of all.

  • @halandreos79 you also forgot the arab, spanish, french, african, english etc...influence...although the greeks and arabs had the biggest of the influences

  • @halandreos79 sicilian=carthaginian

    works both ways

  • love <3

  • btw sorry i hated the music...it reminded me of sum dumb game i used to play when i was little.runescape anyone?

  • la nostra valle <3

  • I was there last Monday breathtaking place and no scaffolding for us...Recommend it to anyone without reserve

  • Thanks for the update. We love Sicily and can't wait to get back there.

  • THIS IS THE GREATNESS of THE GREEKS!!!!!!

  • Yes, it was quite inspiring to be there and see temples that spanned centuries of building. Thanks for your comment.

  • sicilian greeks

  • @vincenz55 Greeks are Greeks,no matter where they live!

  • @nixter888 and sicilians are sicilians no matter where they live. we are sicilian and thats it. not a chance do i consider myself greek, arab etc... nor do i want to....sicilian culture is different in many ways and im proud of it

  • @forzacatainapalermo Be whatever you want!..The only thing i know is that those temples were built by the ancient Greeks and that's a fact!!!!!

  • READ THIS TO LEARN...Agrigento is a city on the southern coast of Sicily, Italy, and capital of the province of Agrigento. It is renowned as the site of the ancient Greek city of Akragas (also known as Acragas (Ἀκράγας) in Greek, Agrigentum in Latin and Kerkent in Arabic), one of the leading cities of Magna Graecia during the golden age of Ancient Greece..........................Akragas grew rapidly, becoming one of the richest and most famous of the Greek colonies of Magna Graecia.,ENJOY.

  • @nixter888 ya Im not arguing that. i know those temples were built to honour greek gods and goddesses. chill out. I just hate wen people call sicilians greeks, arabs, etc...just because they were colonized by them. first of all, last time i checked sicily is not separated from italy, so they are italian NOT GREEK. you go to sicily and tell them they are arabic, let me just say they wont think too kindly of that.

  • @forzacatainapalermo There is nothing Arabic there!...There is only Greek temples!....

  • @nixter888 I am of agrigentino decent. and yes your right, agrigento is full of greek influence. but im not talking specifically about agrigento. read up on your history. Ill stick with the knowledge i gained from my trip to sicily and from family i have there

  • @forzacatainapalermo WELL I AM TALKING ABOUT MAGNA GRECIA,IN ANCIENT TIMES!. Sicily was invaded by the Arab forces of Caliph Uthman in the year 652. However, this first invasion was short-lived, and the Arabs left soon after. .....

  • @nixter888 we are talking about different things, so theres no point in arguing. im talking about sicilian culture in general; your not. we are both right in our own ways.

your pro greece, since your greek, so there is bias on your part.

  • @forzacatainapalermo There is not bias in my part!...I JUST MENTION THE FACTS!

  • @nixter888 AND SO AM I!!

  • @forzacatainapalermo Then we're even!

  • @forzacatainapalermo Magna Græcia (Latin meaning "Great Greece", Greek: Μεγάλη Ἑλλάς,) is the name of the coastal areas of Southern Italy on the Tarentine Gulf that were extensively colonized by Greeks particularly the Achaean colonies of Tarentum, Crotone, and Sybaris, but also, more loosely, the cities of Cumae and Neapolis to the north. The colonists, who began arriving in the eighth century BC, brought with them their Hellenic civilization.

  • @nixter888 and kerkent in arabic. your so ignorant. if you have ever been to places like messina to visit some of the historic monuments, castles etc...you will find hevay arab influence as a famous fortress they built there to defend against the greeks and others. not just in messina, but also in palermo and other towns have arab influence along with greek. the sicilian dialect is not only influenced by the greeks but is influenced by arabic as well.

  • @nixter888 Sicilians and Greeks are the same.

They were both conquered by the Arabs and Turks for so long that they fucked the Hellenic race into becoming Arabs themselves.

That's why they don't look European at all - especially the hairy Greek women.

  • @PresidentZod First of all, sicilians and greeks are not the same. Im sicilian and i can tell you that personally. Sicilian culture is different in many ways. Just because the greeks colonized sicily, doesnt make them the same. they might have similarity in terms of lineage and blood if you track down ancestry, but culture is what makes them different.

  • @PresidentZod BE IN YOUR FANTASY WORLD...YOU....NOBODY IS LISTENING YOUR PATHETIC REMARKS!

  • Stupenda la nostra valle...

  • It's is sad actually. All we see is ruins and rottening stone. The ancients who built those temples if they could be transported to our modern time to see them today would weep.

  • That may be true ... but then, they might be surprised to see there is still something left of their culture ... and perhaps pleased that we still care to learn about them.

  • no they wouldnt....they would be proud they lasted so long . and im going sicilly soon. yayyyy =P

  • for so many times i was there when i was a child now i see the things better i will go back there

  • Ah, yes. But when I was a child my eyes were not for the spledor of things but for playing with my friends and a day off from school.

  • but part of Italy was the great Greece! right?

  • Sorry, but I don't know. I am not a student of Italian History.

  • sorry for the bather !!!!

  • Indeed, you are right. Sicily and Southern Italy were the great Greece (Magna Grecia in italian and Megale Ellas in greek) :)

  • THANK YOU!Biotheck !it was very nice of you to explain to me ,about the MEGALH ELLAS !BLESS YOU!

  • it looks a lot like Greece!!!

  • Yes. The Greeks inhabited Sicily for many centuries until being conquered by other civilizations. In fact, the temple of Concord is the worlds best surviving Greek temple. It survived because it was used as a church and served other functions through the years.

  • ARE YOU OF GREEK DESCENT?

  • No, my ancestral home is Corfinio in the Abruzzo region of Italy.

  • Amazing place!!

  • ARE ALL THESE GREEK TEMPLES?
