When i get close to my african grey parrot his feathers ruffle up and he bows his head down and lets me pet him . Is that normal for his feathers to ruffle up like that ? or is he scared ? Or tellig me to get away ?
The whole observing their other flock members eating then wanting what you have is very true for my friends bird. Her quaker parrot was sitting on my shoulder and reached for what ever I was trying to put into my mouth, I learned how to share that day haha.
@quakerparrotlily lol. i am also a 11 year old child who's more matured than his age. I have two budgies which I completely tamed on my own. I am going to buy a blue and gold macaw and I have never trained a parrot and is looking what to do for biting since they have sharp beaks.
to everyone who is saying she knows nothing about birds well you are WRONG, i have tried ALL of her ideas and they WORK very very well. as for the white bird that has plucked out his feathers, stop saying she is a bad owner, for all you know she has gone to a vet and gotten treatment or it may have happened for reasons that YOU dont know.
Yes it is true. They are the smartest bird in the world, and it is amazing how well they talk, you can literally share a conversation with one. I knew one that if you were watching t.v, it would copy every word and sound effect for example, gun shots, horses etc. He was so clever and sweet! :)
does it work for eclucids?

Elizabeth,
You are clearly great with your "flock".
I imagine you get asked this question a lot, but, is it true that African Greys are the best talkers/learners?
Thanks,
G
