No water entered the Jeep. It was stupid as we did not realise how salty the water was or how deep it was. But the Jeep has survived. Cost me a bit to replace the radiator, fan clutch and various other parts that deteriorated, but the body and chassis of the car have not rusted. The Jeep is now 8 years old and still purrs like a kitten.

Cheers for replying will try further north next trip, at easter the beach track was washed away probably about 2 ks before getting to salt creek from 42mile. when ive ventured further than 2 ks nth of 42 mile the track seems to get a bit hairy been abit gutless to keep going mind you got my young kids with me! going over with some mates soon will venture up further. Much better with a couple of vechils & safer. heard about yalata gota get there one day cheers!!

Gutters are the best and deepest within the first 1km north of the Tea Tree crossing Fence. If you were casting as far as you could piss, I bet the wind was up again. That is the problem fishing those waters -wind always screws you.
Try Yalata grounds far west coast for real mulloway action!

I use an abu 7500 myself. We did not fish that time. My mate bought a 4wd and wanted to go 4wd'ing, so I initiated him there. Probably the biggest 4wd'ing thrill he will ever get. I prefer to get my Mully's at Yalata on the far west coast.
