  • how did you do this? i want to try it!

  • @1devo6587 The entire sequence was animated in Macromedia Flash MX from scratch. Some of the graphics I did in Photoshop. Alot of the first 30 seconds is the frames from my matt smith 80s opening just reversed.

  • @sixstanger00 also, where did you get the 80's doctor font?

  • @1devo6587 Its called Debussy, and dafont dot com should have it.

  • Your "Doctor Who" is incorrect if this is ment to spoof Davison's and C.Baker's intro, starting from Davison's first story, Castrovalva through the end of Season 26, he is credited simply as "The Doctor".

  • @buc555 Yes, but Tom Baker's last season used this intro also. Tom's face used a "fade" transition whereas Davison used the venetian blinds technique. Since this uses the fade, I guess technically its a spoof of Tom Baker's last season.

  • Donna Noble was with David Tennant, not Matt Smith. Matt Smith is with Amy

  • @CannibalCupCake1 Thank you, Admiral Obvious. Look at the upload date for this vid - I designed this BEFORE it was announced that Karen Gillan would be starring as the Doctor's companion, Amy Pond.

  • Awesome! What font name is used for the names?

  • So how come Matt was credited as "Doctor Who" rather than "The Doctor"? There was nothing to suggest they'd go back to that.

  • @Alkonium I made this intending it to be a recreation of the 80s outro with only one difference: Matt's face instead of Bakers/Davisons. I used "Doctor Who" as the character name because that's how his role was credited during the original series.

  • @sixstanger00 Well, technically speaking, Peter Davison was only credited as "Doctor Who" in Part Four of Logopolis, and Tom Baker only had the starfield titles for one season. Also, Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy were never credited as "Doctor Who"

  • @sixstanger00 actully durring the Peter Davison era onwards the casting changed from "Doctor Who" to "The Doctor" but before davison it said "Doctor Who" but when series 1 came out it was credited as "Doctor Who" again until the david tennant era when it was changed back to "The Doctor"

  • @sixstanger00 ermm actually the final time he was credited as dr who was part four of tom bakers final story logopolis, which was in early 1981. but since your title has a tom baker 1980 intro feel to it, it kind of is justified

  • @sixstanger00 Didn't the stop crediting him as "Doctor Who" after Tom Baker left?

  • @buc555

They went back to it for some stupid reason when Christopher Eccleston was the Doctor.

  • thanks for the credit man, appreciate it. love the vid (hardwire)

  • "Matthew Smith"?

  • @TheAngryGit Yes, at when I did this animation, (shortly after the announcement of Smith's casting, I wasn't sure how he would be credited in DW, since "Matt" is short for "Matthew." The credits in this vid were taken from "The Next Doctor," which was the most recent episode out at the time.

  • @sixstanger00 Ah...OK, fair enough.

  • wow that was amazing

  • Nice work! Is that font VAG Rounded Bold?

  • No, the font i used was "Debussy." The positions were outlined in white with a transparent fill, and the names vice versa.

  • Okay. Thanks. :-)

  • Which actually turned out to be a bit of a hassle. FLASH won't let me outline fonts like COREL DRAW does, so I had to create the credits on Corel, then copy them into Photoshop, remove the background and then save them as GIFs to preserve their transparency. Whew.

  • PNG has transparancy too. ;-)

  • Yes it does, and so does TIFF and EPS. I usually only use TIFFs and EPSs when I'm dealing with t-shirt designs that are spot colot designs. These file types will preserve the vectors that are created in Corel or Adobe Illustrator.
