Paraiso School of Samba is surely one of the most traditional samba school in the UK. In my view there are better than any other samba school or band in the UK. The true rythems of Rio/Sao Paulo finally come to london as the only real Rio Samba school in Britain. Hense wise The London school of Samba is no good as Praiso!

This is the peoples' Carnival - you can see this from my video. It's home is Notting Hill it's where it should stay. There are only four problems with Carnival. The rubbish, the drunks, the yobs (they are just backward boys) and finance.
(continued) Forget nostalgia this is the 21st Century - get 'The City' to invest in Carnival (half a million + exposure is worth a great deal) the yobs community service next year will be to clean the streets. Then remove the drunks. I also think Boris should take a trip to Rio to learn a lesson and get (ex) Mayor Giuliani to 'clean' the streets. Next years Carnival CAN be better, more fun & more colourful, it is not rocket science!

I love carnival and gpexj is right it's a few silly arseholes who spoil thing for the majority who just want to have a good time. It's nice to see that whites are joining in and appreciating the carnival for what it is-FUN! :)
The carnival has arrived! I luv that caribbean sound environment, but there were some really ugly chicks and some guys that lost total control of morality.
The only worrying thing we saw Monday was a family arriving at 4pm pushing a double-buggy...bad move. We loved it all and will be going again and again!
Carnival hasn't lost its vibe. It's just silly young guys who come out looking for trouble that deduct the fun. The press hardly ever show the majority of people enjoying themselves at carnival, just the minority who spoil carnival. But anyway, I was playing in a costume and felt safe the whole day, until the trouble erupted.
Just like the press in the country to only focus on something negative. The Carnival had run the day before with no trouble then the idiots turn up and have to spoil everything so that's what the press decide to focus on.
They are going to ban carnival soooon 1 day there will b no carnival nd its a shame all beacuse of stupid boys being violent towards police. Its nt fair on da ppl who actually have a good time at carnival nd enjoy thereselves.
I was there yesterday,had a great day didn't see any trouble'it was my first carival,im in my fiftys and from glasgow,wish i had started going years ago,be there next year,all being well. non drinking CHAS.

The Press will always report the 200 people causing trouble not the 499,800 having fun, partying and enjoying Carnival. Safer than walking down Oxford Street on a Saturday afternoon. Get some more sponsors and next year WILL be more colourful & fun.
lol every year people complain about youth gangs but tbh i was there and i felt safe most of the time. If you arent drunk and keep your wits about you, carnival is just as safe as any other large scale event.

There will be no next year. Face it, the carnival is OVER. All the youth gangs that rush people and create havoc with the police will ensure that.
I have been going to carnival since it was run by local people for local people and it has now got out of hand and is frankly dangerous.
The vibe has gone anyway...
