Both Dan and Rorschach apologize for different things in this scene in both the comic and the movie. Rorschach saying "I'm sorry that it is sometimes difficult" is cut out of this clip, but it's definitely there.
No, they both do. Daniel says without facing Rorschach that he shouldn't have said what he just said. Then Rorschach says, "Daniel, you are a good friend. I am sorry that it is sometimes difficult." Daniel looks awkward and says to forget it.
Yeah, one thing I like about Rorschach is that even though he is very narrow-minded, sees everything in black and white, and constantly points out the faults of people around him, he still is able to judge a person based on their merits and not their views. Even though his views are much different than that of Daniel's, he still considers him to be a good person and a good friend.
please tell me there's about 5 seconds more of rorschach holding daniel's hand ... because i totally live for that moment in the book, where rorschach's still holding his hand and daniel's finally like, "uhh ... well ... anyways ..."
I recently saw Watchmen, and I have to say it was very confusing... Didn't really get the plot, splendid visuals, though. Rorschach was AMAZING! Most Dr. Manhattan scenes were good e.g. the cancer scene, the violence was sickening (but awesome), The Night Owl/Silk Spectre sex scene was horribly akward, too much politics , movie was also a bit long.
IMO it's got both good and bad scenes, sort of 50/50 but I expected something different. Then again, I haven't read the graphic novel
Haha, I think they should've man-hugged at the end instead of the handshake. Then again, the handshake was in the comic. Their friendship is so akward. <3
he was the only character in this movie with all of his clothes on. and then he died at the end. i didnt wanna see anymore of dr manhattans gigantic glowing fuckstick
You wouldn't take someone seriously because of their height? I wish you knew how annoying that is. It's akin to someone not taking you seriously because you're a girl.
yeah, true Rorschach is small, but man he can beat the shit out of ANYONE!......errr except for dr.Manhattan sadly :( but i still wouldn't wanna mess with him.
becouse veidt is fast enough to catch a bullet and also smartest man in the world. He is prolly the best vigilante of them all if you don't count Dr. Manhattan
or just go with a friend that can be considered ur "guardian". then its easy and the film gets the money the way it should be. and rorschach is supposed to be a dark guy with a different additude and voice, so stop fukin freaking out. i dont think comic books talk, he could have a normal voice and ud probably be bitching about that too.
no it is raspy. the word bubble is all scrathy. look at it. that means it's a raspy voice. so yes this is what he is suposed to sound like. this is how i use to read it. in that voice. that's how alan moore reads it.
anti heroes have the rasp so people can't figure out who it is. that's why batman was critized in the begining because it was so easy to tell it was bruce wayne mouths and voice from the original movies. same thing would apply to Rorschach.
watch moore's reading it sounded somewat like that and this is the closest they could get with the acter looking like him. They started this before Batman came out
I can assure u guys, this clip is shortened, the words will be said exactly like in the book. Jackie totally made his greatest come back in Hollywood, and hope he gets nominated for this role in the oscars, we will see.....hurm
I really wish they would have kept the line when Nite Owl says "Do you know how hard it is, being your friend." And Rorschach responding, "You are...a good friend...I am sorry...that it is sometimes difficult." That scene was actually really touching in the graphic novel.
It's a 2 and a half hour movie with 14.5 minutes to cover the content of an issue. I'd say that it's a pretty tough squeeze to fit that much story in.
Yeah they should have kept it. And Rorschach reacting to it and getting off his seat wasn't a good idea. I always got the impression he was compltely oblivious to peoeples reactions to his behavior (as the reactions were happening, later maybe he noticed).
Just sneak in, dude. When I was a teen, I snuck into R rated movies all the time.
It's simple. Buy a ticket to another film, then sneak in. Just don't go on opening weekend, because there will be high security. Go on a weekday, or a week later or something.
hell yeah high security on opening night! when i snuck into Friday the 13th, it was so packed that security didnt bother to check peoples tickets it would take too long
Hey totally random thought, but out of the "fanboys" and "fangirls" of Watchmen, having read ample discussions taking place in different places, online and off, it seems like the "fangirls" are far more accepting of the movie. Just an observation.
Most of the fangirls I know were talked into reading it by fanboys and haven't waited so many years.
My best friend who I finally got to read the book (She has a vendetta against Alan Moore) still doesn't like the changes but enjoys the style. She really dug this scene, since she posts Rorschach/Dan slash fiction and art. :D
I like how Rorschach's mask seems to form a shocked expression when Dan starts yelling at him. Then when he says "Daniel...you are...a good friend" you see the black part around his eyes run downwards like tears.
I don't see this scene as touching. Even in the comic this part was obscure and awkward. It wasn't uncomfortable or anything but the chemistry between these two characters was very bizzare. I'm not sure if this clip has been cut down but it really doesnt catch what the comic had. Not having it take place under water kind of takes away the lonliness and insecurity of the scene.
i saw the one with dan and adrian which never happened in the book it happened between rorshach and adrian, im very dissapointed that they would change something like that, and now i know why mathew was so worried about his accent it still sounds like the one from the "lookout"
this part of the graphic novel is so moving! im so glad they seem to have kept that emotion! I can't wait to see the full length version of this scene. they were both perfectly casted!
I love the chemistry between them
