You know why they dropped the manual? Because even pro race car drivers have said that VW's dual clutch gear-box blows any manual away. There is NOTHING in common between the race spec DSG gearboxes and traditional paddel shift gearboxes. You can crack downshifts in like .3 seconds with DSG boxes. No one on earth can shift that fast with a true manual. Even Ferrari adopted VW's DSG technology. When you shift to 2nd, there is already a 2nd clutch engaged making the shifts instant.
I challenge anyone to outshift a DSG powered machine with a true manual or better yet to give me any advantage over a manual to a dual clutch system set to race specs.
You simply don´t get it, so it´s probably a waste of time to tell you that it´s not about "outshifting" it´s about fun and total control. Outshifting and all that blabla BS is for 18 year old who wanna impress their mates, grown people just don´t care about stuff like that as long as they are not on a racetrack.
well you know why they don;t offer a manual transmission? Because Gordon Murray didn't design the car, that's why! You would think they could just adapt their weismann 6 speed unit to todays tech standard and offer it in the car as an option.
why it so slow?

It's not the speed of shifts people like about manuals, it's the feel. They are much more pleasurable to drive on the road.
